Have watched this show regularily enough over the past year or so.
I must admit that while it is watchable (and definitely has a future), it could do with a bit of fine tuning over the coming years.
It is so blatently trying to copy the great Soccer AM its cringe worthy but I suppose its just natural that you'll try and copy a tried and tested successful format.....
I was wondering can the great minds here at the kerry Gaa web site think up of any (realistic) gimmics/ideas to make the show better..
Secondly, I reckon it would be a good laugh if the Kerry Gaa web-site put together a team to go on the show the morning of the match!!
PS: Great to see the great Frank and Walters on the show last night! Anyone notice the slogan at the bottom of my posts for the last 2 years!!!

yeah, it's ok, it's just lacking something isn't it? I think it might be the presenters. it's a good idea, as you say it needs some fine tuning.
they could have some sort of obstacle gaelic course that people compete in each week and times are taken ala Top Gear

It could do with some decent more professional presenters, the guy on it has no presence.

Hector would an ideal presented in my opinion.....

Hector would be good alright, although he could get a belt from some of the clientelle that they invite on if he started acting the tool.
I caught the tail end of it alright - The Franks were superb.
Instead of having the tiny target thing, they could do a pre-recorded bit where players are trying to kick over 45s (or puck 65s) or something to that effect.

Is there any skills competition on the program for footballers? Watched it last night and you had coman goggins up against 3 intercounty hurlers pucking a sliotar against a target, not really a level playing field.

Yeah there is usually a football comp aswel. Its true that there is something missing in the show alright.I think two new hosts would sort out a lot of it.Our own Dara O Cinneide,or someone like Darragh Moloney might be suited to something like that.I really used to enjoy Breaking Ball which ran for 4 or 5 years, was fast paced and to the point,a lot of Park live is drivellous and unnecesary. what do ye think of the dream team of Marty and Jer as hosts, could u imagine the pain of actually havin to look at them aswell.

God hector would be awful. He knows sweet FA about GAA. Gilroy's best asset is his substantial knowledge of sport in general but especially GAA. The show on NewsTalk106 every evening that he came from is top class. Any of ye not in Dublin like myself are in for a treat when they go national. Its inteligent and entertaining for 3 hours every night, really top notch analysis. Gilroy put it together but is on the show less and less these days. I'll admit he is much better on radio than TV but I think the big drawback for the TV show is the audience. They sit in silence except for the odd roar when their county is mentioned or they see their club chairman on screen.

Hector craves attention for himself.
Not a suitable candidate me thinks

Hector's definately not suitable. The presenter thats there is not too bad, apart from the fact that he looks like he's just out of bed! They need to interact a bit more with the crowd though to get them a bit more involved. All in all i think it was a success, having people like Kevin Doyle of Reading and co is the best way to get young kids attention. They managed to get a lot of decent people to appear on the show throughout the year.

They have gotten into trouble a couple of times this year for insulting the hierarchy of the GAA and interviewing a Black man in the zoo (infront of the tigers enclosure mind you).
For the few times I saw it I quite enjoyed it.
Gilroy is very knowledgeable but not as sarcastic on TV as he is on radio. Even your wan Ni Hormaon is better on this than on that crap they had last year, I have even forgotten the name of that programme....."It was Gaa but not as you know it".
It could be worse...Jim Kearney and Brian Carthy could be on it.

If they want to copy the Soccer AM format they could do worse than get a couple of Soccerettes! I like the show, but Gilroy always seems to be trying too hard, he's not comfortable enough yet. And why get an audience from a club in, only to ignore them and their club?

a few soccerettes would be the job. but they would probably end up getting some girl with an offaly accent and jersey...that just wouldnt work!! it should be good this week with the AI preview. the crowd is useless, all they do is shout when one of there players is doin the skills challenge.

Walter you know my opinion on this show its a load of horse manure.. There is so much scope for a good show here but RTE have decided to try and copy everthing from Soccer AM!!

There was a couple of comogie-ettes on the Sunday Game last night. Made a nice change from looking at Tony feckin Davis and Tommy Lyons! Altough rumour has it that Tony spent a lot longer in the make up room that either of the comogie girls did before last nights show.

Jesus, they'll need an extra wide lens on the camera to fit Denis Carroll's tree trunks of legs on the screen! Who's taking part in the skills competition?

By the way Wville are definately on parklife tonight any idea who is on topcat? I thought it was the team but ive been told its Paddy Curran and some club officials. I saw a few of the players around today so i doubt they'll be doing the skills challenge! Unless they put Paddy at it... we'll wait and see, its on now shortly
