Great article, well he took on everything I've been saying so its only natural............. Potentially all Quarter Finals could be epic, but with respect to Longford and all others Armagh-Kerry is the Rumble in the Jungle that we all want to see. I agree that Ulster has slid back, Cork have improved alot, and wont lie down after one (two!) big performances this time...... Leinster has improved alot too, in ways. Dublin paid it alot of respect..... Galway are like the France of Gah football, they are tottering along through the old age of their great stars, with loads of young talent not quite fitting in, but you feel the old guard have always had one last great championship burst in them, nothing to lose. Mayo are the team with more in :Pcentive than anyone, and the least hype. Laois are on a mission for redemption. Donegal & Fermanagh will have no fears

Hey lads,
Go to Killarney on Saturday in droves. Forget about the cows or milk them later on! Mike Frank to start in the corner and Marc O'Shea on the half-back line. Donaghy in full forward. ???? Austin Stacks Abu, are you out there anywhere. Miss the crack already with you.

The PA announcer didnt know the team before the game in Cork until the last minute so expect more of the same the next day. Does this mean the management dont know the best team to pick themselves?

Says in this morning's Irish Times that the team will be named tomorrow night after training. We shall see. The circumstance was different the last day what with suspensions and injuries and it being a replay.

There are a lot of questions going into Saturday. We could see a new full fwd line with Star on edge of square and MFR in the corner. The make up of the half fwds will also be interesting. The form of Brosnan is a worry. Longford though are the type of team he could do well against. Paul Galvin is the only starter for cetrain. It could be a big day for Tommy Griffin (has he ever made a championship start?). I've always been impressed with him when he comes on. He was very unlucky a couple of years ago to get injured after a good league. Also I was a bit concerned about Mike Mac's form the last day. we know its in him so lets hope the extra two weeks have helped. A good start is vital on saturday. We can expect Longford to be very fired up for the battle. We cannot let them develop a head of steam. If we do we'll struggle again. I'd be condident that if we are the better team after 20 mins we'll win the game.

They were training.
Lined out as follows Diarmuid, Marc, Mike Mac, Tom Sul, Tomas, Seamo, Aidan, Dara. Tommy Griffin, Paul Galvin, Bros, Darren, Gooch, Donaghy, MFR. Dec Sul and Fitz did not take part in game but were present. Hard to judge the mood but I think I have seen it better.

What way do they line out in training, do the first 15 play the full length of the field together or are the starting forwards marking the starting backs??

:-/Why are the Kerry Minors & Juniors playing in Ennis on Sunday? Wouldnt it be better for everyone, and really swell the crowd a bit, if they were on before the seniors on saturday

Sure theres only one team who get "home" games for all ireland finals etc!

As predicted. Looks like a strong team to me. My only worry is whether Griffin can do a job midfield. He is not the biggest lad and we struggled the last day against cork when Dara did not have someone to jump with him.

Fair Play to Jack for making the changes. Please god now Gooch, Galvin and Brosnan can recapture there form from the past 2 years. Delighted to see a change at full forward. MFR to grad his chance and score 1-03.

Well I don't think there can be too many complaints about that team selection! Finally a bit of sense been shown. Maybe Jack has been reading some of the posts on this fourm!!!! ;D ;D
Now up to the boys to perform.
What the tactic with Donaghy full forward?? High ball in and let Gooch & MFR fed off the breaks? Donaghy sure as hell not going to score!!
More excited about this game than the replay thats for sure!!!

I'd say his there strictly to win the ball and have the 2 boys feed off him. He is a man that knows his not a prolific scorer. His pass to gooch in league semi final was evidence of that. Plus his basketball skills will come into action Sat when he distributes the ball. Also Delighted for Tommy Griffin Very unlucky 2 years when getting injured before the Dublin game which he would have surely started !!

The Gooch is captain - hopefully this honour will help him re-capture his form.
Brosnan is lucky to be on the side given his displays to date - surely if he doesnt perform from centre forward on Sunday he wont be in the side should we advance to meet Armagh.
I think this is a brave call by Jack. He is obviously stung by the criticism of the last 4 displays and has made some very brave decisions - no player from South Kerry (who've won the last 2 county championships least we forget) and dropping his captain and clubmate.
I'm hoping for a good display on Saturday, get the old buzz back again. After all the doom and gloom so far we've still got a great chance of winning Sam, its just a case of getting back on track and I'm confident we can do just that. C'mon the Kingdom!

Well we can't complain now this is the team most of us "experts" wanted we will see how it performs.
Good luck to the lads.
Its tough on Declan and Sheehan to be dropped hope they will fight their way back (like Galvin last year after being dropped for the Mayo game)
Eoin Brosnan is lucky to keep his place: lets hope he uses his reprive to make a big impact
Im really looking forward to this one.
