Just packing up at work before i head up the N7. I have to say i am travelling more in hope than expectation. It will be a monumental achievement if we can pull it off but if any team can then its the Kingdom!!

I'm only mid way through the morning here - ah feck it lads and lassies, who'll I talk to now to keep me sane before the game tomorrow?
Trust me, the locals couldn't give a flying Billy Morgan how the Gooch is taking to captaincy, or what Enda McNulty will do to his crown jewels.
Will ye not stay on for a few hours till I get out of here and go for a few local brews to steady the nerves?

Anyway, to all of ye out the gap and on the road to Dublin, a few words of truth:
1) Take care on the roads - the Limerick bypass isn't a race track. 2) Make sure to have one in the Gresham about midday for me 3) Pay Flannerys a visit if we win 4) Pay Mulligans a visit if we loose (honestly, it's the best spot for a sour post mortem). 5) If we win, try and have an early Sunday breakfast in The Manhattan about 4, after stumbling out of Leggs. 6) Take in the double header on Sunday - it should be a cracker of a semi final. 7) If we lose, will somebody go into Riordans (?) opposite Matt The Trashers on the way home, and sing one verse of Gypsie Rover (Makem and Clancy style) in there while having dinner. It was the only thing that kept us sane on the road home in 2002.
Most importantly, get out every shade of green and gold you have and put them on. This is without a doubt the biggest game we have played since 2002. It's our final chance at redemption for the past four years of pain and misery (Mayo aside). Whatever our differences with management / players etc, now is the time to stand, sing Amhran na bhFiann (to the end) and then let one might guttural roar out of you.
COME ON THE KINGDOM.
Let rip boys and girls. Take care and have a sneaky Bulmers for me.

No, still there. It's where the following immortal line was heard about 4am the night we beat Mayo in the 2004 All Ireland Final.
Three Kerry men received their fries, asked for silence from those present while they said Grace, then said "In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen. Gooch, Gooch, Gooch. In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen".

Ok lads, time to finish up for the weekend. Not sure why but I'm feeling more confident about this as the weeks gone on. I thinks its gonna be a classic and can see us coming out of it with a 2 or 3 point victory, something like 1-13 to 1-11. Do us proud lads, we need a few more trips to Dublin before the end of the year. Ciarrai Abu.

Yeah I was there a few times in 2004 as well but when I tried the Manhattan the night before last year's final there was people on the streets laughing at me, saying it had been closed for months. I knew it was a bad omen!

fantastic memories Gawksie - I expect to see those gems floating around in emails over the coming weeks.....if we do the biz tomorrow that is. Absolute classic about the scoreboard in the milltown massacre. Will suss out from one of the county board about putting the golden years on dvd - maybe have their backing. They might make a few bob from it.

Well, good luck lads (Kerry & Armagh both) !
I can't wait for tomorrow - Its actually nice to be a neutral for this one !
I've admitted before that I expect Armagh to win but it's far from a sure thing - If Kerry start clicking again, you could do it - A big, big day from the Gooch and the likes of T O'Se is needed. You would also need to keep Clark and more so, McDonnell quiet - The latter is due a big day (the fecker can score goals out of nothing) but then so are some of your guys.
Good luck to all anyway and may it be injury free and amicable at the end.

Lads. Reading these comments is the only thing that has kept me sane all week - The one thing about being an exile is I always miss the build up for games the week before - although there is a lot of talk about this one in Dublin. Getting the rashers and sausages in this evening - the custom is a can of bulmers instead of tea in the morning!! Settles the nerves. I honestly think we can do it, I've great respect for Armagh but I feel we are going in as underdogs and if we can get the fast ball into the FF line damage can be done. Tomorrow is a day for Men - Tom Dara & Sé, Pony Tom Sullivan ,Galvin & Brosnan. Tommy Griffin has a big task in front of him but he has a lions heart and will give it his all. Gooch and Mike Frank must be sick of listening to negativity about their game and hopefully will silence the non believers. I agree that this is Kerry's biggest game since 2002 - It's not about All Irelands it's about Pride for the Green and Gold - I hope to GOD our tribe will flock to the Pale and the boys give it the best lash they can - No Surrender.

Stacks
I presumed that the Manhattan was closed down years ago. I cant believe it is still there. I was in there one night donkeys years ago and a big auld bloke who looked like Johnny Forty Coats was asleep at the table face down in his mixed grill.
That was back in the days when the Garda Club was popular, before the advent of late night pubs and places like Major Toms. If i even attempted to drink the amount we used to back then in the late 80's I would drop down dead. Thats probably a good thing really.
Its all fun and games until someone looses a liver.
Pass the wine please....hic

Just look at it from this short angle... Darragh O Shea..Moynihan...McGeeney, McGrane.. Two of these guys will be winners two will retire having lost to the auld enemy... Jeez the result of this one is HUGE

Stupid knee in the back by Galvin after seven minutes. Opportunistic and well taken goal by Brosnan.....bloody Setanta sports starting and stopping and Radio Kerry have lost contact with Liam and Weeshie so cracking up here.....
11 minutes gone. 0-2 Armagh 1-1 Kerry.

Goal by McDonald, high ball in, broken down, goal. Put it this way, text book.
1-6 to 1-3 after twenty minutes. Galvin acting the maggot.
And McGeeney having the game of his life.

Half time, 1-7 to 1-5 to Armagh. Two fantastic pieces of goalkeeping by Hearty to stop Gooch from a great goal and Mike Frank from a follow up to put it over the bar.
So, half time. Kerry are sruggling to win loose ball around midfield as many of us here feared. But, when they get high ball into Donaghy, it's working well, and has given us the scores. More of that please. The full back line are also under pressure from an on fire Stevie from Kileavy. Mike Frank is not having a pleasant afternoon unfortunatley.
Armagh look more settled, and have more players performing. Kerry are under pressure all over the field. But McNulty and Bellew are on yellow cards - will we utilise that fact?
But we're still in it, so here goes round two.

Our half back line is playing poorly. They are nolt coming back to help the full back line. They are been drawn out the field for Armagh to send in diagonal ball.
We need more direct ball into full forward line. Donaghy is destroying Francie. It's heart stopping stuff and the ref hasn't helped, either has Murphy giving a point to Armagh, nor has Galvin who wass easily pushed over the sideline giving ball back to Armagh.
A big effort required for second half and possibly some changes to half backline.
Come on Sean Sul , playing well.

Two minutes to go. Paul Galvin sent off for throwing a water bottle.....but:
Armagh 1-12 Kerry 3-12.
Cometh the hour, cometh the men.
An incredible goal by Darren O'Sullivan who came on for an injured Sean Sullivan, and a goal by Donaghy which Francie will have nightmares for years to come about.
I'm nearly crying with delight in the room watching it on the laptop. Declan on for Tommy Griffin and scored a good point, Bryan Sheehan, not sure who on for scored the point that put us four up and took the pressure off first. An incredible kick. Fitzmaurice on for Brosnan and scored a peach of a point.
Every man has stood up. Every man has played. I stand and apologise for the criticisms - this has been an incredible performance by Jack, the players and the bench. With the man down, Armagh have scored 0-2, Kerry have scored 1-3.
The final whistle has been blown.....Kerry have beaten the hoodoo. We have beaten one of the big Ulster teams. With direct, honest, hard football, barring one or two moments of stupidity. Mind you, Ciaran McKeever stamping on two Kerry men was filthy.
Hard luck Bigmac.
Kerry win by eight points. I'm dancing out here. Happy days. Now off to work!

Everyone wrote them off. Never were Kerry such underdogs going into a game. Well done lads. Ye have brough joy to the people of kerry. Colm o Rourke said it at have time, that the Kerry team were playing to restore the soul of Kerry football. And boy did they restore it. Well done. A fabulous second half. Special mention to the O'Sheas. You write kerry off at your peril. What a way to anwser the critics!

Watched here in NY surrounded by orange jerseys.
Sweetest victory in the last ten years. Huge performance by Dara, stepping up to the standard set by his little brother (what a dummy for that point by Marc!). Delighted for all the lads, Sean did well on his first start, tomas showed some form, all the subs that came on contributed... there will be some competition for places now....
Lets hope we get another craic at Cork... off to watch that now

Was about to head out the door with my 12 year old daughter to go to Croker when she got sick.............. I couldnt go without her so I stayed at home and watched it on the telly!!
Where would we be without the O Sheas............ i keep saying it.
A bit of me feels for Armagh.....they deserved two all Irelands but..........their half forward line was poor. Forwards win matches. Donaghy has everything.......... guts, football, a bit of temper......... Gooch is improving........
Finally lads.........Jack et all............ thank you for standing your ground and fighting for that fabled green and gold gansey........... its worth fighting for.............. We are a proud race.
Mickmack
ps....... the daughter is fine ........ Darrens goal saw to that.
also..... we need a freetaker playing the next day......... Bryan Sheehans feee was like a stake thru the Armagh hearts.

Two fears before the game: Donaghy looking like BAMBI on ice on the ground and Francie Bellew standing over him like the Lion King. The memory of Tomás storming off in Killarney.
Abiding memories of this game. Donaghy in Heartys' face after sticking it. JOC in Dara O Sés' arms after the final whistle.
