How many points from play did Canavan get in the '95 final? 1 or 2 I'd say.

The most that was ever scored by a single player in an all Ireland was by Billy O'Sullivan (Laune Rangers) in an under 21 all Ireland final in the early 90's against a Tyrone team that included Peter Canavan. Billy scored 4-01 from play that day.

Putting it mildly, people got their knickers in a twist about Man Utd doing what they did between 1996 and 2000. Kerrys achievements would put them in the ha'penny place. Real Madrid won the first five UEFA Cups as they were. Kerry were as good. Kerry from 1975-1986 under Mick O'Dwyer were the Real Madrid of soccer under Santiago Bernabéu from 1947-1978 , the Welsh team of 1974-1979 under John Dawes, the English Ashes team of 1983, the Green Bay Packers of 1961 - 1967 under the legendary (and overly quoted) Vince Lombardi. Quite simply put, they were the "winningest" team of their, or any generation. good post stacks, but i wouldnt dare attempted to insult the lads from the golden years by mentioning real madrid, man u in the same sentence.

Good point, but in reality, I can't think of another team that was as good in GAA terms. If your friend can't understand what Kerry achieved back then, then he'll have no hope if asked to compare it to the great Cork hurling team of the '70's, or the magnificant Galway football team of the '60's, both of whom achieved stellar three in a rows.

When Armagh have won 6 Leinsters in a row, and reached 6 All-Ireland Finals in a row, then he can talk

Come on rashers........winning 6 leinsters in a row in the late seventies was not that hard............meath, kildare, laois, were woeful. Only offaly posed any resistance and they were too young........ they eventually matured

Maurice in 97. He had a nervous first few minutes though. Up until he tangled with poor billy o shea who went off he had dropped a few balls. After that though he was genius.

I was more curious as to when Armagh was going to be part of Leinster.

We had softened them up for yis in 74. Meath and Kildare had good sides in the later 70s. As did Offaly (and the extra man!) in 79 In 74 we came from nowhere to beat the champs Offaly, after 4 games! To reach the final in 74 we beat the champs Cork, and then in the final, the previous year's finalists. In 76 we beat the champs in the final, and in 77 we beat Kerry again to get to the final. ;D We didnt have any back door chances.
