From my limited knowledge of JOC I would say that its his way or the highway and he values committment and attitude highly. Injuries are complicating matters but he has shown himself to be understanding with injured players in the past provided they are putting serious effort into their rehab and look like being available in time as a result. As with his minor teams in recent years its not just about the best players - several talented players did not feature for him and others that we would perceive as less talented filled important roles because he felt he could trust/rely on them. He is team focussed. Leaves him open to crucifixition if it goes wrong from the hurlers on the ditch but its a formula that has stood him well to date. O Dwyer in his day could have had similar accusations thrown at him with some good players never getting a look in.

They probably wont have near their strongest team for Tipp. Team will be something like 1 Eoghan O'Brien 2 Dan O'Donoghue 3 Brian O'Beaglaoich 4 Tom O'Sullivan 5 Brian Sugrue 6 Andrew Barry 7 Matthew Flaherty 8 Barry O'Sullivan 9 Greg Horan 10 Micheal Burns 11 Brian Rayell 12 Brian Ó Seanacháin 13 Killian Spillane 14 Eanna O'Conchuir 15 Jack Savage
Subs Jordan Kiely Rob O'Se Cathal O'Luing Tony Brosnan Jason Foley Pat O'Connor David Foran Stephen O'Sullivan from what I heard it will be close to that. Conor Keane Shane Ryan Mark O'Connor Conor Geaney Cormac Coffey Liam Kearney all missing for one reason or another.

Jason Foley has been full back in last 2 challenge games with Brian O'Beaglaoi @ 5 ; Tony Brosnan has been the star up front so far so would expect him to start.

Are both Kieran Murphys from kilcummin & glenflesk still injured or what's the story, I think both are underage?? I thought rob Wharton was well worth a run, are Sean t Dillon & Dara roche still in there?? Where's Liam Carey gone??
There's more than likely 30 left incl a few on the extended panel.

Yes by all accounts injuries have been a big problem pulling a team/squad together. Remember also that this is very condensed, knockout competition from the word go. First game is 9th of March and the All Ireland Final is scheduled for April 30th (if it goes well - 5 games in just under eight weeeks). The games come thick and fast - if a player does not look like being available then they are out due to timescale. Carrying knocks into the competition could be detrimental as there is minimal recovery time between games (assuming you stay winning them). Looking forward to this competition kicking off and hoping for a decent run.

What is the cause of this plague of injuries with Kerry football at present? First we had the plethora of injuries with the seniors . Now the contagion is decimating the u21's. It is a shame if Jack is going to be debilitated by this curse. We would need to,be close to full strength against Tipp. It is fortunate that we are at home for,the fixture. It is not that long ago since Tipp surprised our U21's in Tralee.

It's a broken record at this stage but the demands on these U-21s are the root cause of all these injuries; Joe O'Connor has been heard to state on more than one occasion that there is no such thing as over training , it's under recovery. Given that many of these guys are living outside of Kerry, they are probably travelling to training/games once a week, playing with their clubs at week ends or involved in college competitions. They have study on top of this plus many are holding down part time jobs to pay for college- they have little or no time to themselves and certainly very little time to recover.

Training with both Colleges and Under 21 panel this time of year, colleges finish up and its straight into Club sessions a couple of nights a week. It's madness. Matthew Flaherty and Barry O Sullivan both injured aswell, but expected to be available for the game.
Cormac Coffey is back training and still involved but dont think he is expected to be back.
Liam Carey gone for the bones of the year I think.
Could be a big opportunity for lads to stake a claim against Tipp. The likes of Jordi Kiely, Tony Brosnan, Rob O Se, fellas that mightn't have been expected to have been starting against Tipp.

I think unfortunately you can add rob os'e to that injury list heard tonight he will be out for a while and won't be available for tipp also. These injuries must be very frustrating for jack and his mentors

Without Barry O'Sullivan or Mark O'Connor my early season confidence has dipped a bit in this team. Others absent too through injury weaken the panel. I wonder are we that strong to go all the way with such an injury list?

Matthew O'Sullivan , Foilmore on the assumption that neither Mark O'Connor nor Barry O'Sullivan are fit enough to start.

I agree it's a shame to see so many good players injured! The minors from the last two years had no major issues with injuries and were all available for big games. I believe management changed the physio setup for this year, I wonder does that have anything to do with it. #strangecalltochangeawinningteam.

In fairness I don't think many got injured with the u21s themselves.. Barry got injured with UCD, Rob Sé left the panel last year with a similar injury, Liam Carey and Kearnry's injuries are longstanding, don't think they've even trained at all with this set up

Won't be far off there Premier. If Matthew Flaherty and Barry O Sullivan arent back, I expect Brian Sugrue and Matthew O Sullivan to start. Possibly Brandon Barrett ahead of Seannachain also.
