I don't think thats true, if you play U20 you cannot play senior in the same year? Or if you have have played senior already you can't play U20? - the rule is that if named on a senior inter county championship match day team sheet you become ineligible to play intercounry u-20 thereafter. No restriction on an u-20 moving up to senior during (cannot revert) or after the U-20 campaign.

Think rule has been modified if you're on the senior panel of 26 and don't take an active part(play) you can still play U20

How many u21s have played for Kerry in the last 5 years? You think the two players would have been pulled from the old u21 format to play NFL in 2018? Name some U21s in the last five years that were good enough to play senior at the time? I think it's absolute nonsense to suggest that these two lads are only playing senior because the U21 competition has changed to U20. I mean I can't even understand what the logic is meant to be? Even if I ended up being convinced that some cause and effect exists that currently escapes me the fact remains that the Kerry senior panel will be poorer with Clifford and O'Shea on it this year, so they should be on it this year. Barry O'Sullivan would have benefited greatly from NFL football in his development as the anchor u21 midfield player in Mark O'Connor absence. Mark was good enough to play senior before he left. Shane Ryan could have played senior and that issue might have been bedded by now. Tom Sullivan was well capable of playing NFL for example. The point I'm making is that under the old u21 system played in the spring Sean O'Shea & David Clifford would not have played NFL for Kerry in 2018 based on Kerry's policy over the past 5 years.

Think rule has been modified if you're on the senior panel of 26 and don't take an active part(play) you can still play U20 For this season 2018, any player named on a senior panel is ineligible for u20. At this year’s Congress, a motion was approved amending the rule so that a player playing a senior inter-county championship match is ineligible to participate in that year’s U20 championship.

Are you saying that if named on 26 of senior championship panel if you play or not that you cannot play for U20 That's it for this Championship. It will change next year whereby a player can be a panel member but unless he plays in a Championship game he remains eligible for u20. That's my understanding of the situation.

Page 88 of the Official Guide (1) states that A player who plays an Inter County Senior Football Championship game at any stage in a current Championship Year shall be ineligible to participate in the Inter-County Under 20 Football Championship in that year.
When the rule was first drawn up it stated that Senior panel players could not play U20 but this was changed in Feb/Mar 2018 and now states that only those who played are ineligible.

Any idea what the Kerry team will look like. Assuming Clifford and O'Shea are out what would be the likely lineup?

Brian Friel, Coalan Teehan, Kieran O Dwyer, Michael Foley and Niall Collins will be there or thereabouts too?
It looks like a really strong panel, despite the loss of O'Shea and Clifford.
Cork, Galway and Dublin will be the other strong teams?

And you leave no room for Mike Breen who is some player. A lot of good footballers will be sitting in the dugout here. My understanding is the panel will be reduced after an A v B game this weekend so everyone that has been in all along is still there right to the end.

Breen will start CB and Fiacra Clifford in the Corner and probably Pa Warren at wing back Courtney is not on the panel and Niall Donohoe is playing with the Juniors.

On the basis of the footage available and match reports one would hope that both Tyrone and Armagh will be departing this year's Championship. Disgraceful scenes. I doubt the nettle will be grasped though, even though had any of that carry on happened outside the confines of a sports pitch, the PSNI would have been busy arresting people.
