Our full back line ain't bad - Hugh reads the game well but is a little slow but a good marker. Brian Gleeson has pace to burn and is sticky and has adapted to this new role excellently and Lynch is a Kerry minor who has bags of pace and is useful with the ball in hand. Probably a little suspect under high ball but these 3 are deffo good enough to serve us well in the league.

Plus its start of year. Intermediate is a tough one to call - a lot of teams on a similar level with some tricky ties. We'll take it a game at a time, the first one will be as tough as any.

Spa v's Skellig Rangers next fat tom..by all accounts from down south Skellig aren't going well..but they are prob one of the dark-horses of this league..a few teams will get a bit of a shock, if they are not prepared, when they will visit the southeners.was at this game last year and it was a good game..

Yeah it was a bad result for us away last year. With Stam and Niall not having a game the day before we should have enough in the tank. But it will be tough.

for me Annascaul are def the best team in the division, especially if they keep all of last years team. they were very unfortunate to be Relegated from Div 1,
i reckon Beaufort, Currow or Skellig for the trip down

i agree with stuckintipp, wasnt at the annascaul game but i heard dey were someting lik 1-10 to 0-1 up at half time, and dey were missing emmet kennedy at midfield,i no it was against beaufort tho, no disrespect intended. genie farrel stil 1 of the best around me thinks. great win 4 sneem also,i would hav put dem down as ones to struggle.

beaufort and currow will go id say...i no i mite ahve said otherwise before..but these two....are off the pace...currow days of grace have gone and now in a rebuilding period and beaufort can't seem to compete with teams...both i'm afraid if they go to div 3 could find going v.tough...skeligs might scarpe through cos of their home record...tough place to go too...and i fancy them to take pts in the south kerry derbys

We should beat Skellig at near full strength after a decent showing against Dingle.
But we won't take any team for granted.

I don't know lads..Spa aren't that mighty, no offence Fattom, i saw their game against Skellig Rangers and St Mary's last year and they seem to depend alot on Ross's free taking and that all depends on what knid of kicking form he is in...maybe im abit unfair..ilike the way the Spa club is doing so well especially for a killarney club where Dr crokes seemingly soaks up all the young talent, by all accounts..think ill make Spa v's Skellig game off this weekend, it's going to be a very interesting one..Dnt think Waterville will have enough for Annascaul, Paddy Curran isn't moving that well.Sneem will be too strong for fingue at home and St Michaels/Filemore will be too strong for Beaufort..Dromid just keep coming up with wins that i dnt expect, especailly in the last round away to Currow..

If you saw the game against Marys where we had 14 men for the majority of it and limited Maurice Fitz then you'd have notice far more than Ross Donovan.
Stam and Niall Mahoney were outstandings against Marys and Ivor Flynn and Kevin Healy dominated midfield in the air whereas Bryan Sheahan dictated the play in terms of ball carrying and his long range scores were excellent.
That was one of our best team performances all year and I don't think anyone at it could say we were relying on one player that day.
At full strength we are strong and will give anyone in the division a good game. We have 2 Kerry U21s in our forwards so the ammunition is there but saying that our panel isn't that strong and if we lose a few fellas to the states during the summer it could get tricky.
But reliant on Ross' frees (although they have been excellent) we ain't especially with Mike Stam and Niall Mahoney in our forwards.

I agree totally with you Fattom..im not taking anything away from Spa that day against St Mary's..I thought tactically ya were miles ahead..Brain Sheenhan tried to do too much and when he tried to carry the ball he was met full on by honest hard working players..think Ivor is not mobile enough, mobile midfielder would cause trouble..unlike Maurice on that day..In fairness Stam and Naill are massive players for ya but i still think Ross's frees get Spa through alot of games cause they have been excellant..Spa aren't totally reliant on Ross but even looking at the Dingle report while Spa did do well he seemed to keep them in the game with frees..saying that i know stam and Niall had games the night before..

True but a lot of them come from fouls on the two lads. Jeez I dunno how much you have seen of Flynn but mobility is one of his biggest assets he gets up and down the pitch with ease and has a tremendous engine.
I think another year or two in 2 would do us good - get our younger players up and running and more mature and we could be stronger.
We have a very young team by all accounts.

Ya they do draw the frees..I have seen a good bit of him (Flynn)..fine player and would challenge any midfielder in the county but i feel while he has a good engine, he is very one pace..which is that bit slow..Hope Spa go on and be a domiant team in Killarney. How you see other games going??Who do you fear the most??

matchspy100: Paddy Curran not moving well, funny considering there is only 5 games played this year and hes scored more then 1-7 in 3 of them from wat i hear.maybe at his standard that isnt good,i reckon waterville might give Annascaul a run for it but annnascaul should beat them,
Sneem Beaufort Dromid Dingle Draw Spa Currow

The field did not help the players as the game resembled a mud wrestling contest instead of a football match. Dingle showed strong resolve but little can be taken from the game.
