The immediate intriguing call that the management has to make is who gets the No. 16 jersey. I imagine that Brian Kelly is now regarded as the first choice keeper and is in pole position for the remainder of our journey in this Championship. If you go back anything beyond a few pages on this Forum it becomes obvious that a lot of people want to see Shane Ryan between the post sooner rather than later. I too have always regarded him highly and have no doubt that he has all the attributes of a top class keeper. But the immediate intriguing call that the management has to make is who gets the No. 16 jersey for our next game? Having posed the question, it’s only right that I should give my own opinion for what it's worth! Long term, I would like to see all three, Kelly, Murphy and Ryan battle it out for the No. 1 and 16 jerseys and may the best prevail. All three are excellent shot stoppers. Brian Kelly has the experience but his kick out would not be as good as the other two. Shane Ryan does not have senior experience right now but has all the ‘minerals' otherwise and the best of the three under a high ball. Shane Murphy too is top class and probably the best kicker - particularly smart on the kick out and 45’s. Realistically, we are blessed to have that quality of backup talent to choose from. Right now and for the remainder of the Championship I would give that jersey to Shane Murphy. Not too sure about that, thought there was a kickout chink in the All-Ireland club semi final. Brendan Kealy is my number 1 keeper in Kerry, more so after after his kicking performance in the League Final. I think our goal keeping position has been weakened as a result of his leaving the panel, considerably at that.

Supposedly Galway do win, what's your opinion on their full back line and the high ball? Thinking of it when remembering Sweeney's second goal last year was from a high ball in The Galway full back line is absolutely there for the taking - in a Cork v Kerry Munster final 2014 kind of way. It was mad that Michael Murphy was 100 yards away from Kyne today. I would be very surprised if Walsh let's them that exposed against our lads but certainly our lads would make hay against them given the chance. You generally get a game of football from Galway and that will suit our fellas. Our midfield needs to bring a Darragh type aggression the next day too like Roscommon's did in the Connacht final - particularly Enda Smith. Galway have a nice midfield but for a bunch of big guys they get bullied too easily altogether. If you get stuck into them it's easy unsettle them and put them off their game. Without that primary possession they will struggle then. So for me target their full back line, full back in particular and midfield.

With the new keeper by Galway its unlikely that they will have a "short kickout arrangement" in place.
So he will go long i expect. So Kerrys midfield must be on form including the half forward line winning breaking ball.
Its possible that Galway peaked yesterday and will be flat.
Its possible that Galway could catch fire and take a big lead early on.
Anything is possible with them.

Wrong sport there China!!!!!!!!!!!!We throw in to begin GAA matches...... It is hard to tell even for Galway which team will turn up next Sunday. The one that played last night, the one that beat Mayo or the one that 'played' Roscommon. Kerry will have to prepare for all 3 I guess..........

Yeah expect a bit of a shoot out, that will bring risk so wonder how EF will want to mitigate that.
Want to bring couple of garsuns to game on Sunday, am up within the pale. Suppose online is my best option and that will be Tuesday, any thoughts appreciated. Could probably source down home but logistics of getting up etc,

After the u21 fiasco Galway will earn anything they get from Kerry next weekend. No stone left unturned I'd suspect from Kerry.

Are Galway the kind of team that you need to have your best 15 on for the first 20 minutes rather than the last 20?

I'd imagine we'll be on at 2pm with the larger crowd coming in for Mayo v Roscommon.

Glad to see it on RTE, I don't have Sky but love to record matches and watch them back. TV perspective is always so much different from what you see on the day.

Will Kerry minors or U17 game be fixed for 12.00??? Are the minors playing Saturday? Minors not playing this weekend - they play the following weekend and at QF stage there are no double headers with the minor/seniors normally. Minors normally dont get to play Croke Park until the SF (unless your Leinster and played the Leinster final there)
