All social media records indicate that Joe O’Conner was head and shoulder above everyone else today in Killarney. Can anyone give the load down;.
Stacks are showing good form coming into their crunch first round clash with East Kerry, still if the favourites do retain their crown, it’s the Rockies that will be progressing in Munster.

He was good. Powerfully carried a lot of ball and kicked 3 points. Dylan Casey did a good job on Sean O’Shea although he did have plenty numbers around him. Michael O’Gara at wing forward is a player I like, smart on the ball and always moving. Stacks not having a player playing for Kerry is unusual but I think there’s a good chance that will change soon. Joe O’Connor will surely be given a good look next year. Casey might be worth a look in the backs and O’Gara possibly has an outside chance at wing forward.

Liam Carey too is showing great form for Beaufort - I’d like so see him have a right good injury free run with Mid Kerry.

Very good performance by him and very hard not to see him getting a serious run with Kerry - seems to have all the attributes needed. Beyond that it's hard to know who else Jack will call in - the starting point is whether he takes a scythe to the squad or whether he goes for a more conservative/gentle pruning approach initially. 6 out of the 25 players who featured in the championship are over the 30 year mark and once you cross that line, it's only a matter of time before the music stops in terms of an intercounty career. I could definitely see a few of the over 30 gang hanging up the boots. There's also a few of players who have been in/around the squad that I suspect might not suit Jack's taste so I would be expecting to see some lads thanked for their efforts. I went through the squad and the number that are 100% certs to be there is not huge - there was a good chunk of the squad that I would have said are more than likely to be there but I wouldn't be that surprised if a few of them weren't. A fair bit could depend on what happens at Special Congress next weekend - you'd have to think that Option B would allow more scope for experimentation/giving games to fringe players with 5 games against the other Munster teams than the 7 league games against Division 1 sides. The new calendar means that the McGrath is dead for 2022 in all scenarios (and I'd be surprised if they return any time soon given the approach from the Fixtures Task-force.) The fact that the Junior All-Ireland has been changed means that route for developing players who are overage for the U20 team. Also as someone pointed out to me, the fact that Tralee and CIT have merged into the MTU means that there are reduced opportunities for lads to develop playing third level football in those two institutions. It probably won't affect the more established youngsters but it reduces the chances of late bloomers catching the eye on the basis of 3rd level competitions a bit.

I thought Joe O'connor had a quite first half, think it was Griffin Wharton that was making him but he had a very good second half, Heinrich was very good when he came on for Brendan Ó'Sullivan and he's a great build of a young fella, Quilter got 3 good points when he came on although kenmare were down to 14 after Ó'Sullivans red card, Stacks could well beat East Kerry in 2 weeks.

Maybe I should rephrase it, think we need him more at 10 or 12,bit like Diarmuid O Connor...would he do more damage further up the pitch

K'boy, any talk there of Mark O'Conner lining out against Mid Kerry over the weekend?
