does anybody think that somebody seriously needs to grow a brain in croke park when it comes to allocating tickets in croker? i maybe be biased, but kerry always seem to get crap tickets when it comes to games in croke park. take the minster final for instance, kerry had half the stand and half the terrace, near the town end, cork had the opposite half. next sunday, what are the odds that kerry and cork fans and now laois and mayo for that matter, will all be thrown in with each other, with no large clusters of one county together, the 1/4 final was proof of this, with kerry fans in small groups all over the place and no really large groups. It would make sense on sunday, to have all the kerry fans say in the hogan stand and then all the cork fans in the cusack, and then leave the rest of the ground for who ever else wants to go, that would create a better atmosphere. dont get me started on the finals, all the prawn sandwich brigade will get the good tickets in the cusack and hogan while us, the real fans, are stuck up high in the canal end. another question, will the dubs get favouratism for the final if they get there? well they shouldnt, they should have one section of the hill and then the other county gets the other half. if they got the hill to themselves, then thats their full allocation used up, well it should be anyway. but nothing would surprise me with croke park.

Unable to swap tickets at cork game Post by mossiemag on Today at 7:43
Lads, I was at at the semi final last sunday and heading up to Dublin had two tickets for lower hogan on the goal line. When i got there the tickets being sold were of far better quality, ie upper cusack middle of the field.
The offical gaa selling box would not swap them for me. I understand that they have to be careful as regard fake tickets but surley now with scanning tickets and reference numbers it would be possible to verify if a ticket was real or not.
Also as the game was not a sell out, what was the big deal? I know it would cause mayham if everyone was trying to swap tickets, but if it was limited to those in poor sections of the stands?
I got my tickets from a club, does it not make sense to give the clubs the best tickets in the house?
Has anyone any toughts?

I got tickets from Club and also were hogan goal line...the thing that confused me was that the tickets were allocated to Cork and Kerry before the Mayo v Laois game was scheduled for the same day but looking around Croker there were loads of Laois and Mayo fans in perfect seats in Cusack and Hogan, i.e. centre of field, now do not get me wrong I do not begrudge them that, but it does not make sense...def something rotten in the state of Denmark regarding allocation of tickets....

bally, of course it makes sense. they obviously recalled the tickets and allocated them to Mayo and Laois. They were hardly going to leave the middle of both stands to Kerry and Cork, and give Laois/Mayo the davin stand only! There would be something rotten if Laois and Mayo didn't get some decent seats, not the other way as you say.
& I'm sure they hadn't planned on opening the upper tier at all when it was only Cork and Kerry - so only lower tier was distributed among clubs at the start, and then when the upper was opened, it was too late to take back.
Anyway, as for the swaps, it's poor enough that the ticket box wouldn't do a direct swap. I know refunds etc are not allowed, but where the quality of seats is so different, they should be willing to look after you. Maybe the scanning of tickets is the problem - since they no longer takes the stubs off they are afraid of taking back a tickets that might have been already scanned or something! - i.e. some fella kicked out or something! who knows.

the dubs will get everything they want. the gaa love them. thats why we all hate them. my girlfriend got tickets from her club in kerry for us for the semi and they were the best tickets i have ever had in terms of view. right on half way in the upper cusack. the only bad thing was that i was out numbered by kerry fans significantly at the semi final for the second year running.
if the dubs get to the final the gaa will swing some trick to get them more tickets. otherwise they would kick up stink. they think its their divine right to get 90% of the tickets. i hope mayo catch them out today.
