Congratulations to St. Brendan's. Well deserved. So refreshing to watch a game like that in contrast to some drivel we see from seniors. Great point scoring by both teams. A great exhibition of free taking by Billy Courtney. Amazing that our seniors cannot replicate that skill.
David Shaw is not unlike David Clifford in style and physique. Is still a minor? It is shameful if one or both are lured to the mongol game.
I felt the referee was correct disallow the opening "goal" for a throw hand pass.
After being so weak at underage for so long it is extraordinary that we have four Hogan cups and three minor titles in a row. One would wonder what was going on at underage level for so many years prior to those successes .

Sports scholarship I think. Or rather he did the Leaving Cert last year. I've never heard of anyone doing their leaving at 16. He must have started Primary school when he was 3.

Or rather he did the Leaving Cert last year. I've never heard of anyone doing their leaving at 16. He must have started Primary school when he was 3. So he went to college without a Leaving? I went to school at four. If I didn't do transition year (and repeat sixth class) I'd have been 16 doing the Leaving. My father did his Leaving at 16. It just takes skipping transition year and starting school at four.

David shaw is just as good as David clifford in his own right. Our full forward line for Kerry for the next 10 years is sorted anyway. Out of the 3 minor teams those 2 are standout forwards. Shaw is a complete class act. Also clifford turned 18 in Jan

I know Clifford got a sports scholarship with IT Tralee, I saw him interviewed about it. Whether he left school early over it I don't know and I don't care, I assumed he did.

According to the profile he was 16 playing that final and his birthday was later that month in July. I'm not sure how much you can trust GAA programmes.

Loads of people go to college at 17, not sure how this is causing such consternation.

Seriously talented bunch of players in that team - 8 of the side are in with the Kerry minors and a further 5 of the panel are in with the Kerry U-17s; add in the likes of David Clifford, Brian Friel & Diarmuid O'Connor from last year's winning team and this year's outfit already look like a force to be reckoned with.

Delighted for the Crokes fellas. Great year for the sem. Cian O'Callaghan was injured also. A lot of them on the Kerry minor panel. Kerry will be hard to beat.

Nice to see the panel introduced at half time in Killarney today.
It struck me there seem to be very few from Kilcummin on the panel which is surprising. A lot from Firies, as well as the Killarney clubs but not a lot from Kilcummin.
