Skellig Rangers beat Listowel Emmets this evening I know Skellig is not an easy place to go but Emmets must be very disappointed with this. Were they missing anyone? Massive boost to Skellig's season!

This comp is really opening up for one of the lesser sides, like skellig, keel, firies and especially fossa.

Would be surprised if Na Gaeil don't win this.

Anybody have reports or were at games today between dromid v fossa and firies v keel?
Is it fair say the 2 underdogs won today? Following on from the underdog Skelling getting the win Saturday night over listowel?...... an omen for Churchill to upset the odds next weekend possibly?

Was at firies vs keel game. Would've thought firies would win this with their youth before hand and they proved me right. Very impressive performance from firies. They never let keel pull away and they looked fitter and had the younger legs to pull away themselves in last 5 minutes Score line doesn't represent how tight game actually was but firies full deserve there win Running from deeep was very attractive and jack sherwood sliced the keel defence open twice for two beautiful goals.. dark horses perhaps?

While Firies are a good young and coming side I don't think they will be strong enough to win the junior this year, I would like to see them win it but I think they will be up against it. I have seen many of their minor and 16 games of the last few years and they have some brilliant prospects. However, I did see them struggle a few weeks ago in the division 4 against a considerably weakened Crokes B team eventually losing by 5. Crokes B team would have been missing Cillian Fitzgerald, Jason Lyne, Mike Milner and Chris Brady among a few others on the same day.

Ballydonahue lost out to Churchill in the first round. This was a massive shock in my eyes as I would have considered ballydonague to be one of the favourites for the competition. People saying ballydonague were down 5 or 6 main players but this wasn't the case. They still had the main core of there team . Churchill were also missing one or two Key players. Churchill to play na gaeil this weekend in which has the potential to be a great game. However I think na gaeil will be too strong for Churchill but we shouldn't write Churchill off just yet !

I'd say no draws until it gets closer to semi finals, which won't be played until Kerry are out of the championship.

Na Gaeil won fairly comfortably last night.
0-17 to 2-6 (late goal for Churchill closing the gap a bit).
So the 4 remaining teams are-
Na Gaeil Skellig Rangers Firies Dromid Pearses
Anyones championship really. Possibly a Na Gaeil v Dromid final if they avoid each other in the Semi Finals.

Report from the Dromid v Portmagee game below from the Pearses Facebook page. Some good action shots here as well... www.flickr.com/photos/68172694@N05/sets/72157686515987384/with/36982290286/JUNIOR PREMIER CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP 2017 SEMI FINAL VENUE : CON KEATING PARK DATE: SATURDAY 9 TH SEPTEMBER 2017 RESULT : PIARSAIGH NA DROMODA 1.12 SKELLIG RANGERS 0.06 The local South Kerry derby brought a considerable crowd to Con Keating park on Saturday evening last. The conditions were reasonable for this tense and physical affair. The Pearses were first on the board with a point in the sixth minute from Niall o Sé who made a welcome return after a lengthy absence from injury. This was a lead that Dromid would never relinquish for the remainder of the game. Mid-fielder Tomas Curráin followed with another point from play before Skellig Rangers clocked up their one and only point in the first half in the eight minute. There were a lot of missed opportunities from both sides but this proved more costly for Rangers as Dromid continued to add points to their tally including two very well-taken points from Graham Ó Súilleabháin. The half time score was Dromid 0.06 to Skellig Ranger’s 0.01. While Skellig started the second half with purpose led by Aidan Dash O’ Sullivan it was Dromid’s Gearóid J Ó Súilleabháin who was first to score in the second half. Rangers did test the Piarsaigh na Dromoda defence but Dromid won the battle led by corner back and man of the match Cian Ó Sé. At one stage a skellig ball hit the Dromid crossbar and had they scored at this stage in the game it would have brought them right back in contention. However, Dromid drove on with three points from Criostóir Ó Faircheallaigh and the only goal of the match scored by Tomás Ó Curráin. Most of Skellig’s second half points were from frees but they were out classed in the second half in most parts of the field by a fitter Dromid outfit who used their bench to good effect with substitute Eoghan Ó Laoire scoring the last point in the game. The final score was Piarsaigh na Dromoda 1.12 to Skellig Rangers 0.06. The game was refereed by Scartaglen’s Donal Casey. The Dromid team must now prepare for the final against the winners between Na Gael and Firies in the other upcoming semi- final. Unfortunately, the final is not expected to be scheduled for at least another month. Piarsaigh na Dromoda : Brian Ó Laoire, Cian Ó Sé, Dominic Ó Súilleabháin, Shane Ó Conchubhair, Donnacha Ó Súilleabháin, Graham O’ Suilleabháin(0.03), Padraig J Ó Súilleabháin, Caoimhín Ó Laoire, Aodháin ‘S’ Ó Súilleabháin, Gearóid J Ó Súilleabháin,(0.02), Críostóir Ó Faircheallaigh (0.03,2f)(C) , Caoimhín Ó Síocháin, Dilan Ó Donnchadha, Tomás Ó Curráin (1.01), Niall Ó Sé(0.02). Fir Ionad: Kealan Ó Faircheallaigh, Micheál Ó Síocháin, Seán GG Ó Sé, Eoghan Ó Laoire (0.01)

Declan is obviously having a big impact here. Makes for an interesting south Kerry championship with the Marys slipping a little.

Na Gaeil v firies this weekend in the second semi final. Only a formality for Na Gaeil here. I’d expect them to go on and win the final as well.

Na gaeil will coast home I’d imagine. Can’t see Firies or dromid stopping them. The tralee boys are on a mission for croker and a club all Ireland.

Firies won 3-12 to 0-18. Probably should have won by more but Na Gaeil got some handy frees in the second half.
Jack Sherwood got an early goal soloing right through the middle. Then at the kickout he tripped Jack Barry and got a black card. 2 minutes later another silly foot trip saw a second Firies player off on a black. It didn't phase them and Donnacha O'Sullivan and Colm O'Shea shone.
Na Gaeil never got up to the pace of the game and terrible shot options let them down. Firies lead 1-7 to 0-6 at half time and should have been further in front.
Na Gaeil burst into life to start the second half and brought the game back level, but Firies immediatelly hit back with a goal and followed up with another goal and a point to all but end Na Gaeils hopes.
Na Gaeil kept fighting and repeatedly brough the score back to a goal (thanks to some very soft frees) but Donnacha O'Sullivans free taking kept Firies out of reach.
A late Eoin O'Neill shot clattered off the crossbar which summed up Na Gaeils day.
Fair play to Firies. Definitely well worth their win.

Great team effort from Firies with special mention to Con O''Mahony who gave a super performance from Midfield and got the better of Jack Barry in their duel. Really stood up when Jack Shetwood got the black card

Na Gaeil must have taken their eye off the ball but fair play to Firies. They have some great young players coming through and a result like today's justifies their decision to go on their own in the country minor championship these last two years instead of 3 or 4 of their players picking up handy minor county championship medals.

Should be an interesting Final. Firies should be another team to benefit from a rising population in the decades to come.

A lot of teams will be kicking themselves and feeling sorry for themselves when it is a dromid firies final Fair play to both teams, there because they deserve to be there but few would have predicted either to be in final Next year's junior be tough, beaufort na Gael ballydonoghue spring to mind straight away
