mickmack, i wont be in ennis today, i will be at coldplay. I was at derry game last week and missed a kings of leon concert, coz i knew it was important to support the lads first game in the qualifiers. I think it will be a tight game, but hopefully we got rid of our dirty diesel with last weeks normal time performance, otherwise we will be in trouble. Clare look a decent outfit and we wont be taking them for granted, and hopefully we will prevail.

You disagreed with Micks comment on Vaughan not been a main man. Connolly was not a main man last year. Do you agree with this statement? Again you dont see anything wrong with mc carthy or john small incident or connolly incident shown in the videos. see no evil hear no evil attitude set by gavin. The hyprocracy of the dublin county board complaining about playing a game, and the home team has advantage. Thats what i meant about the irony. How many championship games are held outside of croke park with the dubs? 1 token game each season? And your gonna blame the leinster board!!!! Yawn, how many home decisions do you get by refs, and then crawl over the line with a 1 point win? I think you are out of your depth here pal!!! To take your points in order. I disagree that Vaughan is a main man. I disagree with your statement on Connolly. I think he might be the only outfield Dublin player to play every minute of their last 5 finals. That would suggest he is a main man in every sense of the word. I watched the McCarthy video, there is an argument for saying he took out Vaughan. Equally it's not clear if he did it on purpose or not. But you and Mick say hes guilty. Ok Didn't watch either John Small or Connolly video. From memory, Small threw a punch while on the deck, could have been red. Maybe yellow on mitigation of tangling with COC. DConnolly from memory hit Vaughan with an off the ball shoulder, Vaughan ran after him to exact revenge. Think he got some, of sorts. 2yellows? If off the ball shoulder is a yellow then there would be 28 yellows dished out in every game. Don't think Gavin has a see no evil hear no evil attitude. So I disagree with that one. Dublin county board are open to accusations of hypocrisy based on the perception that the footballers get favourable treatment re Croke Park. But I agree with an earlier opinion above, that the GAA are chasing the dollar, and the Dublin hurlers are deemed collateral damage here. Dublin footballers have played the Leinster qf outside of Dublin in last two years. Based on the fact that they have won those games, there is a fair argument for saying the next game, the Leinster semi, will be a home fixture. Your the one who brought up the Leinster Council but sure we'll blame Dublin for making 10 of the other 11 counties vote in favor of playing in Croke Park. I agree that Dublin crawl over the line by a point in lots of big games, but I'm not sure that's because we get all the big decisions. Here's a question for you. Did Mayo do anything wrong in the nature of foul play in either game last year? Because reading your posts you haven't referenced any fouls by them. But maybe I missed something. Go on back to Hoganstand forum like a good lad, before you embarrass yourself any further.

In fairness the supporters were great when the fat was in the fire, in last 5 minutes

In the hurling last night Cody was making a bee line for the Waterford manager and the linesman came between them. Cody "put his hands" on the linesman while venting his anger at the Waterford manager. It will be intetesting to if anything is made of it.

Some randoms -Harrison should have walked for Mayo, deliberate spear tackle. Pa Cronin should gone for Cork, forearm and butt of Hurley up in 'supposed' shoulder charge. Clare player's helmet came off.Ref bottled it.

If a black card was there in hurling it would have been flashed a few times in Cork v Clare.

Have the CCCC commented on the Cody incident yet?

Have the CCCC commented on the Cody incident yet? I don't think there was anything in it but it's interesting how protective the TSG hurling pundits are on this one, playing it down. Contrasts starkly to some of the witch hunt merchants attached to the footballing fraternity (take a bow Mr Curry in particular).

On another topic, Duignan fairly got stuck into the GAA over the Sky deal last night. Fair dues, didn't hold back.

Remember he's paid by RTE. Sky haven't got the audience figures yet but their presentation was better the one game I saw

Robbed from somewhere else:
"I just dont get how people havent been able to get their heads around the concept that Sky are showing additional games over and above what RTE used to show. RTE isnt showing less matches and still has the pick of the matches."

Factually incorrect, Sky have taken exclusive right to two football quarter finals and other games previously available on free to air.

How many matches were shown 10 years ago? How many are shown now?
If you want to watch then go- noone has a God given right to have these games for free. I have a mate who called to the house last Saturday evening- he was unaware that Kilkenny were playing Waterford but when he heard it was on Sky- he went on a rant about Sky- as if he was entitled to watch a match that he neither knew aboit nor cared about.
The quarter finals will not be sold out- if people want to watch them then head on up.

Is this not the reason the GAA are peddling out as to why the deal with Sky is in place?? So they can reach new fans or casual fans? Again, and I don't know how more clear this can be, these games were FREE on TV3!!! And their bid was, by all accounts the same or very similar to Sky's

How ironic is it that just two weeks after Jim Gavin makes an ass of himself with his comments about the punditry on The Sunday Game, the very same program have the Commercial and Marketing Manager for Dublin GAA on as a pundit.

A lot of elderly are surviving on very small income. A lot of families cant afford to go. The wheel turns quickly. The GAA should be more thoughtful about a constituency that was very loyal to it throughout their lives.
