One of the main reasons for this forum is to give people some kind of insight into how things are going in a club and how they are set for a game etc. HurlingMad1234 clearly said he was going by heresay which a lot of posts on this go by... there was obviously no menace in the comment and control will obviously see that... im sure it wont distract leahy or hinder his performance tomorrow

St. Senans 3-12 Tarbert 0-11 HT 2-6 0-7
There is no doubt St. Senans are contenders after this display. While it was not a perfect exhibition it had enough quality, top drawer at times, to comprehensively demolish Tarbert.
The teams exchanged pointed frees early on, punctuated by a monster point from play by full forward Paudie Quille, who was proving red hot for Ambrose Lanigan. The heat generated by Paudie became unbearable not long afterwards. Sean T . Dillon bolted through the middle with the breakneck speed of a runaway horse. Nobody could lay a glove on him before he parted to the aforementioned Paudie who expertly slotted home. Tarbert reacted by switching Shane Enright and Ambrose Lanigan and both benefitted from their repositioning. In spite of that, St. Senans were coming in waves, spearheaded by the balletic Damian Somers at midfield, and when Tarbert failed to deal with a high ball David Foran crashed onto it and let fly ,the net shaking once more. This was serious stuff from Senans and one feared for Tarbert's well being. To their credit, they defiantly took the game to their opponents and sloppy defending meant that Andrew Doherty harvested a series of points from frees and rather than being dead and buried at the break their heads were still above water, just about.
The second half started in a feisty manner and the referee had to intervene on a few occasions. Naturally, Tarbert needed to start flinging the kitchen sink about but their young opponents were not going to bend the knee in any manner of speaking. Happily, matters settled down but as the half progressed it became apparent that Senans were going to prevail, stylishly and convincingly. They won that half too, 1-6 to 0-4 and could still afford some uncharacteristic wides and also had a penalty saved. No room for argument.
In interestingly, Senans switched Breandan Whelan to full back as a foil for the Tarbert's giant at full forward, Donal Leahy. The two behemoths rutted away at the edge of the square and the referee wisely did not fussily involve himself in their combat. Of course that suited the defender more than the forward.
There were times when St. Senans truly glittered , especially in their attack which at times can mesmerise. The immaculate Damian Somers ensured a liberal supply of quality ball. Their defence, which has loads of pace, were gritty and determined but some careless tackling meant they gave away too many frees.
Sean T. Dillon, Alan Kennelly, and Sean Weir, not as prominent as against Castleisland, were most prominent.
It is the forward line that is the jewel in the crown of the Halfway lads. Everyone of them is a natural footballer, full of pace , inventiveness and menace. David Foran scored two goals, Paudie Quill garnered 1-4. David Behan got two from play. There was one point from play for each of Sean O'Connell, Cathal Kennelly and Ronan Keirns.
Conceding two early goals presented Tarbert with a mountain, a mountain which ultimately was too forbidding. They lined out without Danny Wren, a significant loss, and had Jason Wren double yellow carded late in the game but the show was over by then. As stated both Ambrose Lanigan Shane Enright improved after swapping positions. Michael Heaphy and Noel Kennedy,0-1, also had good moments. Kevin Enright was the better of their midfielders but Damian Somers was the monarch in that area.
Mark Buckley on the forty, indeed everywhere, was tirelessly effective and also notched a fine point from play. Shane O'Connor , a point from play, never showed the white flag. Andrew Doherty , almost flawless from frees, 0-5, would have been expected to make a bigger impression from open play and Michael Carrig was impressive , as he was against Moyvane. He scored 0-1.
So, St. Senans, a club that has had more dinner times than dinners, will pull up to the table a week before Christmas to participate in the most appetising feast of all. Will their bellies be sated on this occasion? If so, they will become one of the most popular winners ever of this championship. It will be their first you see. Unfortunately for them ,neither Listowel or Balldonoghue are likely to be clad in their red suits on the 18/12/2016. Nevertheless only the most reprehensible of scrooges would not at least say, may God bless them everyone.

Nice football played by Senans today. Tenacious in defence, sharp at the breaks. Fast, fluid and and decisive in attack. . They hit a purple patch midway through the first half, cruising into a 9 point lead. Tarbert were much more ponderous and never looked like getting the goals they needed to get back into this one. While they closed the gap to five courtesy of a few softish frees before halftime, that was as good as it got for them. David Foran's second goal on 40 mins signalled the end of the contest and the winners could afford the luxury of a few for-fun shots and a missed penalty before the end.
Enjoyable game in good conditions for this time of year. Senans will take some beating on this form. Good footballers right through the side. Sean Dillon set up a goal and the penalty with 2 rampaging runs from full back. At the other end, Padraig Quille torched the Tarbert back line all day. Tarbert have their keeper to thank that it wasn't worse on the day.

Senans wouldn't want to be getting too carried away with 'this performance as Tarbert were very poor on the day. Much tougher tests to come against either of the other 2 semi finalists. Tarbert had all but given up with 10 mins to go. Danny Wren proved to be a loss but don't think he would have changed the result.

Senans v ballydonoghue would be one of the best final pairings in years and certainly a refreshing prospect if it happens. I'd say very few people will want listowel to win next weekend, you would probably have a 30-40% increase in the crowd if ballydonoghue get there

Interesting to note that since the 2015 reply final team, Emmets have lost the following due to a combination of injuries, retirements and immigration!! From the Starting team- jamie barry, shane quinn, brendan guiney, ger mccarthy, michael lynch, brendan flavin, maurice whelan.. subs: Tom Melvin, rici hanley, eddie horgan and sean mccarthy

Must admit senans were impressive yesterday and surprised me!!! Their transition of attack to defence is incredibly fast and impressive.. that said tarbert were very poor yesterday. Senans lack of a natural full back could come to haunt them like it did 2 years ago against emmets in the replay in ballyb.. just for argument sake, if listowel win next sunday and they play high ball into Cox, who will they put to mark him? Dont get me wrong Sean t dillon is a tremendous defender and is tough as nails but he struggles with the high ball.. all shall be revealed.. ballydonoghue are no easy task for listowel and in the last 9 finals they have met listowel in betwen minor and 21s, ballydonoghue have won 8 out of the 9 so they wont fear Listowel!! Add paul kennelly and eamon walsh etc to that mix and youve a great team!!! Its time to finally get this championship to live!!!

Enjoyable game yesterday in Listowel, large crowd , I was impressed by Senans teamwork and fast movement of ball to forwards, Tarbert were easily caught out in the full back line which resulted in the 2 first half goals, after this there was only going to be one winner I must complement referee Mike Hennessy on his handling of the game, he was constantly in control and let the game flow without incident. It's not often that we have a good word for the men in black but on this occasion yes. The question remains how good are the Half - Way men? The winners of next Sundays other semi will really put it up to them. Senans v Ballydonughue would be a classic encounter with a bumper crowd. Senans trying to gain the title for the first time in their history , BallyD haven't won since '92 But write off Emmets at your pearl I believe the scare they got vs Ballyduff May be the kick in the Arse that they needed to sort themselves out Sundays game is hard to call as Ballydonoughue are the up an coming team in the county while Listowel are old masters at this stage of the year, My head says Ballydonoughue my heart says Emmets.

The kettle has finally boiled up North, but who takes the cup will be determined over the next two weekends as the North Kerry Championship serves up the most exciting pairings for the last ten years. Lets calls a spade a spade, anyone with a good eye on North Kerry football will agree that the best three underage teams in North Kerry for the last 15 years are the three left standing heading for the home straight. These guys know each other inside out from numerous battles underage, schoolmates, collage mates, divisional team mates, county team mates, social friends, you even have family relations amongst the mix! Who is brave enough to call the winner? Here are my thoughts............. St Senens are the team on everyone's mind & deserving so, they have blitzed all that has been put in front of them to date & confidence within the camp is very high. They now have a two week window to prepare for their greatest challenge yet. And yes it will be their greatest challenge yet, because as impressive their performances have been against Duagh, Desmonds & Tarbert, don't be fooled to think Ballydonoghue or Listowel wouldn't have came away with the same result against three poor oppositions. I feel the winners of this weekend, considering they get over the line with no injuries or suspensions, will take the title for 2016. Senens showed me enough quality in the last two outings to say, yes they have come along way & yes they are playing nice football but on too many occasions they were raw. When I saw raw, I mean at times they rushed efforts, shot from impossible angles, gave away easy frees in scoring positions to mention a few. They just lacked that cuteness you need to win a North Kerry Championship which will be there downfall against better opposition. Ballydonoghue & Listowel will be your final this year. This pairing has been brewing for nearly 20 years for a crack off each other at Senior Championship & I imagine it will attract a record crowd to Moyvane on Sunday. What makes this one unique is the fact that Ballydonoghue are the only team in North Kerry who actually genuinely believe they can beat the townies & rightly so. They don't fear them & that comes from success underage & for which 90% of the team on Sunday will include these players. On the other side you have the townies, they have contested 9 of the last 12 finals (winning 5) & they must see Ballydonoghue & Senens as the threat to their future success. Lets be honest both Senens & Ballydonoghue will win a North Kerry Championship in the next 5 years, I have no doubt about that. But Listowel are best when wounded, when written off, when the underdog & Sunday is a day when they will be all three. 95% in attendance will want a Ballydonoghue victory just for change, but don't forget the townies record to date. Jason Foley will no doubt pick up Conor Cox and I would expect him to shade this dual. However in doing so, it will put the onus on the other Listowel forwards to take on the responsibility, something which could work in their favour given the recent form of Tarrent, Murphy, Sheehy & Sweeney plus an impact from the bench from Noel when the ship gets rocky. At the other end, I imagine Jack McGuire will pick up his cousin Paul Kennelly & while I feel Paul will shade this one, it may well be their only success upfront. I can't see the remaining forwards giving the Listowel defence any nightmares this week. John O'Mahony & Brian O'Seanachain are available again from the Brosna victory while Listowel can call upon the returning Denis Walsh, Thomas McCarthy, David Sheehy, Ger McCarthy, Maurice Whelan, Brendan Guiney to give them additional depth from their win over Ballyduff. I for one will be looking forward to the trip to Moyvane & watch it all unfold.

nice to see bally get to the final but I think Listowel will just edge it. This is based on very little except the wise head v inexperience argument. Also Emmets weee comfortable in div 2. Bally had an poor finish. Different teams out today maybe but nothing to suggest bally are there yet. Let's hope they are.

Ah here's a little 'pep' help!
Ballydonoghue Battle Good luck to Bhaile Uí Dhonnchú, went to town on the townies. Nothing boils the blood, like those sharing boundary. Nothing beats beating ‘em back, turning ‘em over and around. Retreated from the battlefield, reigning monarchy now uncrowned. Didn't read the sign, crossing the Gale not allowed. Remembering our heroes of yore, tear of joy the eye drowns. Though times were tough, the enemy was grounded. Fire in the belly rekindled, your turn, your time is now. Scent of enemy blood has you driven, forefather wish be your vow. Under threat of invasion, kin clan won't be let down. Territory saved by the green army, soldiers home safe and sound. Your parish behind you, an extra man be the crowd. Bhaile Uí Dhonnchú abú airís inniu, high kings of the North of the county.

HEHEHE, IT WORKED.
I was writing it here in Donegal while the game was on, not knowing it was streamed 'til I spotted homerj's update.
Now commentator Robert Bunyan must have bought shares in a heart attack medicine, he had us confused if unintentionally, I didn't know if it was the 1st or 2nd half and the clock being reset to 0;00 at HT didn't help either. Robert kept saying so many mins gone but never once said it was the 2nd half, otherwise a great commentary and an even better game.
Quotes on the day, from 'Robert Ó Muircheartaigh' of course
If Ballydonoghue want to win they will have to get ball down to the other end of the field, if Listowel want to win they'll have to stop 'em.
It will be some point, but it goes wide, null and void, null and wide as a Chinaman said of a day in Piccadilly Circus, might be a laughing matter in Chinatown but not in my town, if I caught him I'd give him a bit of null and wide, did he know where he was talking?
Ballydonoghue 5 points to Listowel's 3, an even game, a very even game and 'twill only get even better.
Will the ball get to Damien O'Carroll?, will the mountain go to Muhammad, no it won't, but Muhammad O'Carroll gets to the ball, moving the ball forward is the name of the game, great progress, Muhammad now makes some progress as he moves the mountain back towards his own goal mouth.
He looks towards the goal and shoots for a point, not beyond him to put it over the bar but it falls short and Jason Foley collects, 'twas beyond him to put it under the bar.
Can't see the number of the Listowel man who remains down, maybe his number is up, brought an injury into the game, carries two out, doubled his money, some said the poor devil was dead but he rose again.
A great save by Keith Hughes but 'twas probably going outside the post.
St Senans are waiting all of two thousand and sixteen years after Christ to win their first final, which of these teams will be playing them next Sunday?, might be a draw so both will be playing, replaying, St Senans may have to wait longer, 'twould test the patience of a saint, two thousand and sixteen years and a week after Christ, God almighty but St Senan has some patience.
The ref whistleblows the game, I don't know why as both lads went down bleeding from the head at the same time, both on 13 minutes, some people have all the luck, Martin Mahony now heads away to have his head examined as the game heads for 14 minutes, who'll be heading for the final? Martin lives down a bohereen, the same bohereen his namesake grandfather lived down before him, and his father before him, the concussed Listowel boy is heading off the battlefield, if I was going for a walk in the country that's wan bohereen I wouldn't head down.
Now wherever you are watching the match today we welcome you, from Lacca to Larha, from Lahesrough to Lixnaw via Lyreacrompane, from Lisselton via Lispole and onto Creans South pole to Listowel, from Leitrim East to Leitrim West via Lovely Leitrim, from the Great Lakes to our own even Greater Lakes via Loch Lomond, from London and all stations through to Los Angeles via Lenamore, from Long Island in the Iveragh Peninsula taking a right at Lerrig and onto Long Island by New York, from Latin America via Lehanes onto Playa de Las Americas, us North Kerry folk might be scattered but in the here and now we're all in the wan place, same time and place, right time right place, we're all in a place called Limbo and we don't know who's going where next, but we do know that everyone is going somewhere, and it will be up or down, simple as that. Anyway we hope you are enjoying the first ever streaming of a North Kerry Championship semi-final and hopefully it won't be the last, you can thank fibre optic cable the next time you meet him for making it all possible. Tommy Kennelly has strayed down to the opposite end of the field, also a long way from home, Conor Kennelly now comes on as a blood sub, three Kennelly blood brothers on the field, very much at home and there is a fourth lad bouncing off the conveyer belt having come through the umbilical mill, and that mightn't be where it will end, so what do you think of that Joe Brolly? Busses come in pairs but in a townland of Moneen 'tis two-pair, looking forward to the day Jack Kennelly the 4th squares up to wee laddo Mister Brolly, and by all accounts we might have saved the best for last. They say he has Uncle Pavarotti's stride and Grandad Tomaisín's determination, if he has his father's elbows I'd keep my head down during the harvest season if I was Joe Brolly or I might be vintage cropped with a clip from a left of field haymaker, there would be some side effects, side effects Moneen style, very effective, the justice of the lawlessness of the laws of unintended consequences unleashed on a lawyer who told us that ignorance of the law is no excuse, Ballydonoghue imposing law on the legal profession, who said there was no law there?, the final verdict your honour, the best saved for last, take him down like they took us down, what goes around comes around on that conveyer belt.
Listowel the dominant team now as the scoreboard has Ballydonoghue leading 1-9 to 8 points.
A hard earned free, nothing free about it.
I see my neighbour Gerald Fitzgerald in the crowd, a man who made the world beating discovery of how to wash a bag of football jerseys with an egg spoon. Them advertising laddos on TV talking about blue whiteness are no match for a Ballydonoghue man washing jerseys without laying a hand on them, praise the egg and call it done, and done it was. If the battle of Waterloo was won on the fields of Eton then North Kerry football battles were won at the Ballydonoghue breakfast table. Behind every good man is a good woman, Ballydonogue have the ICA behind the team, aided and abetted by a thunderin' rogue of an eggologist, an eggstraordinary eggologist.
A great chance for a point, he serves her over the bar, a great barman, great service, a sucker punch, top shelf, punch drunk, pints and chasers, pints and shots, four from four, intoxicating stuff, plastered and the cup isn't even won let alone filled, must be filled before it can be emptied.
I see Sargent Stephen O'Carroll down there, Sargent Stephen rallied his troops for today, blooded 'em, told 'em to take no prisoners, as a past master he's now summonsed a North Kerry board officer about his lack of policing, retired but now more on duty than ever, Sunday overtime, a hard task master, summonsing a fellow officer for indiscipline, Sargent Stephen's mantra is to react first and ask questions later. I was there the night be met Patricia, he boxed his opponent out of the way first and then asked questions, popped the question, true to his word, a man of conviction who convicted a few hobos in his day. Darragh O'Shea decides to go long with the kick out but the ball decides to go left.
Looking for someone to give it away to, he sells a dummy but nobody bought it so he pays the price.
Conor Cox, a danger man for Listowel, a dangerous man from Listowel, a dangerous man for Ballydonogue, danger, danger, danger, danger, danger, danger, dangerous for a commentator not to stay neutral in times of despair.
Will he get a card or just a ticking, the game slows down a bit now but time still ticks away as the ref looks at his watch, looks at his other watch, everyone is watching the time, still no whistle, has he a blockage?, 'tis a long 5 minutes, the blockage is cleared and Ballydonoghue will meet the saints, well refereed, all thirty four minutes and fifty two seconds of it, well half refereed anyway.
Ballydonohue read the game to perfection, sure they're writers, wrote a death sentence for Listowel, to the letter of the law, a solicitors letter that the townies didn't read nor heed, St Senans are now on 7 day notice that expires at the next Sabbath sunrise, no will not be taken for an answer.
PS Robert, thanks for acknowledging the significance of the opening goal vs Duagh minors in '74 - was he worth the petrol? By the way I thought we only had the bare contingent for that away game, who was poor 16?

Ballydonoghue really should have won this by more. Totally dominant from about 10 minutes in; they couldn't take the scores to put Listowel away. At the same time, Listowel never looked like pulling it out of the fire. Ballydonogue tackled tenaciously and kept Emmets scoreless from play in the second half.
Poor, stop-start game, not nearly as good or fluid as the other semi. Eamonn Walsh was outstanding for the winners.
