We've got the thread for players who did make it, now how about the ones that got away?
Seamie foley from laune rangers was in training but never got his place, brian hickey as well is a great player who failed to make it, john egan from ardfert has been key to their success and is still young but could still get his chance

John O Connor and Gareth Walsh played in the league for Kerry but they never got a permanent panel place. Brian Dennehy was another who I thought would definitely make it.

Garret Walsh was always too small for intercounty senior standard. He was a good player when the green won the munster in 2000, thats bout all. Was he even a starter fr kerry under 21's? Hes gone back to churchill now anyways. John O Connor was never senior standard material either. Stingers from the rock is a great player and a real tigerish defender. the only prob is that he is a bit on the small side not that youd notice the way he throws himself into tackles. I always thought mikey collins should have got sum sort of run in training with kerry. He was outstanding in the stacks march to the final conty final there a few ears back. Has great pace and definitely one of the most balanced and nippy plyers in the gooch mode. I wonder in a couple of years time will we be including declan quill in this thread??

ATW,Jack says in his book that Mikey Collins was training with the seniors for a while. Mikey was some player alright.. his problem may have been that he was too small physically.

Collins is someone who I actually never rated. There was also a time when there was 2 P Galvins floating about Kerry u-21's/Juniors. Wonder whatever happened the 2nd P Galvin, remeber he was 20/21 n absolutely turned a Kerry Junior/u-21 game against Cork( ).

Top class player, there was the whole moving to Wville controversy though and i dont think he plays much anymore. Saw him one time kicking a 45 off his right and in the second half kicking another off his left. Top stuff altogether. There was another lad there, martin shea, great talent except he couldnt tie his shoe laces without breaking something, very injury prone, not sure if he still plays..... he was another i thought would go a long way.

I think I know the man your talking about, seemed to break an ankle once a season. He definately had the ability to make it big if injuries had allowed him to!

I read a good article about Noel O' Leary in the Sunday Tribune. He was talking about the All- Ireland minor winning side he was part of back in 2000. Does anybody know what happened to the star player of that side Conrad Murphy. He was a huge prospect but he disappeared of the radar completely?
