Mitchels and Spa in for another titanic battle!! I think Templenoe have a big chance of going another step and winning the Intermediate, a very good side. Hypothetical, but what happens if Mary's end up winning the All Ireland and also go on to win the 2016 Kerry Intermediate title again?

I think Mitchels will be going all out for this; they will be buoyed by their return to Division 1 and given that its likely that St Brendans will have to contest the preliminary round in the county championship this will in all likelihood be their focus for the year- add in the experience that will be gained from plying their trade in the top tier, I think they will be hard to beat.

I think the restructuring of the championships in Kerry will have a very positive effect across the three championships. Hopefully these teams will embrace playing with their districts this summer like St Marys and Templenoe did in 2015 with South Kerry and the Kenmare district. Club players should enjoy playing in more competitive environments in 2016. At the end of the day it is all about giving players the platform to play for the various Kerry teams.

Yes I would agree with some of the sentiments here about the Mitchells being probable favourites for this competition . Their particular brand of agression is ideally suited to the nuances of the intermediate championship and I could see them emulating St Marys and heading for Croaker.

Can't figure out how they haven't won one yet Waterville for this one, Currow seem to be on the slide Kenmare to beat an ageing Gneevguilla team An Ghaeltacht seem to have good structures and a few lads on the u21 team to backbone the side Home advantage huge here. Mary's lost here 2 years previous, will depend on whether Maurice will still be in charge and whether they have the will to go again Templenoe will be a little fresher than the Mary's and can see them getting past Glenflesk

Mitchel's or Desmond's for me here, but an extremely competitive championship this year! Christ, you could make an argument for 7/8 teams. Watch out for An Gaeltacht! There's a mighty crop of young players coming through back West! PCD and Fitzys influence can be seen in their play. Think this year may be a year too soon for them but they will take beating!

What a line up. I'm not even going to venture a guess as to rd 1 winners rt now. The week before I will. So competitive that you could 6 possible outright winners and and still easily get it wrong. I think spa v Mitchell's will be super after there recent battles. Lots of matches worth going to.

Kills me to say it but an Ghaeltacht have great young players coming through that are at a different level to the rest. Marys and Templenoe will take a beating.
Gaeltacht to advance to senior

Mary's also a cert which is a change from my early season pessimism about their trip north.

It must be the toughest c'ship (so many strong and equal teams) in Ireland. To pick a winner, I'll do a raffle I'd say. Some competition

Interesting that most predictions are going for away winners. It was once thought that it was the be all and end all to get a home fixture in the first round of championship

Laune Rangers are a good thing for the Intermediate IMO.
If they can keep hold of players from going to America such as Pa Joy and John O'Shea it will be between them and St Marys.
St Marys have weakened from last years success. They have lost depth from their panel in the form of Declan "BOYSIE" Keating. This man has been doing immense gym work in preparation for his trial down under with the Swans and wish him all the ebst.

I would be shocked if Laune Rangers were to win this.
Cant see them getting past the first round IMO
I feel there are 5/6 teams ahead of Laune Rangers

Everyone is entitled to there opinion but if its not a wind up I'd like to know on what basis you think Laune are a good bet to win the intermediate, I'll be shocked if they get past the Gaeltacht on current form,

They may certainly not be favourites but I fancy Rangers to take Gaeltacht at the weekend. You must remember that they are historically a good championship team and were a division one side a couple of seasons ago and have decent young players although I'll admit they've lost a couple also. There's a potent full forward line in John O'Shea, MFR and Patrick Joy who possesses immense speed. They gave a decent showing against stacks in last seasons relegation play off and put it up to them for 40 mins. There has been a clear out of deadwood as the club looks to rebuild and have hired the pied piper outside the training ground.

He'll be back in September for the business end of things...

What do you mean deadwood? You seem to have a thing against the Rangers Brosna11 - let's not forget as you said they could have beaten Stacks last year but ran out of options off the bench and Stacks experience told....I think the Gaeltacht game will be tight - couple of points in it either way....if I'm not mistaken Gaeltacht won by 2 late points a few weeks back so Rangers I'm sure will be looking to reverse the result

Have you not read my posts? That's what I'm saying. That Rangers will win.
