Commiserations on sunday from a rebel. Didn't ever seem to get a handle on the game. Can anyone settle an argument about where the boy wonder gooch cooper got his nickname. cheers Corky

a few yrs back there was a new doll called 'the goochie doll' it had red hair and big ears so his friends statred calling him gooch. and the name stuck ever since.

It's a right stupid nickname. He probably hates it. I never call him The Gooch, I just call him Cooper.

The name "Gooch" was given to him by the former Dr crokes goalkeeper Peter O' Brien back in the early 90's when Gooch used kick the ball out to the senior team while they trained!

a certain Larry from Listowel was the original Gouch, back in the 1980's!
