I just checked the team on the web. I heard someone on the radio this morning say that Marc OSe was playing corner forward. I nearly crashed the car. I can relax now

Brosnan wing forward when will we learn?? The only place he can play is centre forward end of story.
Who is D O'Connor corner forward? Dropping Noel O'Leary a bad move on Corks part

Owenabue, I'm poor on names but I've seen a few at U-21 level over the last few years that to my mind would beat your current senior midfield. I might be smiling on the other side of my face on sunday evening but I don't think Nicholas Murphy has turned it in for ye on big days anywhere near often enough. I can see him starting fairly well on sunday and fading dramatically. I'd go with at least one of this years Cork U21 team with Kavanagh for the sake of big match day experience (and to be fair to Kavanagh, hes usually not found wanting against Kerry). I'm sorry I can't give you more names but from what I've seen of your U21 teams over the last few years, theres more talent in the county than is finding its way on to the senior team. As I say, I think ye have a far more serious team out on sunday than ye had against Limerick. I'm outraged on the part of Billy that Niblock wasn't accomodated!

This will be a tight tense affair. Cork are tuned in for this one I have been told. It will be a very good test of Kerry. This Cork team are pretty OK.

Paul O'Connor !
Never heard of him before - Is he any good ? (I suppose he can't be too bad if he's on)
What age is he ?
Is he big, fast....what are his attributes?
Most importantly - Do you guys think he should be on before MFR & the others ?

He's not that tall Dermot, a lot of pace and a good eye for the posts. nice player. hopefully he will step up to the plate on sunday. I think he is worth a shot ahead of MFR yeah. he's shown more promise this year and is rumoured to be going well in training
hes about 20 by the way

Kerry minor the last 2 years and was on the Kerry U21 this year. Played corner forward on both teams. From Kenmare club. he's 19. fast, skillful and accurate. good free taker. temper is suspect.

does anyone think Bryan Sheehan would be better used on the 40. his lack of pace woudln't be shown up as bad there and he would deliver some lovely passes into the fullforward line. I can seem him struggling to get change out of Canty on Sunday. by the way what time is the minor match on?

FFS lads, have you signed a ringer ......................... If he looks like shrek and gets sent off after 5 minutes its gotta be Wayne Rooney with a false beard on.

This seems to be one of the youngest kerry teams sent out in years. Especially the forward division. We have a 19 year old corner foward a 21 one ear old full forward and a 22 year old that is basically going to carry the team if we are to win the all ireland. Our captain is 22 and playing at centre forward and a midfielder is only 22. The defecne is oold enough but its a terrible state of affairs in the county forward division where we're playing three young lads, (gooch is still a young lad) in the full forward line a young fella centre forward a converted wing back and brosnan who is really a midfielder there. That said kerry should still win on sunday by 4 points id say

i'd be surprised if Cork line out as selected and in the positions announced. Billy is a fav of sending out mis information in the media. last year wasn't it said that one of the midfielders was out for a few months due to injury, low and behold he starts a week later.
media misinformation is one of the tricks of a manager in trouble

I don't think Nicholas Murphy has turned it in for ye on big days anywhere near often enough. That was probably fair comment before last year, Joxer. Last year I'd go as far as to say he was Cork's player of the year by some distance. He had a good Munster final and played well against Galway. Like the rest of them, the semi-final is a game he'd do well to forget (after next Sunday). That was partly because the county that gave the game Mick O'Connell decided to abandon trying to catch the ball at midfield for the semi-final, he was playing alongside Kavanagh who was clearly not fit to start and he was being fouled a lot. He got an All Star nomination last year. He was injured for a lot of the league this year and he was missed.

I think its a great state of affairs that they ahve potentially 10 more years ahead of them, given all that they have done so far.

Well done Paul O connor on deservedly making the grade. Tough on Tom Sullivan. I'd've still put Moynihan centre forward and benched Brosnan, putting Aiden O Mahony centre back with Tom Sull in the corner...but the team we're putting out is still pretty good.

Question... This has been causing much debate in our house - could lead to some serious injuries! When was the last year that Kerry beat Cork in Munster Final in Fitzgerald Stadium? Most popular guess so far is 1998. Any thoughts?

was 1998 not the year that Clare beat Cork, and Kerry beat them in the munster final in limerick?

In for the breaks that was 1997 when Kerry beat Clare in Limerick with Pa Laide getting a great goal.
I think it could be back as far as 98 since Kerry beat Cork in a final in Killarney. Funny since we have picked up 5 Munster championships since that year.

To try answer cutekerryhoors question, in 1998 we beat Cork in the munster semi final, Maurice Fitz got the decisive goal following a long ball in from Fla. All the Cork fans were on the pitch behind the goal after too many tried to get in the terrace behind the goal. We went on to beat Tipp in the munster final in Thurles.
We've beaten them in munster finals in Cork in 2005 & 2001 and in earlier rounds in Killarney in 2004 & 2000.
We didnt play them in 97, beat them in Cork in the final in 96, suffered defeats in 93-95, beat them in the semi in 92 before losing the final to Clare, beat them in the semi in 91 before beating Limerick in the final.
We lost 87-90 finals. The drawn munster final of 87 was Mikey got the famous goal which I think was down in Cork with the replay in Killarney which Cork won. So that would make the last Munster final win over Cork in Killarney 1986 (or 85 if I got where the drawn game in 87 was played wrong). A long time ago!

You're correct that the drawn game in 1987 was in Páirc Uí Chaoímh so it must be 1986. Kerry are also trying to achieve something on Sunday which they haven't achieved in 24 years. What is it?

4-in-a-row in Munster although technically their last 4-in-a-row in Munster was 1978.

surprised to see tom sull not on is he injured? unlucky on him, good luck to paul o'c hope it works out for him, been going well in training from what i've been told, selectorsseem to be going on the form still - good but forwards this time i still don't know about.sorry tadgheen bout the paragraghs! once i start to ramble i don't seem to take notice. yer man who said i didnt know much wheni was on bout murray playin for cork, i meant that it wouldnt be surprising if it did get ugly on the day looking at history in terms of murray vs tom o'sullivan in '02, brosnan hopefully should be in better form on sun, declan should stay on the 40 he may actually begin to realze that he's needed upfront & not ramble off to the wild west, if not goig well how bout swap him & bros again & if that fails swap declan with sheehan

Cork believe that it is only fit and proper that we recognise the great Kerry achievements of four in a row Munster titles and 9 medals for the lads before the ball is even thrown in. We have therefore decided to design a once off commemorative kit for the occassion. Instead of the traditional red jersey and white shorts, the Cork team will line out on Sunday in white jerseys with red trim and red shorts. It is hoped that a comprehensive victory, such as the one being predicted, over a team wearing a kit like this in a final will enable the Kerry team to sleep easier at night.

Well we've done 4 in a row over Cork anyway since the semi final of 2002 with a combined total of 39 points between the sides in those 4 games. I'd say Cork will be happy with a moral victory on Sunday, like last years Munster final.

Two hands: your crowd took down their forum this week( before a Munster final!!) and this is the best you can come up with? A lame Tyrone jab? Jaysus Corks standards are really slipping.
Ye must be hoping your footballers can perform better then your wags on the terrace if this is the best ye can do!!
