A very dangerous full forward line if they can get the ball to them.

I heard once from a clerical source that Darragh and Colm were the names which saw the greatest increase during and after the Sesond Golden Years Era.
Best of luck to them whoever they are called after. Ciarrai Abu.

Congratulations to the Kerry minors, Peter Keane and his management on winning the Munster Championship 2018. We shouldn't take these things for granted and hopefully now this minor team can push on and make their own history in the All Ireland series. We wish them well with that old war cry, come on the Kingdom!

Watching yesterday's game it was hard not to feel sorry for the Cork minors. They were very unlucky to lose to Kerry and now those young fellas are doing nothing for the summer while a very poor Clare team will be playing an all Ireland quarter final. I hope the watching Munster Council VIPs have a look at this format.
Kerry were utterly dominant all over the pitch with Paul Walsh again to the fore up front. The keeper made two great saves, both times making up for a mistake which was good to see. Paul o shea had a heavy strapping on his hamstring and hopefully he will be OK for the quarter final.

How is the draw working out for the minors? 1/4 final vs Connact runners up - Connacht finalists yet to be determined as they are playing a round robin; Galway look likely winners with Roscommon /Mayo the runners up.

I'd be doubtful that anything is going to change too much with the format. Clare are through to an All-Ireland quarter-final largely because of the way the draw put Kerry and Cork together at the knock-out stage. For Clare, Tipperary, Limerick and Waterford a system that allows the possibility of Kerry knocking Cork out or vice-versa is close to ideal. I think it would come down to a 4 v 2 vote on any proposed changes in the Munster Council.

I think it would come down to a 4 v 2 vote on any proposed changes in the Munster Council. It's not about the luck of the draw though. The structure penalises first-round winners by pitting them together in a no-second-chance semi final, while a first-round loser can be beaten twice in Munster (hammered even), yet go straight through to the AI Q/F. This is just unacceptable and can't go on. Cork and Kerry need to make a stand.

Meath are probably the Team in Leinster. Tyrone in Ulster. Galway in Connacht. Dublin are disappointing. They have not been great the last couple of years surprisingly enough.
They do seem strong at U20 level though.

Meath put out a team with 12 changes for this one. Lads who weren't even in first 26 the last day got a run.the fact that they'd already qualified was obviously a factor.

**Maybe a new thread needed for this but I’ll just put it here for the time being...
Minor County Championship Round 1 , West Kerry V Dr. Crokes
Played in Lewis road on a blistering evening it was evident from early on that there was only going to be one winner here as a much bigger and stronger West Kerry team - containing 7 of this years Kerry minor panel (extended) and several more players who lined out for u17s last year - led by 10 points to no score with 20 minutes gone. Without being too harsh on the young Crokes lads, they really were poor and you’d have thought they were the divisional side on show rather than the club team. West Kerry got sloppy towards the end of the first half and didn’t kick a score Forbes the last 10 minutes.
Half time score WK 0-10 Crokes 0-1
Crokes started well and got the first two scores but West Kerry got two quick goals - Killian Falvey penalty and a well taken goal from Ruairi O Beaglaoich. From here it was plain sailing for WK as they defended really well turning over an amount of ball with Sean Og O Morain and Gearoid Lyne particularly impressive at the back. Midfield of Patrick O Donoghue and Thomas Devane won all the ball in midfield and took a couple of scores as well as supplying the ammunition for an impressive forward line of Falvey, O Beaglaoich and the impressive Jack Farrell. Crokes got a goal themselves after a 3rd for Wk - a superb solo goal from sub Dara Hickson Spillane - to leave WK with a healthy margin at the end.
Full Time Score WK 3-15 Crokes 1-5
Due to the lack of a team sheet/programme I haven’t got all the names of the West Kerry lads but I have the majority.
West Kerry Team: 1. Eoin Brosnan (Dingle) 2. Colin Moriarty (Dingle) 3. Sean Og O Morain (Dingle) 4. Conor Flannery (Dingle) 5. Colm Moriarty (Annascaul)0-2(1x45) 6. Gearoid Lyne (Annascaul) 7. Aodan Devine (An Gaeltacht) 8. Patrick O Donoghue (Castlegregory)0-2 9. Thomas Devane (Dingle)0-1 10. William Goodwin (Castlegregory)0-1 11. Killian Falvey (Annascaul)1-3(1xpen) 12. Deividas Uosis (Dingle)0-1 13. Ruairi O Beaglaoich (An Gaeltacht)1-2(1xfree) 14. Jack Farrell (Annascaul)0-1 15. Dylan Geaney (Dingle)0-1free Subs Dara Hickson Spillane (Annascaul)1-0 Chris Kane (Dingle) Brendan Walsh (Castlegregory) Padraig O Cathailain (An Gaeltacht)

Don't know why they didn't just turn the Minor County Championship into an all divisional competition while they were at it this year. From what I can see there are just THREE club teams in the competition proper. Rahillys lost out in the Preliminary Round. It just means less games for the majority of minor club players who won't have any games till their Divisional championships start, which in East Kerry, if they reach they Minor final, will probably be October
