With Donegal penciled in so far what changes do we need for the super 8s etc?
Maybe we keep all Kerry Super 8 stuff here and change the title as the games come around

You would imagine who we are playing and tv will dictate the day and time. Also would it have to be a 5pm as no lights in killarney If it's the Saturday?

Anything to be said for actually just playing 5 forwards with a permanent sweeper in front of the D? Let the half backs push up a bit when in possession? Doesn't have to be a great defender just someone that can mind the house and sheppard players away from that lane.
I know people will laugh but, ideally Tommy Walsh with a bit more speed. Colm Cavanagh role as it were. Do we have anyone at all that can do this? Mark Griffin can't he isn't any good under a high ball and his distrbution is woeful.

Saturday evening 5pm would suit me just fine in Killarney but I know it’s an awkward time for a lot of people.
In terms of changes needed its about the defence and closing down some of the space in front of the full back line I have been surprised at the criticism aimed at Morley and Foley after yesterday, what defender wouldn't be under pressure the way we set up. We need to be tighter and ensure that if defenders are going forward somebody is there to mind the house in case of turnovers.
There are also several individuals who need to either improve or be dropped. I won’t mention names as I hate criticising amateur players but we all know who they are.

Sherwood was basically playing a sweeper role yesterday as his man dropped back into the cork defence. He was an extra defender outside the D covering in front of Morley and Foley. The problem was that the cork runners were breaking through our outside defence and Sherwood had to come out to meet the runner. I think our problem is further out the field with our middle 8 not working hard enough to track runners.

Were we just fitter than most in the league and that actually make our players look Like they were working harder than they were?

Were we just fitter than most in the league and that actually make our players look Like they were working harder than they were? It's possible and it did occur to me at the time. Roscommon were like that a few years back, getting their prep work in ahead of the pack and winning their first 4 league games including against us in Killarney (mind you that was probably the worst Kerry display of all time). Once other teams caught up, they were quickly brought back down to earth and Kerry hammered them in the league semi-final.

Probably a factor alright, I think in the main Kerry played a bit deeper as well, particularly in the earlier games. Getting a better balance between defence and attack is the challenge.

Where will kildare Tyrone be? Newbridge If mayo win, can they not play Galway in rnd 4? They haven’t met yet so I would think they can. That has implications for our group. Conceivably we could have Mayo and Tyrone in that group as well as Donegal so we would be very well tested. If we managed to get out of it.

Mayo should account for Armagh in Castlebar. I see Clarke was back in goals v Down.
Mayo can draw any of Cavan, Meath, Galway and Cork.
If they meet and beat Galway then they are Killarney bound for Kerrys home game. Isnt that it?

Yes I forgot that mayo haven’t played Galway yet so they can meet in rnd 4.. assuming that happened, mayo and Galway would be played at a neutral venue like all rnd 4 games so assume it wud be played in Roscommon?? Kildare could easily take down Tyrone in Newbridge.. Tyrone are not all that great

Mayo vs Armagh mayo but not comfortably Kildare vs tyrone Tyrone after a battle Westmeath vs clare clare Offally vs laois laois
The r4 will be interesting if and it's a big if cork can reproduce what they did Saturday they have a great chance. Hard to see Meath beating anyone after yesterday Cavan would need to draw laois or clare realistically to advance. Galway and mayo/Tyrone would be 50/50

I give Armagh a shot against Mayo and would give Kildare a chance at home to Tyrone, but both the favorites will probably progress.
Think Clare will take Westmeath and Laois should account for Offaly.
Meath can't face Laois again in round 4 I think.
So there is 66% chance they will face off against Mayo / Tyrone all going to plan in the earlier round. So there is a good chance we could have to go to Omagh or Catlebar in search of something on the last day. Provided we get something from our home game. Based on Saturday unless there is a massive change I dont expect us to get anything against Donegal in Croke Park.

First game will be crucial hopefully there will be a huge kerry crowd in killarney shouting on our young lads

Is there a time deadline by which the GAA have to notify the Gardaí and civic authorities that an event is taking place? They can hardly wait until the 8th of July to decide whether it's the Sat or Sunday and then give only a few days notice...

Can someone tell me what is it their doing at the scoreboard end of the ground at Fitzgerald Stadium, they've knocked the concrete seats and they are doing something perhaps a new terrace there. Also is it expected to be finished for July 13th?

Usually the guards would have a big say as well anything on in killarney the weekend of 13/14 ?
That could bring extra traffic? You would think they could do it after the r4 draw as we will have a fair idea who we will be playing at that stage?
