Been to a lot of games this year. The standard is good. Hard games to call. West Kerry v Tralee game will be very close. Tralee backboned by the Stacks. They were the best team in Kerry this year.
David Oba very good keeper. Dara Walsh Eoghan O'Carroll Sean Quilter Conor Myers Conor Hayes Adam Curran Luke Chester Daniel Bowler Conor O’Sullivan Padraig Linnane all good players.
West Kerry are strong. Ruaidhrí O' Beaglaoich Conor Flannery Killian Falvey Colm Moriarty Sean Óg Moran Cathal O’Beaglaoich Dylan Geaney Cian O’Grady Aodhan Devane Seamus Lyne very good.
East Kerry with Darragh Lyne Mark Cooper Darragh O'Donoghue Michael Linehan Gary O'Connor Peter O'Sullivan Cian O Leary Eoghan O Sullivan Ruairi Doyle Dylan Callaghan solid team.
Eoghan Ruadh very strong. Marc Kelliher Daniel O’Sullivan Paul O'Shea Patrick Darcy David Dineen Keith O'Leary Alan Dineen Emmet Finian Darragh Rahilly
If I had to call it I would say Eoghan Ruadh to beat Tralee in the final.
Dan McCarthy Tommy Cronin Colin Crowley and Cian O'Connor are good players for Kenmare District. They should be too strong for Shannon Rangers who have Brendan O'Neill and Jack Kennelly would be their main players.
Mid Kerry v Brendans again will be a close game. David Mangan Shane Doona Gary Murphy Dylan O'Neill Ciaran O'Sullivan For Brendans Fergal O Brien Tadhg Lynch Enda O’Connor Jack Sheehan Damien Doherty all good players. I am going to Mid Kerry v Kenmare final.

Bit off with finalist predictions Na Crocaigh,
East Kerry 5-14 Eoghan Ruadh 0-08 West Kerry 6-12 Tralee District 0-03
Was at East Kerry/Eoghan Ruadh match and all I can say is East Kerry were awesome on a dreadful day in Fitzgerald Stadium, Eoghan Ruadh seriously struggled with kickouts, Darragh Donohue, Dylan Callaghan and Darragh Lyne in fantastic form, squad depth played a big part for East in their dismantling of their near neighbours.
Can't get over that score in West Kerry/Tralee game, anyone at the game who can explain what went wrong for Tralee, would've expected Sean Quilter to have put in a big performance.

What clubs are with Eoghan Ruadh that aren't with East Kerry?

Remember that the East Kerry juvenile divisional team bears no relation to the East Kerry team in the County Champion ship. They are separate entities. The Eoghan Ruadh team is Rathmore, Gneeveguilla, Glenflesk, Kilcummin

COUNTY U16 CHAMPIONSHIP QUARTER-FINALS
Second Half Goals See East Kerry Win Derby Game Cup Semi-Final: East Kerry 5-14 Eoghan Ruadh 0-8 Eoghan Rahilly opened the scoring with a great point for Eoghan Ruadh but East Kerry, with Michael Linehan coming out from fullforward to bolster a midfield where Gary O'Connor and especially captain Darragh Lyne dominated, soon took over proceedings in the inclement conditions. Niall McGillicuddy nailed two well-taken frees and Dylan O'Callaghan and Emmet O'Shea pointed to give them a 0-4 to 0-1 advantage. With Danny O'Callagahn causing problems at corner forward, Paul O'Shea closed the gap with two frees, but Dylan O'Callaghan replied from a tight angle and added a free to restore that lead. Eoghan Rahilly, very impressive at wing forward for Eoghan Ruadh, clipped over two great scores and Cian Ring had to make a good save to deny Danny O'Callaghan a goal. East resumed control with two good points by Michael Linehan, now situated on the square, and two great long distance kicks (1'45, 1f) by Darragh Lyne. Both Danny O'Callaghan and Patrick D'Arcy had goal chances for Eoghan Ruadh, but neither could quite convert. Half-time East Kerry 0-10 Eoghan Ruadh 0-5 Eoghan Ruadh made a superb start to the second half with points from Darragh Rahilly, David Dineen, and Patrick D'Arcy. However, the petrol spluttered and the engine died as East Kerry's physical advantage in the rain and razor sharpness in both halves of the field saw them take complete control. A great run by Liam Spillane saw Darragh Donohue finish to the Eoghan Ruadh net. A minute later Niall McGillicuddy tipped a long Darragh Lyne free into the net. McGillicuddy finished off a well-worked team move to the net for the third goal and Darragh Donohue plundered a fourth. Donohue's athleticism and sheer drive was key to East Kerry, especially hoovering up ball in defence, while Darragh Lyne won an enthralling duel with Paul O'Shea to curb Eoghan Ruadh's biggest threat. East Kerry added points from Ryan O'Grady (2), Michael Linehan, and Dylan O'Callaghan before Aaron Flynn closed the game out with a fifth goal. East Kerry: Cian Ring, Evan Smith, Mark Cooper, Liam Spillane, Peter O’Sullivan, Kieran O’Donoghue, Ruairi Doyle, Gary O’Connor, Darragh Lyne (Capt, 0-2, 1'45, 1f), Killian Buckley, Darragh Donohue (2-0), Emmet O’Shea (0-1), Dylan O’Callaghan (0-4, 2f), Michael Lenihan, Niall McGillicuddy (2-2, 2f), William O’Brien, Sean McGann, Liam Kelliher, Tadgh Doolin, Ryan O’Grady (0-2), T J Palmer, Adam Kissane, Eamon Long, Aaron Flynn (1-0), Danny Cronin, Harry Potts, Ryan Kelliher, Cian Murphy, Killian Broderick, Tomás Cronin, Adam Kelly, Alan O’Sullivan, Cian O’Leary, Neil O’Shea. Master-Class By West Kerry Cup Semi-Final: Tralee District 6-12 West Kerry 0-3 (With thanks to Johnny Lenihan for the report) Unfortunately, Tralee District's challenge failed to ignite in the tough weather. With Colm Moriarty (Annascaul) dominating midfield and Killian Falvey cleverly pulling the strings, West Kerry led by 0-3 to 0-1 before Diollún Ó Geibheannaigh and Ruaidhrí Ó Beaglaoich cut in for goals – both corner forwards were superb all through and would raise further green flags before the break. By that stage West Kerry were ahead by 4-9 to 0-3 and, even though they were now facing the strong wind, West Kerry were never going to be caught. In fact, Tralee's best efforts couldn't penetrate a strong defence in which full back Seán Óg Ó Moráin at full back, Séamus Ó Loingsigh, and captain Conor Ó Flannabhra were outstanding. David Costelloe and Colm Moriarty continued to rule the middle third and the game was over as a contest well before Killian Falvey struck for another goal or Diollún Ó Geibheannaigh completed his hat-trick, with Conor Flannery, Jack Farrell, Chris Keane, and Cathal Ó Beaglaoich sniping for scores. West Kerry: Eoghan De Hóra, Séamus Ó Loingsigh, Seán Óg Ó Moráin, Coilín Ó Muircheartaigh, Conor Ó Flannabhra (Capt), Aodhán Ó Dubháin, Séamus Lyne, Colm Moriarty, David Costello, Cathal Ó Beaglaoich, Killian Falvey, Cian O’Grady, Ruaidhrí Ó Beaglaoich, Criostóir Ó Catháin, Diollún Ó Geibheannaigh, Eóin Kennedy, Jack Farrell, Conchubhar Ó Ríagáin, Adam Costello, Naoise Mac Gearailt, Robert Ó Súilleabháin, Jack Moriarty, Conor O’Brien, Aaron Ó Conchúir, Dara Hickson, Pádraig Ó Cearnaigh. Tralee District: David Oba, Stephen Bowler, David Burke , Luke Chester, James Sheehan, Eoghan Carroll , Daniel O’Rourke, Sean Quilter, Adam Curran, Daragh Fitzgerald , Conor Hayes, Alex O’Shea, Daniel Bowler , Conor Myers , Cian Purcell, Joe Murphy, Sean Stack-Pullen, Tyreece Flaherty, Niall Fitzmaurice, Barry Foley, Dara Barry-Walsh, Danny Draghici, Pádraig White. Kenmare Win A Shoot-out Thriller Plate Semi-Final: Kenmare District 3-9 Shannon Rangers 1-14 (With thanks to Johnny Lenihan for the match report) This was arguably the best game of the day, a real thriller that saw two of the greatest sharpshooters in the competition duke it out to huge applause and great excitement. Jack Kennelly opened the scoring for Shannon Rangers and Colin Crowley replied, and those two would sparkle in the headlights all day. It was 0-3 apiece when Crowley fed Cian O'Connor at close range and the net billowed. A minute later Crowley on a surging run gathered from Cian Hanley and he confidently blasted home. Jack Kennelly briefly stemmed the momentum with a free but Crowley struck again and it was 3-3 to 0-4. Kennelly added another free and Kevin Goulding hit a great goal to give Shannon Rangers hope. Kenmare closed out the half well, though, with points from Colin Crowley, Tom Murnane, and Cian O'Connor. Half-time Kenmare District 3-6 Shannon Rangers 1-5 Shannon Rangers took over in the third quarter – the strong wind in their favour was a factor, but far from the only one. Luke O'Donovan pointed from play while the unerring Jack Kennelly added five majestic frees to his tally. At 3-8 to 1-11, the game was getting tight. Dan McCarthy, impressive all through, pushed the lead out to four, but back came James Donerghan with a long range monster score for Shannon Rangers. Colin Crowley replied with quite possibly the best point of the day. Shannon rangers had no give in them, though, and Jack Kennelly with two frees (taking his tally for the day to a whopping 0-11, 8f) Kenmare District: Dylan Cusack, Sean Lucey, James McCarthy (Capt), Kieran Harrington, Cian O’Sullivan, Gary Randles, Tommy Cronin, Colin Crowley (2-5), Jack Foley (0-1), Kane Reidy, Cian Hanley, Tom Murnane (0-1), Cian O’Connor (1-1), Dan McCarthy (0-1), Ronan Foley, Mark Looney, Daniel Crowley, Jason O’Shea, David Ciuciu, Dion Murphy, Pádraig Cronin, Darragh O’Brien, Michael O’Sullivan, Gearóid Doyle, Evan O’Callaghan, Mark Torpey, Mark Casey, Corey Murphy. Mid Kerry Edge A Thriller Plate Semi-Final: Mid Kerry 4-12 St. Brendans 4-10 St. Brendans kicked into top gear straight away, Jack Sheehan goaling right from the throw-in and Nathan Driscoll adding a superbly struck penalty shortly after. Jack O'Connor and Roan Moriarty, both of whom impressed, managed to keep Mid Kerry in touch, but Enda O'Connor and Fergal O'Brien maintaining the upper jhand for St. Brendans, they had a deserved 2-5 to 0-6 lead by the time John Ross sounded the short whistle. The weather, never condusive to great football (but the remarkable skill on view belied that) worsened during the second half. Shane Daly in the Brendans' goal did brilliantly to block what looked like a certain goal, but was helpless as Rian O'Donovan reacted sharply to put the rebound into the net. Shane Doona followed upo with a great point and Mid Kerry were back in the game, 2-5 to 1-7. A Jack O'Connor goal put Mid Kerry into the lead for the first time. An undaunted St. Brendans, inspired by Nathan O'Driscoll in particular, nudged back in front by two points. They were rocked on their heels though when fisrt Sean O'Brien and then Jack O'Connor found the net in quick succession. Both sides gave everything in the dying minutes as St. Brendans rallied magnificently, but when Shane Doona drained a stupendous long range free, it was enough to see Mid Kerry over the finishing line after a thriller. Mid Kerry: Cian Knight, Liam Roche, David Leane, John Dennehy, Gary Murphy, Keith Suiter, James Hurley, Kieran O’Sullivan, Sean Hogan, Jack O’Connor, Killian Murphy, Dylan O’Neill, Rian Donovan, Ron Moriarty, Shane Doona. A little surprised by the results but not by the players on each team. Eoghan Ruadh are a much better team than that and Tralee also. A very strong u17 Kerry team next year as you can see.

Teams are as named on the match programme, not necessarily as they lined out on the day. I am told that Tralee District were missing some key players on the day, but I don't know who.

I just think Ruadh and Tralee didn't perform on the day. No doubt East Kerry and West Kerry deserved it but the other two were poor. There will probably be 3 or 4 from Tralee and 3 or 4 from Eoghan Ruadh on it next year.

County U16 Football Finals
Cup Final: East Kerry 5-10 West Kerry 3-10
Diollún Ó Geibheannaigh and Ruadhrí Ó Beaglaíoch have been superb all through the competition and opened the final with rapid points. However East Kerry, who had a physical advantage, were soon level thanks to Michael Linehan and Killian Buckley and ahead when Linehan laid off to Dylan O'Callaghan for a goal. Undaunted, West Kerry picked off good scores through Ó Geibheannaigh, Ó Beaglaíoch, playmaker Killian Falvey, and a monster '45 by top class midfielder Colm Moriarty. That put them back in front by 0-6 to 1-2. However, with Mark Cooper, Liam Spillane, and Ruairi Doyle controlling the back and Darragh Lyne and Gary O'Connor, supplemented by the athleticism of livewire Darragh Donohue bossing midfield, East Kerry began to make inroads. Niall McGillicuddy pointed a free before Killian Buckley's brilliant lobbed pass teed up Emmet O'Shea for a great goal. O'Shea added a point before Michael Linehan, enormously effective, struck for a goal. Ruaidhrí Ó Beaglaíoch trimmed the lead with two points but Niall McGillicuddy sliced in for another goal and Darragh Donohue closed out the first half scoring.
Half-time East Kerry 4-5 West Kerry 0-8
Emmet O'Shea, Dylan O'Callaghan, and Darragh Lyne from long range stretched the lead at the start of the second half. West Kerry were working themselves back into the game, though, with the placement of Cathal Ó Beaglaíoch on the square as a targetman – he was unlucky not to goal early on as Cian Ring made a superb save. Conor Ó Flannabhra, another player who was superb in this half, set up Conchubar Ó Riagáin for a 42nd minute goal and Killian Falvey added a point when his blistering shot rose a fraction too high. Right from the kick-out, Colm Moriarty was unlucky to see a bullet shot just skim the outside of the post. Dylan O'Callaghan and TJ Palmer notched East Kerry points to make it 4-10 to 1-9, but West Kerry were far from done. Colm Moriarty forced another great save out of Cian Ring, but even the Firies keeper was hapless when Ruaidhrí Ó Beaglaíoch picked his spot. Diollún Ó Geibheannaigh made it 4-10 to 2-10. Killian Falvey struck for a goal as West Kerry laid seige. Séamus Lyne made a great block to deny Darragh Donohue a certain score but TJ Palmer raced through for another goal. A clincher? West Kerry didn't think so! Jack Farrell fed Conor Ó Flannabhra but again Ring was equal to the captain's blistering shot. Again West Kerry attacked a crowded East Kerry square, and a foul on Ruaidhrí Ó Beaglaíoch saw excellent referee Ger Lynch whistle for a penalty. Jack Farrell's shot was precision perfect – but Ring's full length save was even better. West Kerry never gave up, but the clock finally ran out on their great efforts and East Kerry were champions.
East Kerry: Cian Ring, Evan Smith, Mark Cooper, Liam Spillane, Peter O’Sullivan, Kieran O’Donoghue, Ruairi Doyle, Gary O’Connor, Darragh Lyne (Capt., 0-1), Killian Buckley (0-1) Darragh Donohue (0-1), Emmet O’Shea (1-2), Dylan O’Callaghan (1-2) Michael Linehan (1-1), Niall McGillycuddy (1-1, 1f), William O’Brien, Sean McGann, Liam Kelliher, Tadgh Doolin, Ryan O’Grady, T J Palmer (1-1), Adam Kissane, Eamon Long, Aaron Flynn, Danny Cronin, Harry Potts, Ryan Kelliher, Cian Murphy, Killian Broderick, Tomás Cronin, Adam Kelly, Alan O’Sullivan, Cian O’Leary, Neil O’Shea.
West Kerry: Eoghan De Hóra, Séamus Ó Loingsigh, Seán Óg Ó Moráin, Coilín Ó Muircheartaigh, Conor Ó Flannabhra (Capt), Aodhán Ó Dubháin, Séamus Lyne, Colm Moriarty (0-1, 1'45), David Costello, Cathal Ó Beaglaoich, Killian Falvey (0-2), Cian O’Grady, Ruaidhrí Ó Beaglaoich (1-4, 3f) Criostóir Ó Catháin, Diollún Ó Geibheannaigh (0-3), Eóin Kennedy, Jack Farrell, Conchubhar Ó
Ríagáin (1-0), Adam Costello, Naoise Mac Gearailt, Robert Ó Súilleabháin, Jack Moriarty, Conor
O’Brien, Aaron Ó Conchúir, Dara Hickson, Pádraig Ó Cearnaigh.

Plate Final: Mid Kerry 5-13 Kenmare District 0-14
Cian O'Connor opened proceedings with a free after the influential Dan McCarthy was fouled, but Mid Kerry quickly began to dominate. Outstanding midfielder Sean Hogan banged over a great point before Killian Murphy struck for the game's first goal. Two minutes later, he repeated the trick after being picked out by Roan Moriarty. Dylan O'Neill and Shane Doona added points to make it 2-3 to 0-1. Cian O'Connor doubled Kenmare's tally with a free and both Tom Murnane and Colin Crowley (supplied by a great steal by Cian Hanley) drew great saves out of Mid Kerry keeper Cian Knight. Roan Moriarty pointed but an incredible run by James McCarthy saw Cian O'Connor score his third point. Disaster struck on the twenty minute mark for Kenmare when Shane Doona neatly finished a third Mid Kerry goal. Jack O'Connor added a brace and Roan Moriarty hit the net again before Colin Crowley became the second Kenmare player on the scoresheet.
Half-time Mid Kerry 4-7 Kenmare District 0-4
Colin Crowley neatly drilled over a free to start the second half but points from Shane Doona (2, 1f) and Sean Hogan made it 4-10 to 0-5. It looked as if the cake was already iced, but Kenmare had other ideas and went to work with a will. Dan McCarthy was superb in the engine room and a foul on him saw the accurate O'Connor pull one back. Colin Crowley added another after a foul on Cian Hanley and was then fouled himself for another score. Cian O'Connor made it 4-10 to 0-11 with Kenmare's sixth point on the trot before Shane Doona (f) and Killian Murphy interrupted the flow. Cian O'Connor (2) and Colin Crowley tried hard to cut the gap but an excellent Mid Kerry closed out the game with a Killian Murphy point and a cracking goal from the wily Jack O'Connor.
Mid Kerry: Cian Knight, Liam Roche, David Leane, Gabriel Griffin, Gary Murphy, Keith Suiter, James Hurley, Kieran O’Sullivan, Sean Hogan (0-2), Jack O’Connor (1-2), Killian Murphy (2-3) Dylan O’Neill (0-1), Rian Donovan, Roan Moriarty (1-2) Shane Doona (Capt., 1-4, 2f), Sean Langford, John Dennehy, Sean O’Brien, Eoin Clifford, Liam Clifford, David Mangan, Dara Dennehy, Darragh O’Dowd, Ronan O’Shea, Cian Lenihan, Martin Foley, Jack Sullivan, Ethan Coffey, Conor
Burke, Tommy Quirke.
Kenmare District: Dylan Cusack, Sean Lucey, James McCarthy (Capt), Kieran Harrington, Cian O’Sullivan, Gary Randles, Tommy Cronin, Dan McCarthy, Jack Foley, Kane Reidy, Cian Hanley (0-1) Tom Murnane, Cian O’Connor (0-7, 3f), Colin Crowley (0-6, 5f), Ronan Foley, Daniel Crowley, Jason O’Shea, David Ciuciu, Dion Murphy, Paraig Cronin, Darragh O’Brien, Michael O’Sullivan, Gearóid Doyle, Mark Looney, Evan O’Callaghan, Mark Torpey, Mark Casey, Corey Murphy.

Sorry mickmack, I have no idea. I know some of the top players in this year's U16 comp have family involved at higher levels, but Coiste na nOg tries to stay away from that, just to give the lads space. None of these lads have pedigrees to 'live up to' and we want them to know that. Likewise, I don't believe it would be fair for me to be speculating about next year's minor team, simply because I try to work along with these teams in promoting our competitions. Put it this way, the last 4 kerry minor teams didn't need my opinion much!

There were no u17 players this Year ('16-'17)who weren't at the age. I am sure that none of them are underage for the year's coming minor championship('17-'18)

Sorry, I meant players on the U17 panel that were eligible for U17 this year, lads that are eligible for U16 this year but made the U17 Kerry panel. Haven't heard of anyone making that jump, it would be a big ask on the physical side in fairness. We might be surprised with the u17 panel in the coming year though as regards players from the year below stepping up.

Are there any out there good enough who are not on the age next year i.e just 16 next year, who could start? Geaney from Dingle is very good, O'Callaghan from Firies, Crowley from Templenoe, Doyle from Fossa are all very strong players playing above their own age groups.

How many feckin corner forward playing Geaneys are Dingle going to produce? It seems that you're not a Kerry team these days unless you have a Geaney in the FF line
