Full time between corifin and castlebar and its 11 points each. Two periods of extra time to come. Brilliant final twenty minutes of the second half. I think corifin may prevail. A lad at 14 for castlebar called Douglas is excellent. You would wonder why is isn't playing for mayo

Castlebar ran out of steam in extra time and Corofin won by a few points. This Castlbars sixth game on the trot over six weekends. St Brigids await them in the final. Connacht club football is a very good product.

Pardon my lack of attention to the matter this autumn, but what happened to Crossmaglen in the Ulster Championship? Fair dues to Slaughtneil, 3 provincial titles with so limited a population to pick from.

Glenbeigh-Glencar looking to join Crokes and Kenmare as Munster champions in the Junior final this Sunday 4th in Mallow against Gabriel Rangers from Cork. Don't know anything about the Cork side but a Google search shows they are from the Schull/ Ballydehob area of West Cork, and they had a couple of handy wins in the Munster club games so far. Best of luck to Darren & co.

With all this talk nowadays about finishing football in the calendar year. It would be interesting to talk to the corkes, kenmare and glengeigh lads (should they win this weekend) if they would like to keep going and play an all ireland semi final and hopefully final before christmas.

TG4, the gift that keeps on giving, gave us the Leinster club hurling final today in which Cuala of Dudlin beat the KK champs OLoughlin Gaels. It will be a pity if Con OCallaghan never dons the Dublin jersey for the hurlers as his MOTM performance today highlighted his special talents. He seems to have that extra second or two on the ball and the correct decision is invariably made.
Abbeydorneys Darragh OConnell wasnt far behind him. With about 5 mins to go Cuala were about five up but the KK men were far from beaten. Cuala won a free out in the left half back position. Darragh went back and put it over the black spot from about 90 yards. "An Ciarrioch Mallaithe" shouted the TG4 commentator and really that score gave such a lift to Cuala that they played with abandon after that and won by 9 points. Darragh is a huge loss to Kerry and Abbeydorney.
Over the past month TG4 has followed Ballyea's remarkable run from winning their firsst Clare title to winning the Munster title. Tony Kelly is in the form of his life.
The best of the GAA now co insides with the rugby season.

History being made all round in the Club hurling championship. Only saw the first half in which the O'loughlin Gaels keeper was outstanding. He made a number of top class saves in the first 15 mins alone.

The GAA are missing a huge trick that they don't find a way of getting the club and county championship to exist side by during the summer, or a least the concluding stages of both to do do. The All-Club championships are massive competitions. County finals in August/September would be huge also. There is far too much intercounty padding between January and July, pointless tournament games, NFL/NHLs not fit for purpose now and non important provincial championship games peppered with the back door. Of course the old chestnut of numerically unequal provincial championships remain the core problem. It requires a radical over haul for the greater good of the association, all the players, the mentors and the supporters. Maybe we need a different type of president going forward?

I dunno lads, i think the club championships are just fine the way they are. All games are do or die knockout games, the GAA dont give two f...who wins the competitions and neither do the money men in the GAA, the refs are not prima donnas, TG4 does a great job, no Sunday games "insights", no SKY sports exclusive coverage.
If it aint broke dont fix it i say.

Maghery then beat St Patrick's by 3 points in the final to claim their first ever title. Kilcoo of Down then beat Maghery in the Ulster semi final by 13 points.

I thought Rhode had a lot of young players and were very naive at times. I was very surprised that Vincents didn't pull away until the well into the second half.
Crokes can beat them if they put in a good performance - if they both reach final.

Excellent idea but should not just be restricted to Dublin,Clubs in all urban areas are hoovering up players from rural areas and maybe a "homegrown" rule should be implemented for provincial and all ireland club competitions

Probably more of an issue with the Dublin clubs whom are hovering up Leinster recently.

I wonder would Crokes/Kenmare/Glenbeigh rather have played their semi final & final at some stage in December?

Best of luck to Dr. Crokes next week. Won't be able to make it as I'll be in Tralee, but I'm hoping for a good win. Corofin is a rural, but large parish. Obsessed with football around there. Lovely people and lovely football being played there. Should be a game for the purists. Dr. Crokes (Kerry) will play Corofin (Galway) in the AIB All-Ireland Club Senior Football Championship Semi-Final on Saturday February 11th at 4pm in the Gaelic Grounds Limerick.

After 42 mins
Ballyea of Clare 1.15
St Thomas of Galway 0.05
It finished
1.19 to Ballyea 2.14 to St Thomas
Brilliant fightback by St Thomas which cut the deficit to a point but a point from play by the imperious Tony Kelly put two between them in a breathless finish

Not ideal news however Brosnan is not the same influence on the field as he once was, which is only natural considering his age. He has been some warrior and inspiration to young fellas, certainly at club level. To maintain playing at this level until now is a testament to his preparation and how well he has minded his body. They don't make too many of the likes of him and Aidan O' Mahony anymore.
Hopefully we can get over the line tomorrow, it's going to be very tough against what looks to be a very solid midfield and an attacking unit that would give most inter county teams plenty of problems. However, I'm optimistic about getting a win. I think we have drastically improved in defence and there are numerous attacking options on the bench. There was 12 or 13 players who had played Kerry minor or u21 on the bench for us in the Munster final....frightening statistic IMO. No good having a strong bench if you can't win the game however.
Crokes by 2. It's now or never for this team!

Is it Streamed or on TV? Streaming guys were very apologetic re previous event so I hope they get on well.
And of course best wishes to Croke -maybe it is their year, would be nice for Gooch for all he has given to, well everyone, his contribution to Crokes is truly immense and a fitting reward it would be to a man who only modesty is in self depreciation.
