And there the whole month of September stretches before us. Ladies Final and camogie final to come over the next few Sundays. And of course the concluding stages of many county and provincial championships. And a few committeee meetings to select managers. As they say in the media, what's not to like?

Was it ever more critical to get the right "COLLECTION" of people in charge of the senior team now with Dublin's run away success and the amount of young Kerry players coming through? This is a huge call for the County Board.

Peter Keane went out of his way yesterday to mention the great team behind him that he assembled.
He doesnt seem egotictical which is a good sign of a leader.

Something ive noticed with him is he seems to have a sense of humour, his teams look like they Enjoy playing football and hence have great team sprit which was very evident over the course of the year.

Seems to be some noise around the place that James Horan will take over Mayo again imminently.

The Mayo ladies situation is a real clusterf*ck. Whatever the truth is, its not exactly reflecting well on the Ladies that pulled out and Cora Staunton in particular

Who from Kerry has turned up to this underdog thing? Well there was Darragh O'Shea (the goalkeeper, not the 6 time all Ireland Winning midfielder), DJ Murphy from Gneevguila appeared during the trials also. I wonder were there more?

I see Horan is pushing for a B championship to conclude on the same day in Croker. That would decimate ticket supplies for the final!

Have the b championship the same day as the semi finals, at least then it might get a bit of coverage

Terrible idea the b championship, div 3 and 4 teams arent the big issue in football at the moment. Might aswell scrap the weaker counties altogether. The mass exodus after the league from these counties would be frightening. Who is going to sponser this and the teams involved? How are teams supposed to get better if they cant afford s andc etc. Absolute joke imo where will be the cutoff div 1 and 2 ? Still be loads of hammerings also with the exception of ulster and maybe munster there wouldnt be any provincals.
If it was next year 6 ulster teams, 4 munster, 3 connacht and 3 leinster. Ok you could scrap the provincals (they wont vote for that) and make 4 groups of four but there will still be massive hammerings. It solves nothing imo and its easy to tell what county this man is from!

Unless they stick to the 2500 tickets for the B final this idea cant work where both finals are played on the same day.

I didn't read this particular article but most of them are similar, and many on here will testify the was my pet honours subject long before others even knew it was on the curriculum. In summary, we are hearing a lot of argument, these days fueled by a great Dublin team begrdudged by the rest of us, hence the risk of good cases making bad law. Money isn't everything but nothing happens without it and the Dubs have had the lions share of it for a long time with the real losers being the Leitrims, the Carlows, etc. The irony of it is that it is better for the top teams if the weaker ones thrive, if only because it helps eliminate complacency. The most ironic aspect of all is that money ultimately is a cancer of sportsmanship, and while we are a distance from that stage, once it gets a grip it becomes impossible to eradicate. I have read up a lot on this, some did look up an article in The Economist of old that I directed them to. The bottom line is that the wherewithal of the GAA is determined by economics, e.g. like the housing crisis within the Pale, etc. While Kerry has a sound sponsor we are hit by rural depopulation (no worse than many others), but the Ozzie creaming hits us more as we have, well more cream! Anyway let's leave it there for now, suffice as to say there will be a bit of talk up ahead. BTW In case I didn't offer my congrats, well .. congrats and well done Rashers.

A good piece from Wolly and well on the money too. Interesting comment re attacking Dublin and breaking the 20 point barrier. As he said, what is there to lose...........teams are losing by 10 points anyway trying to contain them.
