I know the game was listed as sold out but there appeared to be lots of room behind the goal at the pavillion end and life was very comfortable on the terraces with no crushing. Felt the ground could easily have taken another couple of thousand.

Recently learnt in Kerry's 34 unbeaten streak, the win percentage was 97.1%. Dublin's is 82.4% A vs B grade no comparison! Same person tells me Dublin have to win their next 170 games in a row to reach that grade! Those stats suggest 1 draw and 33 victories for Kerry's run of 34 undefeated compared to 6 draws in Dublins run - and four of Dublins draws have come in the last six months. Dublin have drawn 4 of their last seven league and championship games!!! Does Dublins sequence include O Byrne Cup or is it league and championship only?

Morley is the find of this years league campaign, tough no no nonsense defender.. BJK can do some great things when things loosen out a bit but sometimes I question his decision making..again last night he fired off an impossible effort when best to hold procession. Need to wrap Geaney in cotton wool if he gets injured we're in big trouble. MDMC is always niggling even when the free is given he's still leaving a hand in, delaying play and never gets pulled, can't kick a ball to save his life. O'Gara I don't understand why he's making the dublin panel. When 4 down I would have taken a draw actually would have taken a draw at the start once we stood up to dublin. Wouldn't blame Murphy had plenty of chances to be out the gate before then. When you see Cavan turning over Mayo, donegal beating Tyrone last 2 games will be sticking.

Sorry Mickmac. It was Kerrygold that was just about to tuck into his hat. It's all those black stars that has me confused. Just about calming down after a fairly heated match and the Dublin team bus pulls up outside the hotel. Might go out and give Philly a big kiss the little teddy bear that he is. Give that thug O Gara a rasper - he came on tonight and spent the entire time throwing his weight around with little interest in playing football. It seemed that nobody especially the umpires could see what O Gara was at. As for Michael Darragh McAuley with his elbows, I cant understand why he's getting away with it every match.

It explains his eagerness to give that phantom free agsinst Tyrone to level it and keep dublins run going. Joe wouldnt want that blot of his blue copybook.

That was a smashing game today between Mayo and Cavan in contrast to the non stop street fighting we saw last night. Two aspects of the game interested me from a Kerry standpoint. Kicking long range points is a way to combat massed defences . Both teams were very good at it. We seem to be unable to do that. Secondly, how both teams seemed to be tackle without conceding frees to any great extent. In that respect, our tackling is abysmal. It seemed last night , in the second half anyway, that our excuse me tackling gave repeated chances to Dublin. Perhaps, some of them were soft but our lack street wisdom in that area makes it easy for the referee. It happens in match after match.
That Gearoid McKiernan who kicked all those scores from midfield is no flash harry. I saw him in the division two final last year against Tyrone , played before the Kerry/Dublin final, and he did something similar. Things could be hot for us up in Cavan next Sunday. It really is the key game as regards staying up because Cavan has Roscommon as their last game.
People have rightly pointed out the need to stand up to Dublin physically but you have to be sensible about it. I will cite Adrian Spillane as an example. Most of us would agree that this man is a prospect. I had a good view of him last night as he spent a lot of time in front of me on the terrace side. From the off he was engaging his man in pulling and dragging and niggling. Who does suit the wing back or the wing forward? You certainly will not contribute much offensively to a forward which needs all the help it can get . It also means that you are not completely tuned into your primary chore. In any case, Adrian persisted with this tactic even when his opponent was running away from him. On one such occasion, he kept up this tactic and his opponent cleverly gave a reverse head butt smack into Adrian's pus and down goes Adrian. I am not condoning what the Dub did but the hope is that Adrian will have learned the following lesson. Never start a fight you cannot finish.

So the unbeaten run isn't really an unbeaten run. Great to see that Donald Trump's interpretation of facts has spread to this side of the water!!!!!!!

I still think Kerry got more from last night than Dublin despite the end result. We stayed with them and instead of collapsing in the last ten minutes went toe to toe. Also the niggle thoughout the game will give them confidence. Have a recollection of some of the Kerry 4 in a row team saying that their turning point came in a tempestous game in NYC which was decried as a brutal game of attrition - having lost 76 & 77 to Dublin standing up to them in NYC was their coming of age and they realised that these guys can be beaten. I live in hope......

Conceeding scoreable frees again came back to bite us on the hole. It was an exciting game because it was close. In my view Dublin played much better. Their passing and movement was superior. Morley has cemented himself into the team. MDMA is an ape.Draw is a fair result. I've been watching him closely in the last couple of year's, to me he seems to be a very un-natural player.Throw him a ball and his first instinct is to "dribble" basket ball style. He uses his bulk to barge, rather than run, he seems to panic when he does manage to get the ball and can't lay it off quickly enough.Another and more annoying habit is his constant use of late elbows on opponents.

Was one of Kerrys victories a walkover in those percentage stats. . I don't know. I just got the text. To boot there was no national league played during this era in 1929/1930 season "depriving" Kerry of 8 more opportunities to extent their run. There is no obvious record of any walkover in the Championship in that era for Kerry (open to correction).

Can anyone tell me how much longer are we going to persist with the rotation of Kealy and Kelly? Neither of whom are the best keepers in the county, Shane Murphy and Shane Ryan are both far better shot stoppers and can go short or long without any issue! Both of them can also slot frees and 45s for fun! Is it blind faith and twisted loyalty on Fitmaurice's part? Because these two are costing us games, between missed frees and poor restarts! to be fair to management both the shanes are currently unavailable to them so its a bit unfair to criticise them on that score. If we go into championship without the shanes, or at least one of them, then you would have a point alright.

On the train down yesterday some dipstick was pontificating about how it would be a "training match against a team of reserves", in fairness the "reserves" didn't do such a bad job. Brian Fenton was kept very quiet last night, which I haven't seen for a while. Our discipline needs to improve, Dublin had a minimal score from play but the free count in Dean Rock's range was stupid. I was happy to see a fight in our lads right to the end instead of going off the boil halfway through the second half which had been the pattern of late.

If Kerry are to win an All Ireland this year their tackling needs to improve exponentially. While it takes two to tango, I just feel 8 yellow cards looks very poorly on both our tackling and discipline. As in last year's Semi Final we did a great job limiting the Dublin chances from play, but giving away so many frees is going to make very hard work of beating Dublin. I thought the ref may have given a few soft frees to Dublin last night (and would be interested to hear of those who were there had the same feeling, it certainly looked that way on the tube)... But even those aside I thought a good few times we tackled poorly, and it is a little worrying how cynical we've become at times. I know the argument "they're all at it" can be made, but as a county who pride ourselves on the finer arts of the game, it is disheartening to see so many pull backs etc happening.

Interesting that there are a diverse range of views on last nights events on here. Even among Kerry fans a split between those who thought Kerry were right to make it a dog fight and those who think they were far too cynical. When your own are split you can guess what the neutrals thought. On the game, 10 mins into the 2nd half I'd have taken your hand off for a draw. V proud of our lads to show such character, a dirty night, into the teeth of a gale, 4 down, playing in a hothouse hometown atmosphere, and a lot of the main men unavailable. Moran was excellent for Kerry, first time he laid a metaphorical glove on Fenton. Might be a different story running around Croker in the summer hopefully. Geaney is absolute quality, if we keep him quiet were halfway there. As for the referreeing, all I'll say is this, after 3mins when Kilkenny got hit with a punch to the midriff that was supposed to be a tackle and the ref let it go you knew it was going to be carnage.
