I don't think there is enough scores from play in that half forward line to go all the way and win the all ireland but with 6 subs allowed, I can see Jack Savage, Sean o Shea, Darren and Kevin McCarthy being deployed there from time to time and there is a lot of scoring power in those. It's Kerrys best squad in some time and no shortage of guys with stomach for trench war fare. There is a beautiful ugliness about that half forward line in the most complimentary footballing terms when you want players to go ping pong in the trenches, do a bit of housekeeping and a bit of polishing at the same time. I wouldn't knock them just yet!

I wouldn't knock them just yet! When a team is picked its the half forward line that I glance at first. A dominant free scoring half forward line is crucial. I suppose what i mean is that its unlikely that all three with start together if Kerry progress further but all three are huge players and vital to Kerrys chances. Michael Geaneys value wasnt really appreciated by many till he got injured and i would include myself in that.

Looking at that 26 makes me think that I'd prefer to be a Kerryman on a good day if we get to face the incumbent holders of Sam - Éamonn did it before, no pressure of course, no, none at all, as usual!

No truth to the rummours about one of our forwards being injured that was flying around the weekend?

Very poor by Kerry. Brian Kelly was excellent best game I have ever seen him play. Johnny Buckley had a great game as did Paul Murphy. Kerry did not perform. If it was Dublin it would have been game over early. The old problem of picking up the runners was evident again today. Wide open at the back. A lot of work to be done and a big improvement is needed for them to have any hope.

Efficient without being spectacular. Kerry were ring-rusty and have a lot to work on but that is no bad thing. We were certainly not at full pelt. That is okay, we could have upped the gears if necessary I feel. We played like a team that had not been tested since the Clare game at times. A combination of lack of competitive games and not wanting to show our hand perhaps? Galway have ran through us before, in 2014. Tom Flynn scored a great goal into the railway end. That was rectified for the next game. As you say it was not Dublin and Eamonn will have planned accordingly. Management overall will be happy enough. Kelly is a very good shot-stopper and played well, Murphy did well and was my MOTM. Donaghy's goal was one of his best in the green and gold and will give Ross/Mayo food for thought as the three inside men will need minding. Star will be valuable to us in the tests ahead. Good to see our half forwards getting on the score sheet againot also.

This was a typical 1/4 final from Kerry. An easy win but still loads to work on. I think this game should be forgotten about as soon as. Having looked at Mayo v Roscommon we could have a similar result in the semi final we mightn't have a real test until we meet Dublin!

While I accept this is a quarter final and we have often played poorly in these, the amount of goal scoring chances created by Galway is a massive worry. We were very lucky not to concede at least two goals when the game was in the balance relatively speaking.

Murphy and Buckley were immense. Donnacha wasn't far behind, his work ethic is unreal, thought he was a great out on many occasions when we were struggling to move forward, and key point just before half time. David's passing was mixed bag, great for goal but some shockers. Kelly was indeed very good, particularly save early in second half, would have made it interesting if that went in. Overall though as expected, Galway are poor. James never got it going today, everything was forced, frustrated I'd say. Star was excellent. Mikey was very quiet. From a pure defensive perspective, Shanahan is stronger and stickier than Fionn, and given our defensive frailties from direct runners, I'd prefer him there. Griffin made one terrible position error from a long kickouts, tried to get infront, was cleaned, nearly caused penalty.

Game had a feel that it was a distraction that had to be overcome - Galway lacked serious belief they could win it and Kerry knew this. Dangerous type of game successfully negotiated and no possibility of complacency from the performance. All in all a perfect result.

No truth to the rummours about one of our forwards being injured that was flying around the weekend? Spillane said on the pre-match analysis Jameso was carrying an injury and hadn't trained much recently. So that is probably the rumour you heard about. He definitely did something in the Munster final before he went off. I thought he rolled his ankle but something definitely happened in that collision with a couple of Cork players in second half. He went off shortly after. All these injuries are worrying. I don't know if we'll have enough to win an All-Ireland without both Jameso and Paul Geaney firing fully.

It's a rib injury he's meant to have.
