kerry beat one of the percieved top three in their last game, its unlike that they will come up against inside forwards like mcdonnell, clark and osin again this year.
i expect the kerry full back to rise to the occassion the next day,if they dont we have no business dreaming about all-ireland glory.
i hope seamus will be able to stay with his man on the burst.

I get you’re point about Armagh. We can agree to disagree on that one.

Agree with Kerrygold on this one - I'm a bit surprised by people having a go at Tom Sull & Mike Mc cos of their displays against Armagh (I Know Mike Mc was poor v Cork in the replay by Tom Sull was probably the best back in that game). They're not going to come up against players of the quality of Ronan Clarke (who was superb) and McDonnell (who rediscovered his form in that game) for the rest of the year.
Theres no way Kerry are going to be complacent going into this game. Thats giving the players and management no respect whatsoever. Cork beat us only a few weeks back and I'm sure the fall out from that game will give Kerry an even greater edge to their game. If we are beaten on Sunday it wont be cos we were outfought, thats for sure.
I do think that Kerry are coming to the boil at the right time, have a bit of the swagger back (that was so absent in May, June & July) and should come out of a fierce battle on Sunday with 4 or 5 points to spare.

One of the reasons which made Kerry’s victory so special two weeks ago was because Armagh DID bring their A game. It was hard to fault Mike McCarthy and Tom Sullivan in the first half as the ball going in was of top quality, near impossible to defend against. Ronan Clarke and Stevie McDonnell are also two of the best inside forwards in the game with Clark having a Player of the Year championship campaign. Kerry’s two points before half time were crucial as we deserved to be down more. When we upped the tempo in the second half Armagh could not live with us, no team could. Armagh would have preferred to slow down the game to their own pace as they usually do but it never happened, Kerry finished the half as strongly as they started. Regarding Mossie, I feel he is two slow for championship football and with Seamus losing a step or two we cannot afford to have Mossie on also. As for the game next Sunday I was way more fearful of Cork last year. This time they will face a more in sync and more fired up Kerry team than five weeks ago. Kerry by 4.

Think some people here are being very harsh on our back line, after the munster final many people here spoke of them as possibly the best back six in the c'ship. and our only problem being how to get the forwards to click. now the forwards have got going somewhat the backs are being criticised. unfair i think.
In my opinion up to the Longford game they were our only sliver of light from the munster c'ship. Admittedly they played poorly against Longford, and for periods in the first half against Armagh(a half in which our center back set up our first goal!). But really tightened up in the second half kept Armagh to 6pts (i think, maybe 7). Not bad considering they traditionaly play a much better second half over the last few years.
Our backs playing a game and a half not at full tilt is much less of a worry than the fact that our forwards have played only a one and a half good games, and the one full one against Longford.

The only change I would like to see on the team is positional. Mark O Se is the best wing back in the game, he has now surpassed brother Tomas. Let the opposition worry about us and Mark would be a thorn in Corks side with his attacking abilities. If we go all the way and Mark keeps performing he is a shoe in for Player of the Year.

From what i see on the rival web sites i notice a massive confidence in their team on the kerry gaa forum and over on rebel gaa there is a slowly growng confidence behind their team.It has the makings of a great game .As a rebel i believe that if CORK win midfield we will win . p.s. let us all take it easy on the roads over the week end an may we all be around again to debate the next episode of the long running Cork V kerry saga.Who knows it may even be next saturday week.
UP THE REBELS and as my aunt would say may the best team win as long as they play in red.

Be safe on the road boys and girlies. Will be watching in on the laptop with Radio Kerry open in the background. Can't do a tap of work today with the nerves.

Just got my new jersey for Sunday. Wasn't too keen on it earlier in the year but it has grown on me. Got new flag for the car (some C**t broke my last one leaving me with only a stick. I wonder was it the same pr**k who broke my wifes special olympics flag a few years ago). Just put the big flag out the upstairs window. Ticket is got. Ready for the off.
Might go to Fagans afterwards, it was almost empty after the Armagh game. Hope to have a good result. A few posts earlier put things into perspective....
Return safely to your families, no matter where you are from.

Mike Frank must play tomorrow - this is his opportunity to shine as he did in the past. Everyone is focused on the Star - time for the other forwards to take the pressure of the obvious man that will be marked in front and back.....

Half time, Kerry three points up and beginning to come into it. Darragh O'Se won the early battle with Murphy but Murphy is beginning to come back into it after a warning from Bannon to O'Se about being too close to . Galvin winning a fair amount of loose ball and giving trouble down the wing.
Gooch and MFR started coming into it late in the half with a magnificant point by MFR followed by a wonderful free from Gooch. Donaghy isn't getting enormous amounts of high ball in, but he is proving that he can do more than just catch clouds by feeding off some good passes too.
We've finished the stronger in the first half. Cork selector on the radio moaning that Nichlos isn't getting enough protection, nice come back by Ger O'Keeffe saying that he hopes Kerry aren't playing the cynical football Cork think we do!!

Cork 0-10 0-16 Kerry.
Kerry are in their third consecutive senior All Ireland football final.
And a real Gooch point to finish it off. Darragh O'Se, Donaghy and Moynihan in the second half particularly were very strong. MFR had a very solid performance and deserves plaudits for beginning to rediscover the old spark. Declan O'Sullivan also worked very hard when he came on. Still some dodgy moments at the back, but we're the first team since the Cork team of the early nineties and the second since the Golden years to contest an All Ireland final in three consecutive years.
I've my plane ticket bought - the All Ireland weekend awaits!
I cannot wait.
COME ON THE KINGDOM.
