yeah Portmagee are apparently going all out for it for the tenth anniversary of their last win. Mary's will obviously start as favourites but I feel Waterville will find the extra bit to finally get back to the top. Bally/Foilmore seem to be lacking something. Skellig Rangers and Dromid should be the best game of the round.

Predictions: Mary's should beat Renard Waterville should have too much firepower for Valentia Dromid v Skellig Rangers the tie of the round hard to call this one! St.Michaels/Foilmore v Sneem/Derrynane i think this game could be closer than people think sneem/derrynane going well this year with James Mike former Mitchells and St.Michaels/Foilmore manager at the helm.

James mike is not in charge off sneem/derrynane for the south kerry championship, once the draw was made that decession was agreed, he will only help them until end off county league play off.

Well that is fair enough loyalty to his own club that he does not want to play against them hard to argue with that!

Conditions should be fine and the wait is nearly over. 'The championship' is all thats talked about down here with the last month or so Trump and Hilary coming second. Sneem/Derrynane v St. Michael's/Foilmore - St Michaels Foilmore but not by much Renard v St. Mary's - Marys easily Valentia v Waterville - Waterville to win this at ease Piarsaigh na Dromoda v Skellig Rangers - Skellig to overcome Dromid in Dromid which is not an easy thing to do

Reenard and st marys game yesterday in renard. Renard were 1-2 up after 7 minutes and missed a clear goal scoring chance aswell. St. marys scored a fortuitous goal to bring them back into the game. Renard led a point at half time. In the 2nd half St. Marys came into it well and starting working the scoreboard. Big performance in the second half from the Marys boys. Brian Sheehan only came on at half time. They never looked in trouble bar the first 7 minutes. FT 1-8 to 3-9 The Marys will be tough to beat in this championship.

Great to see old stalwarts Brian Hickey and Denis Shine do battle today. It was an enthralling game. Skellig Rangers probably the better team but still lucky to come out of it needing a last play free to draw it. They were unlucky with a couple of half goal chances early from high ball given in. They had the better of the play throughout. The goals put dromid a point up both times but skellig rangers responded well. They will be disappointed how they gave away two goals having defended so well. Dromid can be buoyed by the fact that they drew and their tricky forwards will have another chance to try and click next weekend. I still fancy skellig rangers in the replay that is fixed for next weekend in portmagee.

Interesting to see that the Waterville v St Marys game is fixed for Waterville on Saturday. This should give the home club a fighting chance of beating tne holders. If the Waterville backs can hold the St Marys forwards to points rather than goals then I would fancy Waterville but if Paul o Donoghue, Daniel Daly and the Cournanes hit the back of the net, then only one winner

Waterville versus St Marys. Poor game. Waterville were 1-6 to 1 up after 20 mins. They were aided by a wind and managed to get good early ball into inside line who had the beating of the marys full back line. Last ten minutes of first half marys woke up a bit and kicked two points and came into it a bit more. HT 1-6 to 3
In the opening minutes of the second half St Marys scored a free and Waterville converted a free kick of their own. This was to be their last score. St marys kicked some long range scores and were cutting into the lead. There was three points in it and St Marys had a man sent off. Waterville to surely go on and win you would say? A certain Brian Sheehan had other ideas. He kicked two great points in a row before Waterville created a great goal chances but for the forward miss judging the final pass. Marys converted a free to level it and with a minute left their attacking wing back Daniel O Sullivan kicked the winning point. Waterville had a chance to level but kicked wide. FT 1-7 to 11
This game was down to who would use the wind better and Marys came out on top. Their long range scores in the second half helped them on their way. They defended well the few times they had to in the second half. Waterville will be dissappointed. They couldn't adjust their game in the second half when needed.

Skellig rangers 2-9 Dromid 1-7
Two late goals seal victory for portmagee, they now face St.Michael's/Foilmore in the semi final, this game will go down to the wire judging by the teams last meeting in the intermediate championship

Skellig Rangers and Dromid.
Home team win it by 5 points. Skellig rangers launched two hopeful balls into danger area and got two goals in the last two mins of regular time to win it.
It was tit for tat in the first half. Dromid scored a goal right before half time to put them 2 up going in at the break.
Skellig came out and drew level in the second half. Dromid went ahead with about 7 minutes to go. Skellig Rangers then got the goals.
Not as exciting as last weekends game. Skellig Rangers lucky to come out of it with the win. Ballyfoilmore next weekend for them. Should be a good one. Everyone loves taking on the bally boys ☺☺. Hard one to call. Skellig Rangers need to improve. At the moment I call a Bally/foilmore versus St Marys final. I also called Hilary for president though

Skellig Rangers through to final after beating Bally Foilmore 1-9 to 1-4. They dominated the game and played with a serious intensity. Mark Griffin was well out of it for Bally Foilmore. They played long ball tactic and couldn't break down Skelligs defence.
Seems to be big panel of players for Skellig Rangers and they have used a lot of players in their 3 games. Could be a factor next weekend when they take on the Marys in the final.
St. Marys are worthy favourites having won it the last 2 years while boasting a serious forward line and the free kicking ability of Brian Sheehan. However skellig rangers have alot in their favour aswell - momentum, options from the bench, intensity and if I was to have a bet it would be on them.

Con Keating Park. It was decided way earlier in the year. The Mary's are doing some kind of memorial for Con Keating on the day to coincide with the 100 year celebtations of the rising.
Portmagee have a tough task ahead but not without hope. They were very imrpessive yesterday against a supposedly superior Bally / Foilmore. They defended very well and had a bit of cutting up front in Ronan Shea and the two Keatings.
Still very hard to see anything other than another 3 in a row for the townies and a perfect send off to the county scene for Maurice.

St. Marys far too good for Skellig Rangers in the final on Saturday. The portmagee side never really got going despite scoring a goal and going 2 pints up early in the game. Brian Sheehan and Denis daly were superb and their work rate and all round general performance was the platform for their exceptional forwards to do the business. Skellig Rangers looked a bit sluggish around the middle and in fairness to their forwards they did their best with the amount of service they had. FT 1-15 to 1-6.
St Marys are a serious outfit and will be a match for most division 1 teams next year. Skellig Rangers will surely have to make a sustained effort to get out of division 4 next year.
