Dromid will have a chance this year considering their run in the Junior and continued training schedule for the Munster...between them and Mary's I reckon as well with some of the SK teams have slipped a little in the last year or two

Should be a cracker in Con Keating Park on Sunday with close rivals Waterville and Dromid Pearses doing battle for the honour of meeting St Marys in the final on Sunday week. I predict that Waterville win with a degree of comfort before they rattle the townies in the final

Hard to see Marys not making the 4 in a row. They dont usually hit top gear till the final

Walshs Super Valu South Kerry Championship Final St Marys 0-13 Dromid Pearses 1-09. Played in Pairc Chill Imeallach home of Skellig Rangers GAA.Compliments to all involved for field preparation, stewardship and the availability of teas and coffees before during and after a credit to you all. Nobody said capturing Jack Murphy on this occasion would be easy,I said it would be close but in fact this final was water tight. It had everything a wonderful advertisement for South Kerry football. It ebbed and flowed from the word go.Hard hits given hard hits taken St Marys reduced to 14 men no big deal business as usual just got on with the job and passages of great football.St Marys up 2 at half time then up 4 early in the second half major turnaround Dromid draw level with a penalty goal and a point from play.A few chances to go further ahead didn't materialise for the Pearses.St Marys reeled off 5 points to take a 3 point lead Dromid pushed as hard as they possibly could but couldn't bring it back on level terms again.4 in a row for St Marys superb champions and and a record breaking 11th medal for Austin Constable a man that often took me out of trouble when I needed an umpire what a Gael.Devastation for Dromid Pearses after leaving everything they had on the field and a climax to a year they can be extremely proud of.Both sides had wides, missed passes, missed tackles and the usual run of the mill mistakes that heavy conditions bring about but it was St Marys ability to nail the vital scores at exactly the right time that won this one for them.Detailed match report by Colm Kelly and Jason O Conner in papers.
