Forget about the so called system Tyrone have the most lavish center of excellence in Ireland at Garvaghy yet they can't score a simple point today they left at least 8 easy ones after them today Contrast that to the Derry Minors today who are just across the other side of the Sperrins they lit the place up with some brilliant point scoring . People should sort out the basic skills like kicking the ball over the bar before they go overboard on elaborate systems in marking space You do know Tyrone scored 2-18 to win the U-17 competition yesterday? I'd say it's safe enough to assume that basic point scoring skills aren't being completely ignored up there.

There was nothing to back up some pundits' opinions that Tyrone could stay within 10 points of Dublin, let alone beat them! Vastly overrated all year. They just don't have the forwards. Sorry Dermot! I thought they were very overrated last year. But they had me fooled this year. I thought they could put it up to Dublin. Then again, I thought we could put it up to Tyrone. It's weird what a few wins can do to your perspective. Then again, the best team they beat was Donegal. And how good are they in reality, considering the Galway defeat?

You'd never think this Tyrone was the same county with the same manager as the teams of a few years back. Hardly a tackle to be seen, good or bad. They might as well have got tickets for the Cusack yesterday. Ricey must have been tearing his hair out watching that.

Hard luck Dermot, the game didn't live up to the billing and hype. The early goal knocked the stuffing out of ye and it was a long road back. On another note Sean Cavanagh is a fantastic footballer and it was sad that this was his last game. But again he showed real class when talking after the game. A true warrior who will be sorely missed by Tyrone folk and neutrals alike.

I have never seen Tyrone being turned over when in possession so much. All the talk about the Dubs forwards overlooks the the brilliant defense the Dubs have.

I think before the game people talked about Tyrone targeting Dublin lads, but Dublin made sure Peter Harte was never going to do much. John small never gave him an inch. Johnny Cooper also is a great reader of the game. I think he kept Andy Moran to a point last year in final ( I could be wrong ). But yesterday the half forwards got back , Mannion at least 3 times stripped the ball from attacking Tyrone guys. Mayo will be a different ball game , there could be a twist yet , but I've a feeling Dublin feel they owe a performance after last year's final.

Dublin haven't really performed that well in any of the AIs finals in recent years. Talk this year that Gavin has tried to time their peak for now but remains to be seen of course.

True , I guess we will find out if Mayo were very good last year or we were leggy. In 15 and 16 we had tough semifinals . This year the game with Mayo will be battle and we will have to go hard from the start. I said way back on this forum that Mayo are a top team and so they have proved. After Monaghon quarter final I felt we looked the freshed I've seen in years. Fenton looked tired in the league, just jogging at times. On Sunday he was flying. Mc Carthy in midfield has worked very well. But Jack mc Caffrey return after being out last year gives Dublin that injection of pace that opens up teams.no money in the world can buy that , plus addition of Con means we do look strong. But their is always the worry that Tyrone didn't lay a glove on us and gave us a false sense of where we are at, I guess after the final we will find out whether we are that far ahead or as you were from last year.

No word from Dermot. He might be trawling the internet for new emojis to reflect last Sunday. Still, their u17s won and young Canavan got a great goal in the process.

I wonder if there are going to be question marks over Tyrone's management after this? I'll be interested in what Dermot has to say about it. Be prepared for about 15 emojis. .. just the one buck .. ok then, two

I wonder if there are going to be question marks over Tyrone's management after this? I'll be interested in what Dermot has to say about it. thats a tricky one Glengael .... see below... There was nothing to back up some pundits' opinions that Tyrone could stay within 10 points of Dublin, let alone beat them! Vastly overrated all year. They just don't have the forwards. Sorry Dermot! I totally agree Jigz ... I was just talking to a mate this morning and we were reminiscing that when we won our 3 AI's we had forwards like PTG, S O'Neill, S Cavanagh in his prime, Mugsy, Dooher & Brian McGuigan to name but a few ..... they were unreal players and it takes that to win these AIs ... we simply dont have that at the minute.. Saying all that, on Sunday we were horrendous.. Dublin were fantastic for sure but we were hopeless ... The space the Dubs got was criminal and we just stood off them and let them at it.. Now Mayo mightn't beat them but they surely wont stargaze like we did ... there were Dubs on Sunday who hardly had a hand layed on them ... incredible stuff... This brings me back to Glengaels point above .. Personally I would find it difficult to call for Mickeys head, but I can certainty wee why some will be ... Sunday was a monumental managemental disaster btw, I have to laugh at the usual suspects on here rejoicing more in Tyrones defeat than lamenting Kerry's loss ... lol

(though I still cant quite fathom why we stood off youse so much ??) Yeah, he was some player .. he won 2008 for us on his own nearly...

Thats the only emoji I need at the minute .... Yeah the U17 was a great win and great to see PTGs son still following in the aul fells footsteps.... by the looks of it we need as many forwards as we can get ...

Sad to see a giant of the game retire in Sean Cavanagh- a shimmy we will not see the likes of again.
He won 3 All Irelands for Tyrone but his contribution was showing up Brolly for the pathetic, hypocritical imbecile that he is.
He was a real leader of men and I'm sure Tyrone will struggle to replace someone of such ability and personality.

"strange" That isn't a typical diagnosis if you "sea kelp" but sure there you go. More seriously, I think you are seeing bitterness where there is none. PM me if you disagree.
