I cant find the bit in the article where Brogan asks for the money tap from the GAA and 1m from bertie/sports council to be turned off.

09 was a good contest, just that we all knew Kerry would win and Cork never looked like taking it to the wire. It would have been nice if someone told us this: my recollection is that 90% of the county was bricking it coming up to that final. Cork had beaten Kerry by eight points earlier that summer. It's a bit like people now saying that the match on Sunday was a foregone conclusion and then during the game that it was never in doubt. Once in Croker Kerry never looked remotely like losing to Cork. They always looked in control in that final. There was that one drawn match but that was as freakish an ending to a one-sided game as your ever likely to see, though with some similarities to the Mayo comeback in the 2015 semifinal drawn game.

I think what's been lost in all the talk about Dublin is Jim Gavins role, If we can agree on Dublins resources then we can also agree on the distractions of living in the capital if you become exposed to the limelight. Keeping a group of guys living in the Capital grounded after winning an All Ireland with do many distractions once is a feat 3 times his some doing. We seen Galway and Tipperary struggle to bring hunger a second year. To introduce a 5 foot 6 defender at the expense of a 5 time all Ireland winner when it wasn't broken was some call. I feel this is an exceptional team , but Gavin has made them feel like they haven't won anything yet .

By any measure, Jim Gavin is an outstanding manager and one that will only continue to get even better. It's clear that Gavin is on his own journey of self-development and personal growth as a manager. Moreover, one place Jim Gavin will never sit is in the comfort zone. I've no doubt Gavin will over take O'Dwyer and indeed Brian Cody's All Ireland winning record as a manager. Gavin is basically a Ferguson like figure (Gavin - just as driven except far cooler) of the GAA world now and will dominate the game for many years to come. The way things are looking keeping one or two All Irelands out of Dublin's grasp in a decade will be an achievment for any other county or manager.

Rory is off doing great work in NZ, he wont be back. If he had stuck around I believe he could have gone down as in the top five greatest fullbacks ever.
