Can anyone tell me which of the Kildare players from 1998 final were from outside the county. I know Brian Lacey is from Tipp and Karl is from Kerry. Who else (is that it?)
Christy Byrne; Brian Lacey, Ronan Quinn, Ken Doyle; Anthony Rainbow, Glen Ryan, John Finn; Niall Buckley, Willie McCreery, Declan Kerrigan, Dermot Earley; Martin Lynch, Karl O'Dwyer, Padraig Graven.

That Murphy fella, was it Brian. He played underage for Cork I seem to remember, was he sub on that team for the final. He scored two goals against Dublin I think.

Conor O'Shea Rugby international now pundit is a son of Jerome O'Shea who played in the 40/50s for Kerry I think. He was a Caherciveen man. Aeroplane O'Shea played for Kerry in the 30s. Kieran Moran is a Derrynane man. I think he was the minor goalie in 85 and the U21 goalie in 87 and 88.

thats good enough. I was complaining that they were like the united nations (hence the white jersey) and got shot down for it. 4 imports on a panel is significant to hold up my argument.

There's another former kerry player who played for cork under larry thomkins, james o shea. there's an interesting story, both james shea and the murphy lad both won an all-ireland medal for kerry the same day as team mates on the last kerry team to win the minor all-ireland in'94. the story goes,i'm not sure if it was a national league game or a challenge game, cork were playing dublin in parnell park, james shea was playing for cork and murphy was playing in goals for dublin. After a ball was cleared from the dublin goal mouth one of them turned to the other and said,"did we ever think it would end up this way."

i doubt it. Dan is a good goalie but he wasn't on the kerry panel ever when he was with desmonds. Plenty good goalies in Dublin i'd say. Dan was on the kerry minors and u21s i think? not sure though.
