Reports have it that Colm Cooper is set to retire from inter county football. Is it too early ?? A privilege to witness his time in the Kerry Jersey. One of the greats.. Is that the last we see of him?

A brilliant footballer who will be sorely missed, we may never see the likes of him again. Best of luck Colm.

Pundit arena is a pile of click bait sh*te. Every article is " you wont believe this change on the Dublin team", etc and then the actual source is some lad on twitter who hasnt a clue and the whole thing doesnt come to fruition.

Hopefully this isn't true. I have seen many eras of Kerry Football come and go but he was the greatest player I have seen. I was there in Limerick on 28th April 2002 when he made his Senior Debut in the Division 2 Final against Laois. The first time he received the ball he took off on a toe to hand solo run, rounded a few players and stuck it into the onion bag. He had great physical strength which many seemed not to realise. He had all the attributes that make up a brilliant footballer. His timing and accuracy was extraordinary.

Pundit Arena will be right on this eventually. Doubtful if it will be anytime soon though.
It's all a bit too good to be true as far as they're concerned.

Doubt if this is true- reckon Gooch will announce his retirement via Kerry county board given his friendship with county board chairman Pat O'Sullivan- Gooch does not make too many announcements and I reckon this is just pure speculation.

Most of their stuff is robbed off other people anyway. No one click on the link as thats what they want!

Wouldn't be surprised if this were to be true. Would be the end of an era in many ways but the beginning of a new one. One of the greatest of all time that's for sure.

What did you make of Annascaul vs St. Pats in the promotion playoff? I didn't see it. The players were disappointed as you can imagine. Yeah, I imagine they were. St. Pats were a lot stronger though.

Disappointing if true as I think Gooch has at least 1 year left in him. Wasn't it only the other week he was talking about how you're a long time retired and as long as he feels good he'll keep going. Maybe he had a u-turn, like when Tommy Walsh said he wasn't going to go out to Australia, but I'll believe it when the KCC announce it.

I think Colm has denied this rumour tonight The chance to captain Kerry is too much to turn down surely? And he will have seen Marc, Aidan, Star etc play on, if he is fit,I cant see him packing it in for a few more years yet

I don't normally go in for censorship but could somebody please kill this thread. I get an acute anxiety attack every time I see a new post and have to check to make sure it isn't true. 😱

Enjoyable piece on Newstalk. You can tell he would love to get one over the Dubs before calling time. Hope springs eternal....
