Jasus I put up a post this morning on this topic and it was deleted by Admin so obvously not that hair brained!!! What does this mean for tickets??? have Ky's and Ck's been allocated and dispatched and will Mayo and Laois be left with the rest? ? or are they all back in the melting pot..hope GAA have thought this one through and we do not end up in chaos..although in fairness it will not be a sell out....

Well , tickets have been issued already , have mine in hand . So I presume they will reissue tickets for the empty areas to Mayo / Laois .

Chances are that before the need for a replay they were only going to open certain sections of the ground. Very often they don't bother opening the upper canal or part of hill16. Kerry will have been issued tickets already I'd say. I wouldn't worry too much, sure yesterday didn't sell out either 70,000 at it i think.

So the poor Minors now have to be shoved on earlier, meaning Kerry fans have to come up earlier, and some of the Kerry trains don't come up until nearly midday anyway.
So, in other words, screw the Kerry minors and the Kerry fans who want to see them.
Well done GAA, smart lads really when you think about it.

its a bit crap alright. Will be sitting in Croke park for about 5 hours to watch all that football. and what happens if the Mayo Laois games needs extra time. its a daft decision really.

The downside is that the minor game will be on fairly early but the good thing is that we will be able to see Ross Munnelly and Ciaran McDonald in action. never seen Ross play apart from on tv so it a welcome bonus. We always on about getting ripped off with the price of tickets but here a chance to get our values worth

I'd actually prefer if the Kerry v Cork game was on at 2pm. It would mean much better support for the minors. Kerry have already shown they've no problem playing at the earlier throw in time as well.

lads it doesnt matter if we are real supporters we'll be there for the minor match, support micko for the first senior match cos he a legend to the green and gold and then support our boys, it will also mean about 30000 more people there great for atmosphere, for me its a good call by the gaa

Have to disagree with you seamusdarby, I would call myself a 'real' supporter and have been to all Kerry games but I think it's very unfair on Kerry fans who will be trying to get up to support the minors at 12.30. This means an extremely early start for any of us who can only travel on the day. Think they have really let down the minors too by changing the fixture. Plus, there will now be 5 out of the 6 teams hitting Dublin from the same direction!!

The 4pm is a bit late alright for people to be heading home after esp on a Sunday. Fine for me living in Dublin but I don't envy my family who will hit the road straight after (lot of traffic on M7) drive for hours then work next morning....ouch! Having said that I had a fair few trips down home already this summer so what goes around etc

What time does the train arrive above because it might be a struggle to get to minor game especially if you want decent meal before you start the day.

Tickets on ticketmaster are the worst in the world with 4 euro booking fee. Right down at the end of Cusack and Hogan and at the side of canal. Hill for me methinks.

Can we please stop complaining!!! Jesus H C are we not getting to watch what should 3 cracking games of football?? Sure if the kerry game was fixed for 2 wouldnt we complaining that we were not topping the bill???
I agree fully with Seamus Darby.... The atmosphere would have septic on Sunday if the Gaa had not made this move..reckon the crowd would not have exceeded 25-30k..
I'd also imagine we'll find a lot of Dublin neutrals going as well to check out the opposition! Should be closer to 60k people there now.
As for having the game at two what about the Mayo supporters having to travel back to Mayo so late???
Should be a great weekend --- Snow patrol on Saturday followed by 3 crackers on Sunday.....

Looking forward to games on Sunday but do think GAA are taking a risk with regards Mayo v Laois which could end in a draw and push Kerry/Cork game back half an hour or so.
Long day for those makng the day trip but no excuses with 3 cracking games in store.

in fairness, which position would u rather be in - trying to decide how to travel to semi, or sitting at home, ur team having been knocked out ages ago? "how do i travel to dublin?" is not such a difficult decision!

Moved posts:-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Match times Post by Mickmack on Today at 19:19What will happen if Mayo and laois draw.......... extra time as someone said earlier in another thread..........this isnt funny.......... Can we petition the GAA to put the Kerry-Cork game on at 2pm? What can we do Admin? Fans will miss trains home etc. Who agrees? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Re: Match times Post by kerrygold on Today at 19:43good points mickmack, the way it stands there will be no one at the minor match,if they were first and second games more kerry people would turn up for the two games. as you say a mayo and laois draw, very possible, could be a disaster for train times and would be disrepectfull to the two counties competing in an all-ireland semi final whom should have the ground to themselves. the roscommon, meath minor match is now moved to the following sunday, having origionally being fixed for this date was moved to next sunday and now back to the following sunday. Now you are going to have six counties looking for tickets for sunday week, the tommy murphy cup final is also fixed for sunday week, when the dubs alone would have filled croker. looks like things havent been very well thought out at head quarters, what do you do, limit the allocation for the TMCF,not promoting the competion then. cant get all the dubs in,not promoting football in the capital, the unwanted meat in the sandwitch, the 4 minor teams cast aside like eritating pissmirers on a mohill. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Re: Match times Post by Mickmack on Today at 19:48As long as Dublin are accomodated with Croke Park to themselves what else matters............ There is no reason why the match times on sunday cant be switched........ if enough people complain -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Re: Match times Post by duaghexile on Today at 20:24A very bad decision to split the two Kerry matches. Replay should have been on 3rd. What will I do during the replay match.... knit a jumper.... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- :moved posts

I just rang Croke Park and expressed my concerns that Kerry fans may miss the train etc if Mayo and Laois goes to extra time.
I was told if it goes to extra time......the Kerry v Cork game will start at 4.10 at the latest as extra time involves two periods of 10 minutes with a quick turnaround.
Because the Kerry/ Cork game is a semi final it will get "main event" status of being the second senior match.

to be honest i dont think its the getting home is the problem for most people, its the getting there on time for the minor game that is the main problem, what about people who have to travel from south kerry and south cork, and what about people who are bringing children with them. The GAA dont give a damn about this, the main thing they are worried about is having to pay for for Stewards for 2 days, and insurance etc etc, I will be there for the minor as am leaving home at 6. will be wrecked the monday, but as you say, its for the pride of seeing your county play against one of their greatest rivals, supporting the minors and watching what promises to be a cracker of a replay. Just think about the players having to to go to their jobs the day after nearly every game. they do it and they do it for the Pride of been able to play for their county. Nothin better than wearing the Green and Gold
