On Howard I have watched him in a few Sigerson matches, has played well in CF and HF and but struggles as straight defender. Cannot see us starting TW and DC together as they are poor chasers. I would like to see GOS on for GW, he is fast, good tackler and can score. Sounds like a very good candidate and may fit the bill Surprisingly hasn’t got much game time yet which is a minus but the management know what they have by now and may give him a job to do The little bit of time he did get he seemed to be tuned in right away always looking for work . Why not .

Enquiries indicate it is fake. Program is not anywhere near printed yet.
That's not to say Connolly wont replace Small as I said earlier his thumb is strapped up.

I know this is a bit off point but while I remember it, Babs Keating was interviewed on TG4 at Listowel Races yesterday and the conversation turned to Tipp. He revealed that they have a backroom team of 21 while the panel is 40 - his concern is that so few counties can afford this. Anyway lets park that for now!

In Final last Sunday week Mark Griffin came on in last minute or two that gives and idea of the pecking order in our defenders That’s puts Mark ahead of Shane and Graham but I suppose it depends on the job at hand neither Jason nor Brian nor Gavin W are sure to start so it will be interesting no doubt . I think this next game is going to be a shootout I think Dublin have to go and hope that their quantity of top forwards will score enough despite their defenders leaking scores at the other end . They are in rude health up front but running on empty in a serious way at the back . Hence a shootout is my prediction and a high scoring game

We can do this but need a massive performance and improvement from Clifford and O'Brien. I trust they can do this. Then another massive performance by the defence and somehow lessen the influence of McCaffrey. Simple as that and Sam is ours. I trust this management team.

What Jim actually said was "Put the small lad at wing-back". Somehow the St. Vincent's scribe on duty forgot that John Small or Paddy Small are on the panel, so he puts Connolly down...and one dare not question Jim or ask for clarification.

Are tickets scarce? I might have one I don’t need It would have a good home with me if you haven't found a home for it. I’m looking for one adult & 2 kids if available, PM me if available, thanks,

If that's the case why on earth would it be publicised in the media. That info came from Dublin County board...and they should know

Speaking of "Dermo", is it just me or are there others out there who do not go along with this view that he is some sort of maverick genius, player of his generation etc etc. Don't get me wrong he is a cracking player on his day but that day may be gone. Even in his prime was he consistent enough to be compared to the likes of the Gooch for example? He's often been shut down by Lee Keegan in big games over the last number of years yet there is still the clamour from some Dubs that he should be on the starting 15 the next day.

I think when his workrate married his ability he was a top player. But I always felt he was appraised more on what he could do vs what he did do. Having said that he did hurt Kerry earlier this decade, in e.g. 2013. He is also a tremendously stylish player. He was on his way to Boston a few weeks back. That is inescapable. Words to eat later: I hope he starts for Dublin.

Fantastic player on his day but to hear some people talk he is one of the best ever. He hasn't even been the best half forward on that team I'd have/would take Alan brogan, flynn,Kilkenny, and Howard above him tbh.

The €10 tickets seemed to have been put out as a bit of a red herring to pacify those complaining about ticket prices for a replay. By the sound of things there weren't many of them out there at all.

You'd have such an aura built up in your head about him that by the time he gets the first ball it wouldn't matter what he'd do with it but you'd think it was fantastic! If he fell on his arse you'd think he did it well. Connelly is a presence but his best footballing days are behind him.

Every club in Kerry was entitled to get 10 tickets @ €10 - think some clubs passed up their entitlement on this due to the quality of the tickets on offer.

He is the classic flawed genius according to some, yes he was a fine player in his day but I think that his day is now behind him. He was out of the set up for so long and then drops back in as the class clown/prodigal son. In my opinion he is being used as a distraction now, his impact on the drawn match was minimal - he was posturing on the side line for over 20 minutes. The fourth official was over and back to them to get him to put a vest on and asking if he was indeed going on as there were other lads in and out warming up all through that time. I was surprised that Jim Gavin entertained that carry on as it's most unlike him.

He had a good game also in the 2016 semi even though he hit a few wayward shots in the second half. I just don't think he ever produced such performances consistently enough to be ranked ahead of the likes of Flynn and Brogan to name but two. Hopefully these words don't come back to haunt us!

As I said previously- I fully expect them to throw a wildcard into their half back line and that’ll probably be Howard.
McCarthy will be in midfield and if Tommy comes on then I expect Howard to be the man to go back on him

Assuming that Tommy doesn’t start, if it was my call, I would re-arrange our full-forward line. I think we would get a greater return from David from full forward with Killian at 13 and Paul at 15. All three are stronger on their left legs but they are also adept on the right. Killian, in particular, has a very deceptive ‘pull back’ to make space for a shot. Paul has more experience top of the left and it wouldn't inconvenience him in the least. Having said all that, this time ‘round, I would actually start Tommy. The stats from these major games show that the actual time that the ball is in play is approx. 23/24 minutes each half. At this stage of the championship, I would expect that the level of fitness required to compete for that short period would be well in the legs of Tommy - he is injury-free for several months now and has built up a decent bank of fitness. Tommy at full-forward keeps McCarthy busy defending the full-back berth and Killian coming on worked ok last time out. I get your point but PG is predominantly right footed

Cooper,Howard or Murchan? They are all fine players but six is the pivotal position on the pitch Cooper and Murchans aren't the biggest how would they cope with Barry,Moran,Sherwood and o Shea rampaging through the middle? And Howard is a wing forward or maybe a wing back does he have the positional sense for 6? Massive questions for gavin if small is out especially as Mcauley looks finished

I don’t rate small that highly anyway.
Connolly has played that position for St.Vincents sometimes.
I would have thought Eoin Murchan would start.
Kerry will probably start the same team. Q
