After about 20 minutes of last years league game in Croker you could see the Dubs signalling to each other as Cluxton was getting ready to take a kick out. What followed was a few minutes of in your face man handling and bullying of Kerry players that was cringeing to watch. When the dust settled Dublin played Kerry off the pitch. In 2019 Kerry look to have gotten softer due to the departure of Maher and KD and not having Shanahan on the panel.

In 2019 Kerry look to have gotten softer due to the departure of Maher and KD and not having Shanahan on the panel. Was that the game where Sean o Shea was targeted and ending up in hospital where he didnt reappear for a few months. Kerry getting softer is not good . But The Dubs are much stronger physically and have all the agression to go with it . We need to win a different way . We need to stretch their defence a bit like the Monaghan model in the second half plenty moving targets No point taking the ball into contact. If we could use the Monaghan Second half model and definitely not use the timid Galway model where they never went for the game only hung around waiting for the executioner. Ultimately we will need to go for it take the shackles off and go for it the kerry way suddenly all those maurauding half backs in blue will start to stay put and defend that way we win the mind game too. But we will need a few timely goals to spook them.

I think they were very briefly on sale. they probably were and were all snapped up by Dubs. anybody know the capacity for the game? I said this two years ago...tickets for this one shouldn't have been allowed for sale online. Dublin already had 4,000 or so season ticket spots reserved. The rest should have been on sale in Kerry only, until demand was satisfied anyway. As it is, we'll probably be outnumbered in a home fixture while Kerry fans are left outside - that's just not right.

Any returns then to go on general sale. There was 10,000 Kerry fans in Killarney for the opening game. There will be probably 4,000 less there on Saturday night.

I have a hunch that if Shane Ryan had a say in picking the team he would have Gary OBrien as a target for his restarts.

I think clubs learnt from 2017 & purchased tickets online as soon as they were available this year.

I believe all league games should be played in Tralee. Super 8 home game and munster finals in Killarney but the ground is too big otherwise. I would take a full Austin Stack park underlights every time over an 3/4 empty Fitzgerald stadium. Compare the atmosphere in Tralee for a county final to that of Killarney. Simply no comparison! On another note you cannot expect the GAA to go cap in hand to the Business people of Tralee looking for money to finance the upgrade of Austin Stack Park and then take all the big games to Killarney.

Kerry tried long ball multiple times yesterday and it didnt work. Wet ball of course played its part but i dont think its the answer to the dubs. We played 15 in our half 3 or 4 times yesterday, youd imagine that will be increased next weekend. It didn't work on sunday

It seems that a lot of rain is going to fall in the South West on Friday. Saturday will be drier but very cold.
The game will be a good test of the pitch and drainage system in ASP.

Would be a big ask to expect Sean O'Shea and Brian Begley to play a third game in seven days.

What team would people like to see? I think moynihan in for k.spillane and g. Obrien for lyne? It depends on the game plan plus any injuries; Killian Spillane did not play for UCC last night and based on that assume he is ruled out on Sat. I expect to see us being a small bit more adventurous than we were last week given that we are on home turf plus also Dublin have no problem in dealing with blanket defenses a la Galway /Tyrone. For that reason would expect defence unchanged with David Moran in for Adrian Spillane plus Dara Moynihan in for Killian; Lyne will probably get the nod to start and drop deep with the likes of Tommy Walsh, Gavin O’Brien being called upon in the second half to pose different questions. Dublin is a huge ask so early in the campaign but I am expecting us to be very competitive and would not be surprised if we turned them over.

Leaving tickets, capacity, weather and location aside what are the thoughts on the game eg tactics 1. our kickout strategy 2 Dealing with Dublin kickout 3 Choice of keeper 4 Our defense
Hoping we stand up and play as we can and that we get fair decisions from ref. My advice would be not to complicate our play ie straight & direct All the best to our fine young team

My advice would be not to complicate our play ie straight & direct All the best to our fine young team You can’t beat Dubs by being overly defensive all the time that’s just drawing trouble on yourself. There are part s of the game where we need to put them on the back foot and attack we know they are no champs in the air and one on one is what you want see how Monaghan beat them We can’t afford to be ponderous like Galway who only played in a containment mode and Dublin were there for the taking. But Galway never went for it at any stage I’d be hoping that we have a serious offensive plan too and change it up a few different way s The first 20 minutes is when Dublin seem to be careful and are most vunerable then. I think we need to come out all guns blazing they have not seen that look in a long while . I don’t think they would know how to handle it
