I have to say dis is a ridiculous comment by banner man. The 2 teams beat all that were put in front of them and bout deserve to b in the final. Anyone can win county league games but it's championship where d best team show der colours. Saying teams would b kicking themselves is a bit insulting to d 2 teams that have made is there

A lot of teams will be kicking themselves and feeling sorry for themselves when it is a dromid firies final Fair play to both teams, there because they deserve to be there but few would have predicted either to be in final Next year's junior be tough, beaufort na Gael ballydonoghue spring to mind straight away Daft comment, Id say you don't know much about club football after that. Firies are an up and coming team with some very talented minors. Also, would I be right in saying that this is Dromids 4th junior final appearance since 2010? You don't fluke your way to finals that many times. I think too many people look at county league position when trying to figure out championship predictions, it simply doesn't work like that

I suppose I just dont see why all the hype about Na Gaeil. Is it all based off last years run to the final? A championship at any grade is a very hard thing to win (Unless your Crokes!) Just look at Glenbeigh/Glencar, it took them years to get over the line in the junior. There are some really good teams around the county that never made any serious impact in the championship

There are some really good teams around the county that never made any serious impact in the championship Well I guess it was based around having both a Kerry minor & senior midfielder- along with having several other very good ex- Kerry underage players. On paper they would have been strong favourites- so it was a great result for Firies, no one is doubting that.

Firies ran Templenoe close two years ago. Several good young players have come on board since then.

Should make for a good final, Dromid are flying under Declan's management and firies on the back of the na Gaeil win will be full of confidence.

Niall Shea went off injured for South Kerry yesterday, he could be a big loss to Dromid if he doesnt make it back in time. Their preparation for the final must have been fairly disrupted having a handful of players involved with SK

Think dis will b a very exciting high scoring final. Both good young teams (bar Denis shine 41 I believe). Hard to call but think dromid might shade it only based on they have had a consistent run of good results all year but firies have proven good championship performers such as d an gaeil win. Dromid hesitantly by 2

Pulsating game that went to extra time. Overall dromid were by far d superior team although 6pts down at one stage would suggest otherwise. 6-5 to firies at half time with Donnacha o Sullivan to d fore of all firies good play. Dromid could have been well up at dis stage but for some bad wides. Second half started in blistering fashion with firies banging 1-2 to go 6 up. Game over one would say but not for d first time dromid should really heart to claw back point by point. Firies seemed to stop playing when they went 6 up. Possible inexperience. Half of dromid team playing der 4th final with only one 2 playing der first. Extra time was always dromids with Gramham o Sullivan excellent. Firies will learn from d defeat. They have were good young team. Dromid will hopefully us d experience of 2011 and go a long way. Dromids tactics will have to improve. Played gramham as a sweeper for 40 minutes and conceded lockouts but when they pushed up d game swung back in der favour with gramham kicking d last 4 points of d game Though ref was good. A lot of championship hits were let good(all fair nothing dirty) Game flowed although d last few frees to dromid might b questionable On a side note. Timing off game was a disgrace with it borderline dangerous towards d end with fog ang darkness. County board should do better

Anyone that paid in yesterday got full value for their money anyway! As already mentioned, Dromid were the better team but their shooting was way off in the first half really should have been 3 or 4 up at HT and not 1 down. Jack Sherwood was causing problems with his direct strong running. Firies started off the second half at an electric pace and 1-2 put them 6 points up. De Bruin took his goal really well after some great movement. Id say not many gave Dromid any hope of a comeback at that stage, 3 decent goal chances missed before Aidan Shine kicked their first point 16 minutes into the second half and from there they just clawed it back point by point. Tomas Curran scored the last 4 from frees to level it. Real pressure kicks, especially the last one and they all sailed over. Extra time was all Dromid and Graham Sullivan burst through a few times and kicked some great points. Firies looked spent at this stage and had to go for goal which they never really looked like getting. A great effort from both teams, the amount of players going down with cramp showed that everyone left it all on the pitch. Firies will be disappointed but on this display should be in the mix again next year if they learn from yesterday as they have a very good young team. Dromids bit of experience pulled them through this one, all their subs made a difference and they are away to Clare champions next weekend. On a sidenote the delay at the start of the game was a joke, both teams about to step out onto the field and were told to go back and wait another 15 minutes, the queue to get into the game was a mile long and the badly handled. Maybe the county board werent expecting the crowd (which was huge) Killorglins pitch isnt the easiest venue anyway because of the lack of parking

Long journey for Dromid this weekend. I think the next stop west after the Naomh Eoin pitch is Loop Head!

Savage match down in Dromid yesterday. Galtee Gaels were very impressive in the opening 15 minutes and kicked some lovely scores and banged in 3 goals in a short space of time. Dromid seemed very slow out of the blocks and were wiped out around the midddle early on. The backs were struggling under the pressure and the Limerick champs looked like they were going to spring a shock. Then Dromid changed things around, brought Tomas Curran out from ff to the middle and moved Dilan O Donoghue into the ff line. Instantly Dromid got back into it as Curran was getting the better of Childs in the middle and Farley, Graham Sullivan and Niall Shea were doing good work going forward. Second half was all Dromid and I think the visitors only managed a single point in this time (open to correction on that) It took a late equalising point from Kealan Farley to level it, he made a big impact when introduced. ET was mostly all the home side as they looked fitter and Graham Sullivan kicked a few points, it actually was very similar to the extra time in the county final. Niall Shea was red carded, for what I couldnt say as there was nothing obvious, Galtee Gaels were also reduced to 14 midway through the second half as their full back picked up a second yellow. A great atmosphere on the day, fair play to the Limerick champions, they made the long trip in great numbers, and made plenty of noise and their team put in a terrific shift and were very unlucky.
Dromid into a munster final against Knocknagree most likely, they will have serious improving to do, not sure if they have a south kerry match next weekend but a break wouldnt do them any harm either.
On a side note, I thought the ref was very fussy yesterday considering the conditions and didnt really let the game flow, there were 2 red cards but it was far from a dirty game and both sides were full of football with no niggly stuff. Also the talk in the crowd was how a ref who is only 20 minutes down the road from the visiting team was allowed officiate the game, maybe an oversight from the munster council on that one. To give him his credit though he was in full contact with the other officials and he often referred to them if he needed to

Dromid to play Knocknagree in the final in two weeks time, Knock have been free flowing through both cork and Munster this year so should be a good match. For the love of Rathmore parish hope Dromid win, can't bare (or don't want to even think about) to be listening to them go on about beating a Kerry club on the Kerry part of the parish for the next 20 years πππ

I see the final is fixed for Mallow, would it not make more sense to play in Killarney? Although Knocknagree have played their last 2 matches in Mallow so I suppose they would want it there again

Might be worth the Dromid management making a few phone calls to some Rathmore and Gneeveguilla heads, as they would have a fairly good insight into the Knocknagree team I'd imagine.

From what I've heard based on this year, that insight will be very slim, they've opted against playing Rathmore and Gneevguilla in challenge matches in the event a meeting with a Kerry team happened later in the year, so afraid they were on step ahead on that remark. But from word of mouth, they're being well coached and have a excellent manager as well. From that insight out on the p":; Sunday and Monday after winning county, back training by Tuesday, and got the job done (and a very good win as well) by the next sunday.
