The Silver Key, 10 mins from PUC - Leaping Salmon always good spots - The Idle Hour on the way into town on the quays. You can get good food too in the Silver Key.

I read elsewhere that Cork played Roscommon in a challenge recently. Didn't go too well for them - well beaten.

I don't think you can read too much into challenges at the best of times but especially during the championship as they tend to be far closer to a glorified training session as opposed to an actual championship game.

I see the the u17 game is down to start 2.5 hours before the senior final. This time span will be a big test of the pulling power of u17 fooball in terms of spectators turning up............. So the Minor Final will be over around 5:50pm. I hope they've some entertainment lined up to kill the time! Can't help but feel the reason behind this is get people to spend more money in Frank's new stadium. Minor game should have been set for 5pm. I wonder will any journo ask any questions with regard to the time of the matches?

Yes Taibhse. Cork played Roscommon and were very poor. Roscommon were moving very well. I expect Ros to give Galway a good game.

Many supporters will probably stay away and catch the Tip/Mayo game on the box in the pubs and give the minors a miss. Sitting around admiring the new concrete for an hour makes no sense.

Any thoughts on point kicking technique??? Do we have to send the ball to the clouds? Do we have to screw/ spin the ball? While these techniques have their merits at times they are being overused. These while looking classy are unnecessary. Watching Dublin yesterday most points were taken by kicking directly and with a low trajectory. Some nice points from edge of large square. Any thoughts?? I have been saying the same thing though not on this forum. Years ago players were encouraged to keep it low and put it 3 or 4 feet over the bar. The yhinking was that cross winds in a stadium like Croke Park could effect the ball. Some kicks now go 20 feet over the top of the post.Old school kicking off the outside of the boot is very fashionable now And super high altitude kicks along with spinning off the inside all these kicking techniques have their place but imo are over used entirely Did you ever observe ladies football they generally have a more basic kick off their laces with the toe pointing at the target I’m convinced ladies score points at a much higher percentage of shots taken I’d like to see the stats on this , the front of the foot off the laces with a top spin or a back spin for higher trajectory is a more efficient kick with better return from shots taken If you don’t believe watch how the ladies do it Any one else observe this ?

Hardly a barometer of where cork are at a game against kerry in the new pairc with the yahoos on the blackrock end shouting for blood will produce a different performance

I am planning to go seeing as the new PUC will unveil the first Kerry v Cork game and have accommodation booked but this scheduling is pIssing me off ....

Can't help thinking back to league game v Dubs 11th March.2-17 to 0-11. They horsed our young players out of it, and completely dominated the second half. Five changes for game v Clare Morley, White, Moran, O'Brien, and Jameso for Enright, O Beaglaoich, Barry O'Sullivan, Spillane, and McCarthy. I know Championship and League football are completely different, but we still have a lot of ground to make up. Then again maybe EF didn't show his hand in March.

The minor game is probably on at 4:30 in case there is a draw and extra time. Can't have a 7pm game delayed because of extra time in the curtain raiser.

I checked the location of the seats before I clicked...otherwise the friend would have been getting their own ticket
