Won't be long coming around now in 3 weeks. It will be very hard to break in to a side who played so well against Clare, but I'm sure training will be as competitive as ever. Cork impressed against Tipperary and should give us a better idea of where we're at.

No two games follow same pattern. Monaghan outstanding against Tyrone, crap yesterday. Yesterday went well for us, but we would not want to get carried away. Remember the League, euphoric after wins over Donegal and Mayo, then we lost our way.

Is it true that losers of Munster final would in all likelyhood get the Dubs at home? Yes, as far as I can see Munster runners up at home to Leinster winners w/e 21st/22nd July

Tyrone, Mayo and Monaghan are I assume all potential quarter final opponents. A championship game in Clones would be intriguing.

as a matter of interest, will there be extra time in the senior if it's a draw on 23rd ? Won't be able to make the 23rd owing to work. Saturday in Cork doesn't suit everyone but such is life.

Tyrone, Mayo and Monaghan are I assume all potential quarter final opponents. A championship game in Clones would be intriguing. But there are no quarter finals this year - instead the "quarter finalists" take part in this new contortion called the super 8's. The 4 losing provincial finalists play the remaining 4 from the qualifiers in R4 of the qualifiers. The winners of R4 join the four provincial winners in the S8's. This year the rotation will see Group 1 - Winners of Munster and Ulster plus losers (or the qualifier that beats them) of Leinster and Connaught. Group 2 - Winners of Leinster and Connaught plus the losers (or the qualifier that beats them) of Munster and Ulster. The S8's will see each team play 3 games - one home, one away and one at a neutral venue (Croke Park). The clash of the provincial champions is the one scheduled for the neutra venue. I would argue that this neutral venue should mean the Leinster winners play in Semple or Pairc Ui Chaoimh if Dublin (as expected) win Leinster.

Does anyone know if Killian Young is still injured or did he just not make the cut the last day?

Does anyone know if Killian Young is still injured or did he just not make the cut the last day? Injury free now with a clean bill of health and good to go. Just needs match practice. The first round was too soon for him match fitness wise.

Fitzmaurice expects to select from a fully fit panel for this game so there will be some competition for places at training. Young, Casey, Savage, Enright will all be putting their hands up for inclusion. Am I missing any other obvious candidates? What's Barry O'Sullivans story?
Exciting times ahead for sure!

why is this game on a saturday? will impact the crowd i reckon. I was told by someone on here that it is because there are 3 Provincial Football Finals on that weekend, so presumably the other 2 are on Sunday and Munster was felt to be the one that could most easily be moved to the Saturday afternoon. This is all part of new timetable to fit with the super 8 one presumes...

There was 34000 in the Pairc on Saturday night for a round robin hurling match.
Will there be 25000 there for the Munster Football final?

I would say there will be a lot more than 25k for several reasons. New exciting kerry team, first time back in the new pairc. Cork went well against tipp and the walk up crowd for a sat nite game especially if the weather was as good as saturday. I think kerry alone will bring 14/15 k

I am shocked, absolutely shocked that there was traffic chaos. No way anyone could possibly have foreseen this given PuC's location and history. I think my favourite part was of the article was the lad blaming the fact that there was a crowd of almost 35,000 at a 45,000 capacity stadium. That or the fact that there was zero mention of the Cork County Board or the stadium management in the piece.

Hope I am wrong but it may not pass 30k

Shuttle bus from Lapps Quay and back again. A lot of people parked in the city and bussed out. Such a pity if CCB are falling back into old habits regarding traffic management around the stadium. As a Cork fella said to me, a lot of the issues with traffic management is that people from Kerry, Tipp and all over Cork expect to drive up and park within 5 mins walk of the stadium. Most of us don't do this in Dublin and are happy to walk a fair distance to Croke Park so why should Cork be different? If you can, park in the city, spend the afternoon shopping/drinking/seeing the sights and then make your way to PUC at your leisure. A Saturday night Munster final is a novelty.

Who really can come into the panel that wasnt there the last day? Barry O Sullivan. Killian Young. Shane Enright. Jack Savage. then youve got a few more of the younger lads. The starting 15 looks really really good but id be worried about the same 5 or 6 lads on the bench who've got alot of chances over the last few years but always seem flatter to deceive when really needed.

While he's not everyones favorite but in 2010 when BJK first came on the panel he made a huge impact off the bench, same with Darren O Sullivan when he first came along. Other lads just don't seem to have pushed on Brendan O'Sullivan, Killian Spillane, Brian Crowley etc

Score three points in non event Munster matches over the years doesn't cut it! Surely Casey should be considered for the bench, positive player with better football skill than most of the bench named above along with great ball carrying. Had some good games in the league but appears not to be given a chance.

We are light of reliable scoring options off the bench alright and probably midfield aswell maher being the only real option. The emergence of white, shanahan, crowley and foley means the backs have decent cover now

From the fellas that didnt start the last day, Darran, BJK, Kevin McCarthy and Donaghy all have to ability to make and take scores from the bench. And all are different types of forwards too which is another plus.

The fact that traffic was organised properly for the Ed Sheeran concert and yet the match was a disaster zone is even more damming for the Cork county board/stadium management.
