Crokes played Rathmore in the first game of the year in the East Kerry league.
They beat an understrength Rathmore easily in the end 5-18 to 1-2.
Crokes had a very young side out. Great talent there this year.
1 Johnny O'Leary
2 John Payne 3 Mike Moloney 4 David Naughton
5 Mike Potts 6 Jason Lyne 7 Jack Griffin
8 Billy Courtney 9 Kieran Ward
10 Paul Clarke 11 Gavin O'Shea 12 Brian Looney
13 Tony Brosnan 14 Mark O'Shea 15 Mike Casey
Subs: James Kelly Lorcan McMonagle Bryan O'Shea Sean Coppinger Neil Doherty.
Crokes play Gneeveguilla next Sunday in Gneeveguilla @2:00
Legion play Kilcummin on sunday also @2:00 in Dirreen

It always surprises me the lack of engagement on this forum re east Kerry football as it is the strongest area in the county for football at the moment. That's a very poor performance by Rathmore even allowing for being under strength, have they got a management team in place? Crokes have a lot of talent at the moment and division 3 football will be key to a lot of those guys development. Very difficult to see who would drop out of crokes first 15 to allow some younger guys to earn places.
Have legion got any manager yet?
The split in super league draw is very uneven with Firies, fossa, currow, glenflesk and listry all draw together with winner going to final v other side of the draw with crokes, legion, kilcummin, Rathmore

Good post Chappy
I know it's sad. If you put East Kerry together they would win about 10 County Championships in a row. Regarding Crokes, I think David Naughton will be pushing for a spot in the full back line. Luke Quinn has been a great player for Crokes but injuries and age is catching up with him.
Mike Potts is a Kerry Senior in waiting and I think he will get the no.5 jersey ahead of Buddy O'Leary. Potts Fionn and Gavin White would be a strong half back line.
Billy Courtney i think will see time at midfield along with Paul Clarke. They will rotate with Ambrose Alan O'Sullivan Buckley and Daithi.
Jack Griffin will see time in the half forward line along with Burns Gavin Looney Shane Doolan Tony Brosnan Gooch Kiely Kieran O'Leary young Mark O'Shea Shaw. A good enough squad to win it again i think.

Crokes favourites to win county championship again alright. Pat's decision to stay on says everything about their intentions, he would not return for anything less than full commitment to March 2019. Long way to go I know!
The development of the east Kerry divisional side will be interesting this year with kilcummin back in. The young guys need experience at this level but with the talent from underage county teams should reap some rewards in the next few years. They prob need a few guys to establish themselves at Kerry senior level but already Clifford is n that road.

No thread on East Kerry could go without a noting the recent death of John Kelly, RIP. He gave a great many years of service to Spa, East Kerry and Kerry GAA.

John Kelly with his giant hands gave enormous service to football in the county. He gave his time and efforts also to other community organisations and always did so without need for thanks. A huge loss in the area

Can the control people adjust such posts, or maybe it is actually some sort of coded message!!! Control would have to clearly state if a post was modified for paragraphs only - otherwise changing a post could cause all sorts of legal issues.

Laune Rangers Beat Moyvane in the semi Final as Glenflesk beat Austin Stacks. These Two Sides Have Met 2 Times Already - County League Round 2 Glenflesk 2-13 Laune Rangers 1-16 And Feile A Final Laune Rangers 5-8 Glenflesk 3-4. Laune Rangers Have A Strong Outfit Including Eoghan Hassett On The 40, Ryan Diggen And Adam Owens At 8/9, Full Back Aona O Shea Has Being Excellent Throughout The Year So Far For Glenflesk. You Have e Darragh Roches Younger Brother, Dylan, Also Cian Lynch Who is always up and down the wing, and on the 40 is sean guerin. This Game Will Be A Physical Hard Tough Lively Game. It Will Come Down To Who Has The Better Kickers. My Prediction For This Game Is Laune Rangers By 5. In Division 2 Final You Have Kerins O Rahillys Vs Fossa Ballymacelligott 7PM. When These Sides Last Met In Strand Road, Fossa Won on a scoreline Of 0-4 0-9. Rahillys were missing alot of players on the night their backs were excellent on the night too. Fossa Beat Ballymacelligott in semi Final - Fossa Are a team that like to pass the ball over the top for their full forwards to run on to. Results:
U14 Div 1 Final 23 May in Fitzgerald Stadium: Glenflesk 5-9 Laune Rangers 2-16 (a two point win for Glenflesk)
U14 Div 2 Final 23 May in Ballymacelligott: Fossa 5-21 Kerins O'Rahilly's 2-15 (Fossa by 15)
So much for kerryboyo's predictions - no good as a pundit or with a mobile for doing long entries.

The most well thought out post can be completely disregarded when it is presented like this mess. Paragraphs, grammar, and punctuation are so basic and something everyone should know by the time they leave primary school.

East Kerry are County Minor champions again after yesterday. East kerry three in a row and next year must be a foregone conclusion given the number of east kerry players that will be underage again. There is now no incentive for clubs to enter this competition with a divisional side the strength of East kerry wih the pick of 8 or 9 clubs. Is it time for Eoghan Ruadh to contest the minor championship to level the playing field sim to under 14 and 16. Interestingly 11 starters yesterday were eoghan ruadh
