Look...it doesnt matter a flying F**k what the allocation is the next day. On Sunday, there will be 30000 kerry and cork fans at the game. Tickets ALWAYS FUNNEL BACK TO THE PARTICIPATING COUNTIES!
Every fan from Cork and Kerry (touch wood) should get a ticket and thus this thread should be fairly irrelevant for MOST people

Correct Walter, The secretary of the county board (eamonn o'sullivan) was on radio kerry and hit the nail on the head. 'The county board office will not be putting tickets on public sale. Those worthy of tickets know how to go about getting them and i am sure we will have personal representations'.
Code for: If you are involved in a club you will get sorted by the club.
If you are travelling to every national league game and Mcgrath cup game then we know who you are and will sort you out. Its not as if there are any more than a couple of hundred that go to all the league games.
I think the current method of distributing tickets is excellent. Perhaps the Kerry Supporters Club could get an allocation of maybe 200 for the die hards not involved in clubs (maybe they do already because of all the fundraising they do).

I just have one question. Will this FINAL be a sell-out?

In fairness to Eamonn O Sullivan he told it like it was. Clubs will do their best to look after members but i know for a fact in our club rightly or wrongly 75% of the tickets go to the senior players. Fair enuf u might say but i go to watch their games as well as the juvenile game and just cause im not home to do any training or anyhtin with them im 75% less likely to get a ticket. That said they put in all the trainin etc.

GAA hunts cash input www.independent.ie/sport/gaelic-football/gaa-hunts-cash-input-1073125.html"In effect, existing advertisers will be squeezed out in favour of the six major companies who are bank-rolling the championship. The new sponsors will be entitled to 100 free tickets for All-Ireland finals with an option to buy a further 200." I just thought I'd throw this in here... 1800 tickets for the main sponsors if the new deal the GAA are chasing comes in. I have no problem with that.....by getting in sponsorship they ll be able to keep the ticket prices at reasonably acceptable level (ie e60 for an AI ticket is very acceptable....tickets for the average bog standard premiership games are about e60!

Good to see they're finally going for it, and going one step further than even the Premiership went. If they pull it off, it will a huge achievement by Dermot Power and the marketing team in the GAA. No doubt there will be teething problems, but in theory, the Champions League model which they are adopting can work if they have a team to do it for them - as the Champions League organisers UEFA do - on the ground. Leaving it up to the sponsors to do it would be a mess!!
So, congrats to the GAA - a very forward reaching proposal and one that could have huge potential for the sponsors if they put their mind to it. Mind you, they should get a few more tickets for the final - sure that'd hardly do your staff needs considering the size of the companies being targeted!!

the new sponsorship deal is worth 30 million to the gaa over 3 years, theres 30 million from the rent of croker in the same period and an yearly income of 50 million plus, that a lot of breadcoming in,210 million over a three year period and the sell of the tv rights are coming up for discussion soon also.Croker is a serious business, some amature organistion,it must be the one of the most successful models in the world.

AS long as the brass up there in Croker dont go the way of our friends in the dail by giving themselves huge pay increases and xmas bonuses!!! Although it must be said the people up there in charge of the finances/marketing appear (and i say that by what i see only on the cover) to be doing a good job at what they are being to do

i think the whole gaa product from croker down to clubs is a massive success story,i loved to see a new structure to the championships, club time freed up for the club player and the county players getting their grants, tax breaks, insurances policies and very good exspenses packages sorted out in the short term,i feel its the best way to secure the amature ethos of this great organistion and let the gaa grow even more successfully in the future.

You asked me a question there a few days ago KerryG about how I'd go about keeping the game amateur. There's your answer.....increased expense packages paid out by the GAA's central coffers - and lobby the government to make them tax free.

i thinks its the only way really to go,the welfare of the county player has to be looked after, their the vital ingredient to maintaining a cash flow of 200 odd million every three years into gaa coffers, when you factor in revenue to the exchequer from gaa related activities, grants, tax breaks, good quality expenses package, proper insurance schemes(brian mc guigan)shouldnt really be such a big issue to deal with infairness, the means are diffinately there if the will is to do it.

That, a copy of the Mikey Sheehy 'This is your life' tribute done over in John Mitchels club house and a copy of the 1986 County Final were the first three VHS' owned by the Abu household.....ie, there was nothing else to watch so Willy Wonka was fairly analysed!!

Lads what do people think the ticket situation will be like? Phoned home last night and the feeling seems to be that tickets won't be a problem this year compared to last year. Last year was the worst I've ever seen. Luckily I was sorted myself but for the first time ever we weren't offered a spare once all weekend. As someone already said the Ryder Cup may have played a part.

The county board are getting 3,000 tickets less than last year. So I imagine that getting tickets through the club will be a bigger problem than last year, but as the demand for the game wont be as great, getting tickets from the rest of the county should be much easier than years gone by.
I dont think there will be any problem on the day, I reckon it wont be a sell out, although I'm sure the GAA Authorities will say it was a sell out.

It's like this....there are 82,000 tickets for the All- Ireland final. If you want one, you'll get one! Anybody who fails to get a ticket obviously didn't try very hard.

pat spillane questioned the club system of distributing tickets for the all-ireland final in his article yesterday,he feels there should be a coupon system for regular attendances at matches.
