kerry last did it in 1962 and 1963, laois did it in 1996 and 1997, so can kerry retain the minor allireland?
of the 2014 team they have andrew barry at 6 and mark o connor at 9 playing, plus subs stephen o sullivan , jack morgan and jason foley. also other players were in training on a regular basis and gained valuable experience. great work being done at development squads in recent years so alot of talent coming through[.u 16 recently beat u 17 team]. colleges games will show who has got what it takes to make it as a county minor and hopefully no one will miss out because of injury like cathal bambury and cian o connor. first game next april so plenty of debate before then.

Cian O Connor was rehabbing from injury last winter early spring and never made it into the panel after that when he regained full fitness. He was a minor the year before alright too

There were only 2 U17 players on the starting team this year. U17 squad were dissapointing in games and training beaten in one of their 2 games with the U16s and also beaten in 1st game in the Jeremiah Kearns tournament in Milltown. There does not appear to be the same standard of player for minor team 2015. U15 and U16s both appear to have decent groups but I would be worried about prospects of retaining the title or even being really competative. I do not see players of the calibre of Shane Ryan, Begley, Barry O Sullivan, Burns, Flaherty Spillane or Tomas O Sé for the coming year. Mark O Connor, Andrew Barry, Stephen O Sullivan exempted, I do not see enough of other top level potential. Jack Morgan, Jason Foley, Gavin White, John mark Foley, Conor Geaney and Brian Shanahan will hopefully improve on under Jack's guidance to make us competative at least. Were there any other U17s involved during 2014 with the minor panel?

Cool is being a little harsh on the 17's - they lost in the JK tournament in sudden death after extra time. And the U17's beat the 16's second time out after underestimating them first time out. Also remember the 17's were without about seven players that were tied up with the minors. They are a solid bunch with the next too squads (16&15) being possibly a little stronger. Retaining the AI will be a tall order but not impossible, particularly with the current management team. They should challenge and thereafter who knows.

Some of these players you mentioned won't be anywhere near that level next year. No disrespect to any of them but a combination of factors (predominantly youth) will keep them far away from the kerry minors next year.

Mark Sugrue Renard will be a handful went to the dingle and collate na sceilige game and he lorded midfield he's around 6 foot 4 and a very strong lad and looks very fit the players I thought impressed last week were Alan curran renArd Aswell renard always have a good players coming up pat Spillane not good enough for minors either what other goal keepers have they? The goalie for colaiste the last day was pretty impressive but I never got his name, it will be hard to get a goalie as good as Shane Ryan ! I imagine that Eoghan O Brien will start- will Shane Foley be anywhere near it? I havent seen him in a while but he looked like a really good prospect when I previously watched him play

No offence! Players you have said that wont make the panel : .................. Back up the bus here. These are young lads you are talking about here and who the * are you to tell them they aren't good enough. Like your judgements, this thread is premature... what next the Kerry Minors 2020? ...who the * are you to tell them they aren't good enough .....
Annascaul is absolutely right.
I await with great anticipation his reply to the question.

No offence! Players you have said that wont make the panel : Conor Mccarthy (Legion) - Too small and very young. , Daniel o Brien (Glenflesk) way to young , John Foley (Kilgarvin) , Mike Moynihan (Spa) Way to young havnt got game for Sem seniors yet , David Naughton (Dr.crokes) To young wont make sem team , DJ murphy (Gneeveguilla) Too slow good player improving but come to early , mike boyle (Dingle) Played no part in Dingle team last year be suprised if made it , Billy Courtney (Dr.Crokes) too slow , Too young and be lucky make panel in his own age in 2016 , JJ Herlihy (gneeveguilla) good player but wont make it , Jack Goulding (Ballyduff) - Too slow wont make it near panel , Dean Fitzgerald (Rathmore) Too young and gone way back , Pat spillane (Templenoe) Just not good enough, Diarmuid Keating (Skellig Rangers) lacks paste good player but a bit too soon i reckon, Niall o donoghue (Firies) TOO YOUNG! , Peter Mccarthy (Legion) Not getting game for sem team too young , Gearoid savage (Kerins o Rahillys) good player but i dont think so . Player that i think will come near panel. David Clifford (Fossa) , Lee o donoghue (Glenflesk) , Dara Moynihan (Spa) , Sean bambury (Gaeltacht) , Mike breen (Beaufort) , David Roache (Miltown ) Back up the bus here. These are young lads you are talking about here and who the * are you to tell them they aren't good enough. Like your judgements, this thread is premature... what next the Kerry Minors 2020? Its all well and good to be naming players on here for next years minors, but crazy to say they will or wont be on the team. In the 6 or so months before they even start anything could happen. Lads could pick up an injury, lose form etc whereas others might get a good run of form you just cant say

Certainly Na Crocaigh knows more about the underage talent in Kerry than 95% of posters here in my view. Sure, he might know a bit more about the East Kerry players (as he'll probably admit himself) but from recollection he has called a few minor and other squads fairly accurately in the past, so he clearly is a real fan and goes to a lot of games. What IS ridiculous here is posters slating 16/17 year olds saying "he'll never make it" and this kind of sh*t..cop yourselves on. There is no telling at that age if a guy will "make it2 or not and slating them is certainly not going to help.

Ridiculos stuff! Were now in October players have 6 months to get themselves in shape! Saying lads wont make it because there too slow! If there too slow why are they on development squads every year and on there district teams playing big roles!
