You'd have to feel sorry for the teams that are struggling but you can't handicap the crokes for having a multitude of talent available at the moment.

Maybe separate competitions are something Kerry should look at for second teams in the bigger (senior clubs). Some counties play a B championship and a separate league structure for these B teams. Although this is probably just a consideration for a couple of the bigger town teams playing a second string in the lower leagues. An off spin would be a championship for these B players, something they are probably not getting at the moment? What championship will the B players from Crokes play in this year that don't make the senior Crokes panel?

What championship will the B players from Crokes play in this year that don't make the senior Crokes panel? They played in the Molyneaux Cup last year. The so called big clubs also struggle to field teams at times during the year - particularly with the US exodus of younger (and not so young) players. I can understand the frustration of genuine lower division clubs and think the rules could be tightened up a little - eg a player who plays for the senior team is ineligible for 7 days for a lower division game and a player who plays more the six senior games for his club is automatically added to the senior list and is ineligible for junior sides for the remainder of the season. This means come the business end of the season the junior sides are given a fair crack of the whip.

I do fell sorry for clubs struggling with 18 or 19 players if that. It's hard to survive. You can't hold anything against the bigger clubs either. Crokes have a big pick.
We are lucky now right now in that we have a lot of young talent coming through. We are very lucky that we have a lot of great people running the Club also.
We played the Stacks a few weeks ago we were missing Mike Moloney Fionn Fitzgerald Gavin White Alan O'Sullivan Johnny Buckley Shane Doolan Ambrose O'Donovan David O'Leary Brian Looney Jordan Kiely Kieran O'Leary and Colm Cooper. I don't care how big your club is that's a lot of talent and players. We have been missing players in every game this year.
Luckily players like David Naughton Jason Lyne Mark Egan Brian Fitzgerald Cillian Fitzgerald Paul Clarke Johnny O'Leary Billy Courtney PJ Lawlor Mike Milner Chris Brady Mike Casey and David Shaw have came in and performed. It's great for these guys to come and play Senior. It keeps them interested and they enjoy it. You can't knock the big clubs for it. Maybe the rules and leagues could be set up differently it would be different. Don't knock the Crokes for it. Not their fault it's the County Board.

The following are the Dublin CCC rules where some clubs have up to 5 football league teams. (Na Fianna. Kilmacud Crokes, & St Brigids). At least 7 other clubs have 4 teams. Regulations such as the following should be introduced to avoid serious confusion. 40. A player may not play in any lower league division if he has played in more than three games in any higher league division(s) in the same season. Penalty – Team – Loss of match to opponents on objection. Player – 4 weeks suspension Think this would be a fair rule to bring in I currently play for a senior club in Dublin with two junior teams (A and B) and i this is a good rule. Also in addition to this if you appear as sub in senior championship game you can no longer play league or cup for the junior teams even if you are still under your quota of games. I believe this is what the Kerry County Board should introduce. In fairness to Crokes they have done nothing wrong and have happen to be awash with a lot of gifted young players right now. They are well within the rules.

Good win for Crokes tonight. They were made fight all the way By Sneem/Derrynane. Great credit to them. 1-14 to 2-10. David Shaw Bryan O'Shea and Mike Casey were best for Crokes.

I hope so. It would be great for the club. Duagh at home and Castlegregory away. That's what left. The Castlegregory game could be the clincher. They are in the hunt also. Vince Casey has done a good job. It has been great for the young players who don't play much with the Seniors. It is a good place to gain experience for a year or two before playing Senior.
Billy Courtney David Naughton David Shaw have all benefited from playing with them. Brian Fitzgerald Mike Casey Chris Doncel are also up and coming young fellas who have done well. Johnny O'Leary in goal a good young keeper. There is about 5 or 6 Minors from this years team Jack Griffin Mark Fitzgerald Mike Potts Mark Hartnett Nelu Doherty Lorcan McMonagle I think will get games with them next year.

There was only 4 players over the age of 24 yesterday for the Crokes team that played Duagh.
Alan Kelly (1988) was the oldest member of the team and he is hardly an old dog just yet either.
I think 9 of the starting team were under 21. Chris Doncel was Crokes best performer notching 1-4 or 5. It was a good win but in reality Duagh were very disappointing and they must be badly struggling for numbers as they only had one sub and they are fighting for their lives in the division.
It will most likely be Lispole and Keel to gain the first two automatic promotion places and you would think it would be a playoff between Skellig Rangers and Crokes Bs to go up, but you never know either. Crokes have a tricky away tie against Castlegregory and will get nothing easy down there.

Chris Doncel should definitely get a run for the Seniors. He is very consistent along with Shaw and Mike Casey up front.

Gneeveguilla and Fossa promoted. Tarbert will beat Beale and third spot will be decided in Firies v Tarbert game. That could be Tarbert.
