Shane Murphy back. Adrian Spillane at 12. Kevin McCarthy at 15. Unlikely that Spillane and McCarthy will be positioned according to their numbers. Most likely scenario is that they'll be used used to aid the defence.

Between those listed in the injury bulletin at the start of the league and lads who have been named in the 4 match day squad so far I reckon the following 19 (plus the 26 named in the squad for the Dublin game) would be those in possible contention for championship places.
1 Tadhg Morley 2 Gavin Crowley 3 Darren O'Sullivan 4 Killian Young 5 Gavin White 6 Anthony Maher 7 Johnny Buckley 8 Donnchadh Walsh 9 Kieran Donaghy 10 Conor Geaney 11 James O’Donoghue 12 Stephen O’Brien 13 Brian Ó Seanacháin 14 Brendan O’Sullivan 15 Killian Spillane 16 Cormac Coffey 17 Andrew Barry 18 Greg Horan 19 Tom (Leo) O’Sullivan

That 26+19 = 45 = what is the normal number?, I assume it is whittled down as the Championship progresses.
What's the story with Gavin Crowley?

Good to see David Moran back on a team list, even as a sub. Looking forward to Sunday now that the working week is over. Safe travels to all travelling a distance.

I was hoping to see more game time for Killian Spillane in this league who looked a golden nugget of a prospect at underage and seems to have the physical attributes and undoubted skill to push onto senior level. Killian was named Munster under 21 player of the year only last December so there's still plenty of time. In truth, there's a big bunch of talent coming on stream together and the competition is fierce but how many will be patient enough to hang around and stick with it? Time will tell, no doubt about it.

Gavin broke a wrist playing in the Tralee IT Sigerson game up in Belfast. Morley has a groin problem. Probably won't see him until Kildare or Tyrone games. Thanks for the feedback ruralgaa . A broken wrist for Gavin Crowley – ouch! This means quite a long healing process usually. It’s a shame, as Gavin looked quite a good starting prospect for Kerry this year. I wish him a speedy recovery.

Where is Stephen O'Brien ? There is a strange reluctance to give Daithi Casey a start?

McCarthy has fierce talent if only he knew it.

The auld reliables pitched against the recruits is some prospect - training sessions would be as good as any game.

According to a piece in the Times today, Kerry have used 10 League debutants so far in the 2018 league. Galway, surprisingly to me, have 8. Monaghan 6. Mayo 3. Kildare 3. Tyrone 2. Dublin 2.
We might not stop the 5 in a row but hopefully its only a matter of time before these lads start their own legacy.

Really looking forward to the game. Delighted to see Kevin Mac and Adrian back. They showed great promise when they played for Kerry before. Moran back on the bench means we have a back up once Barry and Jack inevitably tire versus Dublin. Before the league started every Kerryman I spoke to would be happy if we tried a few youngsters, unearthed a few championship players, and stayed in division 1. A win today and we might even make the league final. A loss today and all we need is a win versus Kildare at home or Tyrone away. Not doing too badly thus. After two great opening games expectations went through the roof and the following two games we looked overtrained and sluggish, focusing on certain "tactics". Versus Monaghan and Galway we could have done better and you can see the talent is there to play a much more open and fast style of football. Versus Donegal and Mayo the footpass was constant and executed to perfection, versus Galway and Monaghan it was lateral handpassing only. Like every year I'm hoping Eamon is looking towards the business end of the season, devising a master plan, but in previous years this master plan hasn't been imminent. I wonder what the reason is for not letting the youths play as they can and play with a blinding tempo and hunger. Is he preparing them for the championship? I hope we do okay tomorrow, not expecting a win. If we do win we are punching above our weight. Most of all I hope the young guns get plenty of time versus Dublin and Kildare. Also really, really, really hope we are sticking with youth in the championship. It doesn't matter what we do in Munster at all to me, not a single thing. These young bucks should beat Clare or Limerick on current form and even Cork if Cork don't improve their form. We might be playing Tipperary in the Munster final though, which would be a lot tougher in my opinion. Even if we lose the Munster semi final or final we still have another chance in the qualifiers. Stick with youth Eamon, please, for the future of Kerry football.

Good selection but I would like to see a few more experienced fellas on the bench. At least Moran is there. Dublin like to swap scores for 50 minutes and then increase the intensity pull away. Kerry must start with pace and make them play from the start. Also most of their scores start with a player taking a pass on the loop. Not easy to counteract but it must be done to beat them. So Kerry minors that won an AI in 2014 can win a senior in 2020??

Four years later were still rotating the keepers. Cutting edge stuff. Looking forward to the trip to Croker, best of luck to all the new players from 1-15 in the team. Get the bit between the teeth and anything is possible tomorrow. Keeping a clean sheet will be paramount to getting something out of the game and not isolating the Kerry keeper on the restart. Protecting the third quarter after half time will be a challenge as the Dubs will look to wrap the game at this point and contain thereafter.

Must say I find the selections of Spillane & McCarthy strange to say the least; Spillane has not featured all year despite being available and being match fit from Sigerson duties - wonder why he was not considered for the Monaghan game given the fact that Barry & O'Sullivan were not available and we needed mid fielders? Instead we went with Brendan O'Sullivan and Peter Crowley, then introducing Eanna early in the match. McCarthy has been absent since last year's Munster final and would not have played much football since - has not been named on the panel until now and makes the starting XV. The omission of Killian Spillane ( if not injured) is disappointing - would have thought he was ahead of McCarthy for a corner forward position given that he was introduced against Donegal and has been on the panel since. Anyway, here's hoping that we can step up from the Galway game, minimise the errors and cut out the needless fouling.

Its the relentless running power of Dublins middle 8 that kills teams and thats what teams need to counter.
To that end, playing one paced midfielders, wing fwds and/or wing backs is not an option as they target slow coaches and kill you with pop passes to willing runners.
Will be an interesting watch tmw and an opportunity to see how our young guns fare against some of the games biggest names...
