It is worrying throwing away our last two leads in Croker!! What is up with the lads today, hard to make sense of it listening to radio...just got coverage back from RK.

Someone mentioned that the team was suffering from some virus - some of these guys including Darren and Cooper certainly look sluggish and washed out -
Making mistakes like Star made is good to get out of the system at this point - I would be surprised to see him ever do that again....

Kerry can't even keep the ball now. Luckily for us Mayo shooting is off.

Buckley should have fisted that over. Sheehan with 45 to level with last kick of game and he misses.
Game over. Very poor from Kerry.

Shocking display. They never got going. Long ball was working well in the second half, what do they do then... Bring Donaghy out the field to make a tit of himself and the players start that stupid messing with the ball. Kerry just looked disinterested today. Very disappointing.

Sheehan can't seem to do it when the chips are down. But to be fair only a few players performed today.

Yeah they had several chances to put that ball over the bar - where they were going made no sense - Galvin barging through their backline - of course at that point chance was over and he no where to go ...

There is no All-Ireland in this team. An insipid performance that saw Kerry build up leads and then give them away. This team gives away possession too easily and instead of pressing home an advantage they play ring a ring a rosy in defence. Not good and there are not too many remedies being proposed by the management team with nothing seemingly having been learnt from last year. Losing to Mayo is not a good thing and before anyone says that it is good to get all the bad things out of the way in the League these bad things have now become habitual.

Still though if Kerry face Mayo in Croke Park in the Summer I won't be putting any money on Mayo.

Sheehan does appear to be a confidence player all right but to be fair the loss today was not down to him, the whole team just never really got going...loads of unforced errors, shocking passing and just not driving on when we were ahead. Plus we need a full back, Killian is not one! I wonder why Bohane wasn't tried out..

A couple of us have been saying this about Young for weeks now and he was badly exposed today. Not a full back!

This performance can not be used to judge how the team will play in the championship. Gooch was very poor. Maybe the worst I have ever seen him play. He is having a bad spell (his last game for Crokes against Cross). Donaghy was shocking. I'm not sure is there anything inside in his head. Galvin was the best of the forwards with O'Donoghue and O'Leary close behind. Mahony didn't look great at centre back. There will be a different team performance come the Munster Championship. Again this is only the league and i doubt anyone on the team will feel too disappointed about the loss.

Anyone know why O'Leary was taken off? Was having more of an impact than several others.

I remember reading Trevor Giles asking the question following the All Ireland Final in an Irish Examiner discussion blog - 'would this Kerry team's head ever be right after such a loss from a strong winning position in the All Ireland Final'. Well, not on the evidence of today - Trevor. September came back to haunt us as the same mistakes were again compounded. This loss today will really mess with the heads even more.
However, huge credit must go to Mayo, they have shown tremendous heart and I believe a victory today against their Croke Park nemesis will bring them on heaps and bounds. I really don’t think the confidence Mayo will take from this victory over Kerry should be underestimated.
As For Kerry we had some of the best and most accurate forwards in the country playing as backs and we had the sight of our fullback continually appearing up in the forward line – crazy stuff. Paul Galvin was immense – how we need the man now more than ever!

He spent the majority of his time behind his man. Questions have to be asked about Darrans form..Hasnt had a good game since Quarter finals last year. Donaghy besides the kick he gave away for the penatlty was having a great game and hes after a hard few weeks with stuff other than football. Bringing donnacha on with 25 mins left and not having played inter county football in 8 months was baffling. I think they'll be very dissapointed loosing to a very average Mayo team

Disappointed with the display today, Maher and Enright were excellent, Marc and Galvin in patches can hold their head up too. Outside of these i cant pick out anyone else. it was a drab and lifeless display. 1. Kealy - Ok but kick outs a predictable 2. Enright - Excellent game, was close to MOTM 3. Marc O Se - Was solid enough 4. Killian - Poor and is lost in the corner, should be on the wing where most effective 5. Crowley - has played better 6. O Mahony - Battled but gave away an amount of ball 7. McGuire - Same as crowley, have seen him play alot better 8. Maher - Excellent game, work rate is excellent and is really starting to influence games 9. Sheehan - Good display but should have nailed the free at the end 10. Galvin - Picked up alot of breaks but was lucky to stay on for constant fouling# 11. Darran - Poor, never got going 12. Donaghy - Poor, what he did for Mayo first goal was criminal - indulging himself 13. Gooch - decent display but lacking a bit of sharpness 14. Curtain - Won a bit of ball and showed well 15. OLeary - Played ok and unluchy to be taken off ahead of donaghy and darran
Of the subs i though BJK and James O D were the pick, BJK should have been introduced earlier IMO.
Overall its league but on todays display we still have work to do. Positives are enrights return to form and mahers display and our ability to come back from 6 points to 1 down. Negatives are our inability to kill off Mayo when in front twice when the game was there to be won..

In my view Kieran O' Leary has shown again why he is not good enough 2 b in the starting fifteen 4 kerry.. Surely O donoghue or BJ kEANE will get the nod over him in future.. Any1 know why Dec o sull didnt feature 2day atall? Johnny Buckley showed a lack of experience and confidence something that a intercounty forward at the highest level requires in that last incident. Where do Kerry go from here? What have they learnt from that game?? same ol same ol in my view... ??
