Cork are not a bad side but have one problem.............They have only one scoring threat up front and when he is held they are finished. Just like Kerry this year with Gooch off form we are a very limited set up. Cork in the same boat if Master the Master as a bad day at the office or is held by his marker.

Ah jaysus would yis stop! I agree, Cork will not want to allow what happened last year and 2000-and-whatever to happen again ie. fading badly after Munster. They do seem stronger even from during the League. Also, as somebody else said, their style might actually be suited to playing Armagh more than others, if they get to meet them. Donegal are still largely unproven too, though have been knocking on the door quite a while. A hard one to call that. Cork would have revenge over Fermanagh in mind............

I know Cork are not a one man team, But the Loss of Canty for the year is just too much of a huge blow. He is easily the best player on that team. I think they will struggle against Donegal or Fermanagh. They are totally going into the unknown there.

I wasn't at the Munster final or didn't see any highlights so from reading this thread i'm guessing that Cork were at around 90% that day and we were at 60%? Because they beat us by 6points! I don't know much about this newlook Cork team but i think its a bit unfair that they are being totally written off here. They probably have an easier passage than us into the semi final.

Massive loss alright. He was outstanding on Gooch. It was a big call for Cork to leave Canty so deep in defence when he can be so influential further out. Bit like Seamus in 2000. Cork will not win it this year but a for sure a force to be reckoned with for the next few years. No harm either.

I didnt read Martin Mc Hughs article, but there is very little "junior" abou this Cork Team. They got rid of all their journey men and headcases ( Noel O leary immediately springs to mind).
Canty will be a huge loss.
I dont think they will win the Ai though.

Rashers Tierney
I was at the Harolds Cross Dog Races last wednesday and the Dublin Team (or a fair few of them were there and were made stand out in the middle with the cup and Cullen had to say a few word. The next night a few of them were at the re-opening of Kavanaghs Pub on the Malahide Road (Marino). Is that usual or is it a bit excessive for winning the Leinster Title.
I am not saying they were locked at either venue, but I never saw them parading a Provincial trophy around before.
Mind you they could have thought "that thick kerry eejit must be following us around"

He's still on the panel, but was out for the two Kerry games because of a virus.

Well if our lads are out parading Delaney about the place every night they must think they havent a hope of going all the way and we might as well let Cork & Armagh go at it. I dont know what's "usual" anymore with players/teams, I would have thought its odd to be doing that sort of stuff mid-champo, with the very big games about to start, that they should have the heads down, low profile, mind your business kind of stuff. Maybe they think its better to be out and up-front and thereby maybe even diffuse the whole hype a bit, I dont know. Have to say its been great the last 2 years to see the Leinster trophy being celebrated so well, I feel we've gone some way to restoring the honour back east and after all, every success should be cherished and never taken for granted. Or then again...................maybe theyre just not that desperate to win Sam, maybe a couple of Leinsters is making them feast like kings. Maybe for Mayo read Donegal 1992. Maybe I'm amazed............

changed times to see dublin celebrating the delaney cup in such a manner, yesterdays evening herald was completely covered in the sports section with dublin players parading the cup here there and every where. crazy stuff really, but sure keep it up lads we dont mind, imagine the hype that will be flying around the capital the week before the kerry dublin all-ireland final the week before the ryder cup,the place will be gone ga ga.how bad.

At least Delaney is a cup worth winning Changed times indeed. Lets hope the season continues to take off and the Ryder Cup & the Shamiership soccer are left in the ha'penny place!

I didnt realise O leary had a virus...I was told he was gone from the panel and presumed he was dropped... his return will be welcomed by me as he is a volatile headcase who is liable to get sent off at the drop of a hat. He is not a good enough player...Cork are better off without him, but dont tell Billy I said that.

Well Sully, it was on a lot of newspapers before the two matches about O' Leary being ill. I think you are being a bit harsh on him to be honest. Maybe that's how ye see him in Kerry.
