Tarbert Comp just won Munster beating Bantry in Banteer by 1-13 to 2-11.
Being honest they were lucky, extra time would have been fair, they never really got going but just about did enough...
Fair achievement and massive boost for NK Fooball... All Ireland semi now awaits

Cork for the tailteann Cup lads. I backed them today, More fool me. Very real possibility at the end of this year's league that Munster will have 1 division 1 team, 2 division 3 teams and 3 division 4 teams! Football in Munster outside of Kerry is going backwards, and Munster Gaa don't seem to be doing anything to address this.

The fast it took Clare, Tipp and Waterford so long to find managers shows the way things are at the moment with football in Munster.

Farcical mark at the end of the Tyrone-Galway game today. An unmarked Con Kilpatrick, barely inside the 45, took a lateral pass from Niall Morgan who was barely outside the line. For which Con got a free shot in front of the goals at a crucial stage. Clever, yes, and I know it's not the first but this is making a mockery of the game. Only a matter of time before an AI Final is decided in this way.

RIP Michael O Regan.
A proud Kerry man and Kerry Football supporter.
President of the Kerry association in Dublin.
A very decent man.
A great man to come out of Kerry.

Very sad news indeed. I never met Michael but felt that I knew him. He was a veritable encyclopedia on matters political in Kerry & nationally, and had a great recall of dates and people. Condolences to his family and friends.

Oh hold on, I did read that wrong its €750 a unit not €750 a year for five years! Ok €150 a year so which is a bit more manageable still with the GAA season ticket you at least get a Hogan or Cusack stand don't you?

Am I reading this right? - you don't actually get any tickets for your €750, just the "right to purchase" them. And even then, this is "subject to availability and stadium capacity" - sure wouldn't that be the case anyway? So in fact it's not really conferring any entitlement or benefit at all?
Can't say I'm loving this.

Looking at Dublin's Howard in the Derry game, jez the pecs on him, he's got huge, put on serious body mass muscle wise.

Maybe just maybe, folks might yet see last weeks result again Dublin in a slightly different light following the Derry versus Dublin result this evening. Markers put down against two main All Ireland rivals just a week apart by the Dubs. Now, before the lets not give Dublin any credit excuse brigade jumps out - both sides were 'missing' or 'resting' plenty of players but the Dublin template remains the same. If Kerry breached these Derry walls away from home we'd be quite rightly singing their praises. Dublin took a mass Derry defence apart calmly, and methodically, and so patiently, and playing in about third gear they scored 1-15 (correct me if I'm wrong) of their 1-16 from play! Now Kerry did not do themselves justice last week for sure but the evidence is growing that Dublin have moved onto to a different level in 2024. You'd be a brave to bet against Dublin now winning this league out right, and they're going to take some stopping from retaining the big prize if they'll be stopped at all?

I think if anything was shown over the past 2 weeks is that the narrative that the great Dublin team were a once in a generation team is nonsense.
Look what Dublin are doing without Cluxton, Fitzsimons, McCarthy, McCaffery, Mannion.
They played some lovely stuff this evening and it looks ominous for the rest if at this early stage.

The dubs are like a machine It's like they have a system in place everyone knows their role by now they must play a lot of games behind the walls they remind me of the Chicago Bulls when they won all those championships years ago. They have Fenton like Jordan and Kilkenny like Pippen and the rest just know what they have to do. they hassle you and tackle and get the ball back so quickly and its over the bar before you know it. I watch Niall Skully and he is the most underrated player I know he glides around the field unnoticed plays sweeper most of the time and before you know he is on the end of a move on the other side and can score too. A great link player I always wondered why he was on the team even when they had all those players he always started. Maybe thats what they want Moynihan to be dont know hopefully Adrian can be the workhorse we need.

I thought this evening's game was a basic league game. Sean Cavanagh said that Mickey Hart was trying a lot of reserves and that it didn't work for them. Nothing to be scared of.
Dublin are showing what they are working on. They are back to crowding their own square when defending, recycling corner back to wing, across the half forward line. Their most reliable players are the old ones Kilkenny, Costello.

One thing that you have to respect about Dublin is they back themselves.
Who would have imagined Murchan picking up Clifford and tonight McGuigan.
At one stage last Sat Murchan and Clancy were 1:1 with Seanie and David and nobody else in their half.
They back themselves.
I felt Dublin in 2020-2023 looked in decline even last year they looked ok but not brilliant.
They look a different prospect now.
Kerry may regret leaving that 2022 all ireland behind us more now.
