For both teams the result will make no difference in terms of this League but for Tyrone coming off the back of demolishing Mayo, it would give them considerable satisfaction to do the same job on Kerry. If that happens it wouldn't be the end of the world for us as we would put it behind us and move on to prepare for the real test of the summer. But a decent performance along the lines of the first two games would be icing on the cake if we can manage it.
The match will be a useful learning exercise and should be used for that purpose. Hopefully we will stay injury free.

So a high-scoring draw will suit both teams. 1-18 apiece.

Paul Geaney came off injured against Galway and Dublin and also came off against Kildare. I,would rest Paul next Sunday. I,would also rest young David . He has played a lot of football lately between college and county. and no doubt his parience would be well tested in Omagh! Tom O'Sullivan is a fellow I would like to get a start the next day. I hope Jason and Shane Murphy start again . Important they develop a relationship. It is a shame that Gavin Crowley has missed so many games A lot of people are clamouring for Mark Griffin at CHB the next day which is fair enough. Howeve, like Brendan O'Sullivan I am not sure about Mark anymore. I wonder why Riobaird O'Se has not got a run at midfield where we seem to be shorthamded , particulalrly with the doubt over Anthony Maher. Adrian Spillane is another man I find hard to assess. Agree totally about Geaney and Clifford getting a rest. Leave Seanie Shea at home irrespective of how his injury is. Keep Murphy in goals. I'd like to see Jason Foley mark this Brennan fella. Tom Sullivan and Mathew Flaherty to get a good run in the backs too. Get 45 minutes into David Moran's legs. Ditto Mark Griffin. Have a look at Eanna O Connor to see how he handles what the Tyrone lads will do to him. Give Killian Spillane a run up front too. We would hardly get into double figures if we rest all them! Who will score without our 3 top men upfront? Maybe its not a bad idea more onus on bjk killian spillane etc

This game can't be dressed up any other way than a dead rubber at the other end of the country. The only game in Division 1 where anything is at stake is the relegation battle between Donegal and Mayo. Definitely takes a lot of the spice away from the final day of the league. There's nothing at stake in the Dublin v Monaghan or the Kildare v Galway games either. Part of this is as a consequence of getting rid of the league semi-finals. However mostly it's down to how the results have worked out this year in the league. Even if the league semis were still in place, Dublin, Galway and Monaghan would all be certain of their semi-final places, while Kildare would be certain to be relegated. As such neither of those two games would have all that much on the line. However the Tyrone v Kerry game would be the decider to see who got the final league place. I'd be shocked if there aren't a fair few lads rested between the 6 teams. No reason to risk any player who isn't 100% fit.

Anyone staying up in Omagh on the Saturday? Haven’t been before and just wondered if anyone knows good spot to stay?

Anyone staying up in Omagh on the Saturday? Haven’t been before and just wondered if anyone knows good spot to stay? The Silver Birch Hotel is the closest to Healy Park about 10 to 15 mins walk. Don't know what it is like to stay in but I have had soup and sandwiches there a few times which were decent enough. Heard some people are staying in the Glenavon in Cookstown which is a short drive away. Nice hotel but I think there is a large nightclub on a Saturday night whichmay be a plus or minus point.

Ask the supporters Club though I remember them once overnighting in was it Ballyshannon, I think there was also a session in the club house at Healey Park a night before a game. The Silver Birch is close by and so (travelling?) supporters fall in there. Hasn't Mulligan a pub too, sure hasn't he even a drink called Mugsy, maybe that's what got him into a spot of bother in Lovely Listowel? The auld Tyrone crowd are alright and I recall them regaling of going home to someone's house after the pub in the 70s/80s to replay videos of our golden era team. I get to meet a lot of them and sometimes I am in awe of their pure raw passion and they'd be a modest enough outfit too, I'd often crack an auld joke and it mightn't go down 100%, maybe they take it a bit too serious and sure I suppose the same could be said of ourselves at times. I know Mayo-Donegal is the only game this weekend that really matters but the fires will be hot in Omagh and I sense a serious clash, maybe an opportunity to repay us for our Killarney game. Ballythefireside quote of the day - Motive and Opportunity is a lethal cocktail

In my opinion a team short of real marquee forwards Lee Brennan looks the real deal for them. Classy tidy forward. Will certainly cause us bother Sunday especially if we isolate someone 1-on-1 on him i.e. Enright/McBrearty, Shanahan/Walsh, Foley/Flynn

Think they should leave Clifford at home for this one. Tyrone and Mickey Harte could do ajob on him. Would like to see mark Griffin start and if Morley is back, get 35 mins into him

Interesting does that include club games? From what you are saying it sounds like he has been disencouraged from shooting by kerry management worrying

Lads please tell me how Anthony Maher has not played a game for Kerry this year. Our two young lads are doing ok but abit of experience is needed.
Also can anyone confirm if Brendan Kealy is back in with Kerry set up?

Savage looks to be struggling with the difference in terms of the time and space a forward gets on the ball at inter-county level compared to at club level. He struggled massively against the Monaghan defence and I would expect him to have similar issues against the Tyrone defenders. I would suggest the reason that Savage hasn't been shooting in his appearances for Kerry is that he is being closed down by the better standard of intercounty defender. The notion that he is not being "allowed" kick for the post is just crazy.

I think Jack should be playing as a corner forward and not in the half forward line. He has the forwards instinct for a score i feel.
He is being asked to do a role which involves running at a defense with the ball ...like SOB does....but I don't think that's his forte.

I would like to see a full forward line of Kevin McCarthy, Killian Spillane and BJK start the next day. Take a long term view on the point in playing Geaney and Clifford.
I have a feeling Tyrone might be more attack minded in this game than they usually are.
Looking forward to hearing a few eye witness reports as I wont be at this or will probably only hear the second half on the radio.

Are Donnacha, Darren Killian and Morley far away from making an appearance? Darran received a minor setback in training in the past week and will be out for another few weeks; Morley in training and could play some part in Omagh. Not sure on Donncha/Killian.

I think he will keep playing Clifford and Geaney.likewise Daithi and Kevin Mc. Probably give Mark Griffin and Johnny Buckley a start. Are they going for warm weather training this year? Or is that all a thing of the past with players going back to clubs?

A moot point perhaps, but how are you allowed name a suspended player in the subs and what's the point anyway?

Id like to see some shape the team in terms of attack and defence. We have been playing as a collection of individuals really. Understandable with the new players but I would have a pattern would have emerged by now

A moot point perhaps, but how are you allowed name a suspended player in the subs and what's the point anyway? The total number of the official panel for a game is 26 (Team 15 & 11 subs). Therefore, McNulty at No 27 is superfluous.
