If I was Eamonn I would be packing my bags with the Kerry Senior Footballers. I think he has been moved from pillar to post to bench. Eamonn is hugely respected in his club Lixnaw/Finuge, great determination and heart. While Seamus Moynihan was out injured, Eamonn was fantastic, in contension for an All-Star at one stage but Seamus came back and there is no competition according to management. Eamonn is no forward, he drives from the backs or mid-field. It was an insult to even put him up in the forwards. He won All-Irelands minor, U21 & senior from his favourite position.

Fully support that kerryNorth, but it is hard on Eamonn. in saying that he is not a natural forward and if something should happen seamus than i think o mahony would fill the no 6 slot

Eamon Fitz had his chance to nail down a regualr spot in the forwards. he did faily well at centre forward during the league but when it came to the crunch in the league final against galway and in all the other championship games he has played he has been fairly poor and looked like a fish out of water. I would consider Eamon Fitz a back from now on and I would bring him before Mossy Lyons if there was a problem in the half backline.

the only place I would bring him on is at centre back though. You would have to put mossie in if you were changing a wing back, unnless of course you changed it all around in teh back 6.
fitzmaurice is unlucky but to say he should pack his bags is ridiculous. he is a member of by far the strongest division in Kerry, and probably the best group of 7 or 8 backs in Ireland. He is understudy to one of the greatest players ever to kick an O'Neills. He is unlucky but thats the way of it. he should keep his head down and plough on.

If it ain't broke don't fix it. Our backs were damn good against Cork the last day despite adverse conditions.
Fitzmaurice is a great sub to bring on (as a defender) if the chips are down or even as a midfield option if Tommy is under pressure.

i'd still like to see fitmaurice at the heart of the kerry defence,i think we could still accommodate our seven defenders, seamus could still play that sweeping driving role from wing forward by dropping back,i think we would be fairly formidable at the back then with two attacking midfielders and 5 out and out forwards, still though i think were moving in the right direction.

The experiment of playing eamon fitz at centre forward looked like it woz going to work but ended up backfiring for Eamon & the team. Jack O'Connor was genuine in trying it out but it just didnt work. It unsettled the forwards & Eamon didnt get a chance to pitch for his best position at centre back. I think there may be some logic to starting Eamon at centre back against Armagh for his physical presence. He won 2 All Irelands in the position & is Seamus really that much better than him at this stage? At the moment I feel this will be Eamon's last season with Kerry. He is a kind of player that would rather be playing club games with Finuge & getting back to playing a bit more hurling than sitting on the bench surplus to requirements.
