Hogs head have given Waterville GAA use of there golf course for one day and it is all booked out already 125 euro a man and they have already made 24 thousand from it so I’m sure this will go towards the interpreter. They are certainly going the whole hog on it!

I hear that if Milltown lose to Kilcummin they will be last place in the group even if they beat glenbeigh as it goes on head to head between themselves and Brosna. Can anyone see Milltown causing an upset in there own back yard against Kilcummin

That is factually incorrect - if Glenbeigh are beaten by Brosna away this weekend and they lose to Milltown then Glenbeigh are bottom of the group.
As it happens I do think Milltown need to beat Kilcummin this weekend as I would not fancy them to beat Glenbeigh

if Milltown bear kilcummin and glenbeigh then they will top the group and Milltown will want revenge over glenbeigh for the last few years so its hard to know what will happen

It’s looking like it’s going to be a showdown in Templenoe for who tops the group between Templenoe and Spa. I think it will be the most exciting game of this years intermediate championship. I think the winners of that game will represent Kerry.

Eanna De Buis the legendary French Waterville manager. He must be having a right laugh at this caper. Is Eanna introducing "systeme defensive" or similar this year. Morning na BhFiann to be replaced by La Marseillese.
Then again Waterville is close enough to France I guess. If they kept the red jerseys and added blue socks now it would a fair laugh.

I was at the Gneeveguilla and spa game on sunday and im wondering have they the potential to win this in a few years, they have some exceptional talent coming through, they have darren brosnan and pa warren who have won all irelands with kerry minor teams, Dj murphy who won with the juniors last year, and didnt they have an outstanding underage team a few years ago that won a county title with the likes of ciaran o connor and shane o sullivan who are both coming back from injury in a few weeks. Do ye know anything about these young players.

Do ye know anything about these young players. Gneeveguilla are very much a team in serious transition at the minute, It happens ever Rural club, but can be especially hard when when you’ve had more or less the same team for over a decade with fantastic success. I heard somewhere that they had 8 u-21’s starting against Spa which is impressive and an indication of where they’re at, also a good few injuries as well, 3-4 Cruciate ligament injuries which is terribly hard luck. They love their football back there and will come good again i’ve no doubt. It all goes in cycles, look at Gaeltacht, pretty sure they were in Div 3 and nearly in Div 4 and Junior a couple of years ago and look at them now. St. michaels Filemore is another example, had a great team for over a decade, and are now rebuilding again. All in all the it takes a serious outfit to win Intermediate in Kerry, to be honest it’s Senior standard in a lot of Counties, so one would imagine Templenoe have to be favourited considering the number of County men they have at present. Also, in the Mitchels Ardfert game, I’m just curious to know can lads actually be punished if the ref never reported it or how does it work? Can anybody actually be punished if there isn’t sufficient video footage etc... which there probably isn’t? Was it as bad as people say, or was it just a melee that gathered legs from one fella to the next?

There is certainly video footage available - I have seen footage on one of my friend's phones so footage of the unsavoury events is available should the county board need it.

This is the equivalent of a yellow card to two players scrapping off the ball and the ref can't attribute blame so take the easy option and assume equal responsibility.

Do you think there should be club bans resulting from incidents last weekend?

If players are going to have a go then let them at it & the referee & officials can sort it out after. One non playing person is clearly seen throwing punches & kicks at a player on the ground & I don’t think that person would want other parties to see what he did. It’s on social media anyway so I don’t think the parties involved can do anything about it. Disgusting & cowardly behaviour for a so called sports person.

Ok they have a few very good young players but this intermediate championship is like a senior championship in most other counties. Junior might be the best option for Gneeveguilla to re build because they havnt been doing that particulary well recently.

I think it will be Laune Rangers Dromid or Gneevguilla that will take the plunge to Junior this year.
Intermediate Champ is very high quality in Kerry in terms of calibre of teams in fairness

I saw the video and this sports person should be ashamed of himself. To be honest I’d expect nothing else from the coward I just hope the county board will monitor the game this weekend and have a strong ref and not allow 13 of them on the sideline

Super game of football this evening between John Mitchels and St Marys. Mary's prevailed by a point but that barely tells the story of the last few minutes of the game. Mary's led by a single point with two minutes to play and scored a goal to put them four up. Straight from the restart Mitchels goaled, back to a point. From the kickout Mitchels launched another attack and Conor O'Shea cleared off the goal line to deny Mitchels a goal. From the '45 which dropped short, Mitchels won the ball in the box and floated a handpass across the goal line and it went just wide. Ref blew up on the restart. Mitchels 1-14 St Mary's 2-12

Big win for St Marys. They will take some beating. Squad is strengthened with the return of Aidan Walsh. Was a big player for them in their recent past succeses

I was in mitchels last night and it truly was a brilliant game of football in the end st Marys probably might have deserved to win but mitchels really will be kicking themselves as the chances they missed in the final moments were criminal Bryan sheehan put on a masterclass of point kicking from the middle of the field and still seems to be in very good shape. In my opinion st marys will struggle in the later stages of the competition as the depth of the squad will become a problem and the goal chances they offered up will be converted by a more clinical team. The favourites still remain in the templenoe and spa killarney group and I believe the winners of that group will go on to win this year's championship

So how teams will be separated if they finish level on points in the group, taken from this weeks Kerrys Eye
1) the winner of the head the head meeting between the sides will decide 2) in the event of sides drawing in the group stages or if three teams finish level on top then its scoring difference that decides 3)If teams cannot still be separated, its scores for that will count, whoever has scored the most in their three games 4)If still locked, which would be very unlikely its goals for 5)Finally a play off if still not separated which my come into the equation in the Junior Championship where a team gives a walkover and scoring difference cannot be used.

It very much is a case of quality over quantity though with the Mary's. Their 6 forwards would challenge to make any club team in the country. And with Bryan Sheehan solely commiting to the club they are in with a great shout. The standard of this competition is very high it's great

I heard today at the Na gaeil/ finuge game that there’s a few suspensions hanging around from the Ardfert / John Mitchels game last week. I would hope that the cccc don’t back down on the probable appeals & follow through with the original ruling . Seemingly it may cause issues for one particular individual & from the footage that’s doing the rounds the suspension & anything that may come with it is 100% deserved. On a side note, I wish the 2 injured lads in todays game a speedy recovery & well done to the officials for acting quickly & appropriately.
