Will be interesting to see how Galway shape up. They showed what they were made of v Mayo so I think they will have no great fear of Kerry. When did we last play them in the League? Was it the final game of 2009 League or more recently? We played them in Salthill in 2010. Can't remember playing them since. League game in 2010 was the last time. 2017 Quarter final was the last time we played them in the championship.

Anyone expecting a traditional open attacking shoot em up between Kerry vs Galway hasn't been paying attention and will be disappointed. In an early league interview Kevin Walsh described his team as the babies of Division 1, just hoping to survive – pull the other one Kevin! Galway are clearly working on developing a hard defensive edge as witnessed in all their recent league matches and the reason Paddy Tally of Tyrone was brought into their coaching setup. They've got plenty of pace and have bulked up a lot. This has the makings of a dour hard-fought inch-by-inch encounter and a really good start is necessary from Kerry to upset the Galway plan that management will know is coming.

I'll be down in Castlebar the weekend , but very interested in this game. Felt Kerry were going to beat Monaghan in second half last week, but just came up short. Although to be honest I thought Monaghon were very poor as the game wore on . Sean o Shea impresses me every time I see him play. A few nice match ups to look forward to. What's the feeling in Dublin this year? Confident of 4 in a row and then 5?

The real action is taking place on the bench at the moment. Lots of guys will have to work hard just to stay there. Adrian Spillane and Andrew Barry not on the bench.

The goal keeping situation is farcical! Why? Because Murphy deserves a long run of games. I don't mean to be harsh on the lad but we can't have a repeat of last year's semi performance. Stick with Murphy he's new to this level.

Murphy has got a chance and will get more opportunity. I don't see why he should start every game. I think it important that both keepers get at least a couple of games in the league so if one got injured or black carded in a key championship game the other guy wouldn't be playing his first game all year.

The league is tough for keepers. Lots of new players, bad weather etc makes it hard to get the kickouts right. Kick out strategy would not be the main focus at this time of year anyway.

Ah I hope you're right Ciarrai. Shane Murphy would be good if he can cut it at intercounty level. Great to see Clifford getting another opportunity

With all due respect why? I don't see other top teams rotating keepers.

He distribution is excellent and he will improve with time that's why resting him is a mistake.

That selection is nonsensical unless they have given up on Shane Murphy. Nothing would surprise me at this stage re the current keeping situation in Kerry. We never see Dublin rotate Cluxton. And for good reason.

I guess we are talking about Dublin here as hennelly and Clarke have alternated loads. The reasons are obvious.
Cluxton has missed one game in 15 years in championship so we really don't know whether they would regret not giving another keeper a chance do we. Personally I think Dublin should give comerford a run out.

So was a kickout going out directly for a fifty, gas altogether in fairness.

What are we going to learn that we don't already know? I rarely criticise management but this is a very poor call.

Same no 8 to 15 as was picked for Donegal game. They should be getting more familiar with each other. Is it time for EF to pick Shane Ryan in goal and withdraw demands that he play in goals with his club.

Kelly has not been inspiring for past 3 years, maybe it is a confidence thing. We thought Murphy would be answer based on Crokes performances, but he looks under pressure. Many inter county goalkeepers play out field with their clubs so why can't Ryan.

Why shouldn't Kelly get a game at some stage; you'd imagine everyone else on the panel will and it's the league anyway.
I can't understand why Dublin's reserve keepers stick around, training away and never getting game time. The backroom must be plying them with women or something.

Ryan was on the panel last year so Eamonn knows plenty about him. It is hard to believe that Eamonn really cares too much about Ryan playing in goals a few times a year with rathmore.
